lcfcsnow Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 What a disappointment, why strengthen the midfield so much and not play your best side.
johnny the fox Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 brilliant management for me.. pause for egg on face.
ScouseFox Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Classic Nige. So we definitely won't see Powell until Palace at the earliest. makes my job of offering to do a loan watch article on him for a united board a bit pointless haha. all ive got to go on in the first month is about 3 pictures in training
Stadt Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 You've got to remember King and Hammond have been playing, Drinkwater and Cambiasso have only played a friendly against MK Don's under 12s in the last month - King and Drinky can't play together anyway.
lgfualol Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 That bench. Wow. No Powell, Lawrence, Albrighton, Simpson
Crinklyfox Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Unchanged team says to me that NP wants the same performance against Stoke that we gave to Arsenal. Places are there to be kept if the performances are good and there are no injuries.
Ric Flair Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 We must be the only side in the PL that wouldn't start their best players when they become available again. It's extraordinary but it seems to work currently. I can't help feeling though it puts us under undue pressure. If that midfield gets over-ran subs have to be made that aren't attacking and leaves us limited in who can change a game. Drinkwater simply has to start for me, so does Vardy.
Steven Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Starting XI: Hamer, De Laet, Morgan ©, Moore, Konchesky, Mahrez, Hammond, King, Schlupp, Ulloa, Nugent #StoLei Subs: Smith, Drinkwater, Vardy, Cambiasso, Knockaert, Wasilewski, Wood #StoLei
Legend_in_blue Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 I'd have been tempted to drop Hammond for Cambiasso. Granted Hammond hasn't done a lot wrong but we've looked limited with him in the team imo. More damage limitation than anything else. Considering the opposition so far, fair enough, but against Stoke I'd expect us to take it to them more.

Places are there to be kept if the performances are good and there are no injuries. It's a great idea - I would put my best players out there but I can see NP's thinking. Proof is in the pudding, win and he shows his class again.
youglan Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 hamer spill the ball alot in the warm up am worried not good at all
Master Fox Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Subs: Smith, Drinkwater, Vardy, Cambiasso, Knockaert, Wasilewski, Wood. Why? Hopefully we'll win the game so it won't matter. I just want to see them all play to 90 mins for us. Cambiasso on the bench? Lord have mercy.... Another concern is where the fook has the streaming thread gone? This is very against the ethos of the board. Disgraceful
stevelcfc Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Very happy that King and Hammond get another well deserved chance. What have either of them done to deserve dropping? I know there's nothing that can be done Keeper wise, but having watched him in pre-season and vs Shrewsbury, he is appalling, but now's his time to prove that he's not as shit as I think he is.
Christoph Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Hmm not sure about the team selection. As good as king and Hammond have been playing I fear they may be a little lightweight for Stoke. Hopefully we won't get bullied too much in the midfield. It would be nice to change things I hope.
Guest ttfn Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 It's not like our results have been so brilliant as to warrant an unchanged team. Good, yes. Good enough to leave out Cambiasso, Vardy and Drinkwater when fit?
OLD norfox Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 It tells a lot when NP trust the same team as last time out. It means that he is pleased with the team so far. Dean Hammond recorded 12,4 km last match that is impressive. Almost every new player has almost 14 days in training to impress the gaffer but he trust the same team. Come on foxes

foxoffderby Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Our bench seems stronger than the 1st 11. Worried about Hamer. Never rated him.
Andy King Power Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 So the same team. As much as Drinky and Vards should be on, you can't fault those in the stating XI, they've done a fantastic job. I'd probably would've had Hammond out based on the Arsenal game, but hey, he's been great, and Nige knows what he's doing. That bench is amazing, so many options! Good competition to ensure that everyone is at their best. For Nige, it's a balance of man-management and having a team that delivers. I believe what he has out there right now will get the job done. If not, well... take your pick from the bench. I have faith in Hamer. To think a few here have dismissed him based on a fumble against Ilkeston (Happens to anyone). It's as if everyone thinks he's the worst keeper in the world after that, considering he was hyped to be a great signing. Just like the Shrewsbury game, some people's opinions just change at the drop of the hat.

I hope NP is a bit more positive about his team selection and thinks King and Hammond are currently best placed to fulfil the roles he has in mind to carry out his game plan, rather than "they don't deserve to be dropped".
youglan Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 i never rated hamer i thought he was the wrong signing there better keepers out there
Spudulike Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Is Foxes Player commentary working for anyone ??
Guest ttfn Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 i never rated hamer i thought he was the wrong signing there better keepers out there He's not even played a minute of league football. Can we leave the "I told you so"s until later please?
JonnyBoy Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 criminal not starting our three best players. I don't understand as they are all fit? crazy decision.
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Dont like that Kasper is out. I suddenly feel nervy about this one.
