ScouseFox Posted 17 October 2014 Author Share Posted 17 October 2014 This week's table update heading into the weekend and the glorious return of proper football, as well as jumps racing at Cheltenham and a huge day at Ascot on the flat. Loads of tips already in, gotta say I like the look of Bristol City @ Cov suggested up there, might have a bang on that tomorrow. As for midweek, we've been able to add a first mark into the winning tips column for Grandad, although our very own Andy King made him sweat despite at one point looking like it'd be the most comfortable of winning doubles. A win's a win though! Tom17LCFC is marching on at the top with another decent priced double, making the most of the international prices on offer. And I make that back to back winners for Hirsty The Blue 94 who's another who might not be as happy as most to see the back of the international break, where he cleaned up with 2/2 winning tips throwing his name back towards the top where we all want to be. Barren spell continues for myself, still just the one win on the opening Saturday! Crap. Need to sort it out this weekend. As ever, the total tipping opportunities has been 6 so far, this weekend will make it 7. So if the league has you on 4 or 5 tips and you've got two shouts for the weekend then hit us up with both to get yourself back in the game if you want. FAO Separator, Hirsty and a few others who sway towards horses from time to time if you've got an outsider or a decent priced double I see no issue with anyone giving us a tip of £5 e/w if you want to play safe at a price or two and try and return a profit however big or small, few competitive looking fields over the weekend. Nice one boys.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 17 October 2014 Share Posted 17 October 2014 This has been a cracking idea Scouse, appreciate your efforts on this. I am going to use this as I trial run up until Christmas to see how I am getting on, and then start backing my tips if I'm doing alright. This weekend there is plenty I quite fancy, with some racing and football value, as well as some interest in the Golf World Matchplay. I will have a good assess of it tonight and see what's what.

separator Posted 17 October 2014 Share Posted 17 October 2014 Good idea about the £5 e/w bet Scouse, will definitely try and find something over the weekend to try and wipe out my losses so far.
ousefox Posted 17 October 2014 Share Posted 17 October 2014 Trying to get myself back into the mix with a draw no bet treble here.... Leicester away at Toon 2.5 Forest away at Cardiff 2.1 West Ham away at Burnley 1.8 tenner returns £94.50 - obviously I might have to do some maths if two of them come in... Tom17LCFC Posted 17 October 2014 Share Posted 17 October 2014 Burnley vs West Ham @ 17/10 I straight up don't rate Burnley, in part due to the fact that they've failed to spend their many pound notes that promotion earned them, and also because the money they have spent has been spent on football luminaries such as marvin sordell and george boyd. West Ham on the other hand have gone about their business quietly this season, flying high in 7th. add this to the fact that when the 2 sides met last season at turf moor in the league cup, West Ham came away easy 2-0 winners against a Burnley side that really hasn't changed much. Woking -1 vs Telford @ 3/4 fairly simple this one. Woking sit 2nd in the conference, looking a good bet for a huge promotion challenge this season. Telford however have replaced Hyde as the conference's whipping boys, amassing 7 points from their opening 16 games, with just one win coming at home. They've managed just 2 points on the road all season and have lost 3 of their last 5 away games by more than 1 goal. £10 double pays £47.25. StanSP Posted 17 October 2014 Share Posted 17 October 2014 Cheers for maintaining this, Scouse. My luck is bound to change sooner or later! £10 on Rochdale to beat Gillingham Walsall to beat Crewe Returns £28.
separator Posted 17 October 2014 Share Posted 17 October 2014 Weekend selection is ETON FOREVER, Ascot 2.20 on Saturday. 14/1 £5 e/w (4 places, 1/5 odds). Win returns £94, place returns £19 Being dropped back in trip to 6f, likes soft ground, usually runs at 7f so the ground & stamina shouldn't be a problem. Is also a winner previously on this course. Quite an open race and I reckon the ground will put the mockers on a few favs at Ascot on Saturday. Big odds but i'm already well down the table, what's another tenner. Maybes Posted 17 October 2014 Share Posted 17 October 2014 Arsenal win vs hull Fancy Arsenal to see off Hull. They are a lot more leaky this season and I think Welbeck and co could have a decent day! West Ham win away at burnley Burnley are the bins. Simple as. Fancy Sam to have a good game and I nstruct him team well. £10 doubles pays £39.
CKB Posted 18 October 2014 Share Posted 18 October 2014 My double today Charlton Middlesborough 14-1 on Sky Bet, 10 quid returns 150 Can't believe the prices for both tbh, Charlton are unbeaten and while the Championship is unpredictable I can certainly see them just shading this against a Bournemouth side who are going through an inconsistent period at the moment Middlesbrough for a while now have been very hit and miss but slowly it seems Karanka is getting his methods across and they are becoming more hit than miss.. Brighton seem to be the draw specialists and while this could certainly be another draw I think Boro may just shade it

Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 18 October 2014 Share Posted 18 October 2014 After tough consideration my tip is going to be a single.Bolton to beat Birmingham (23/10)Bolton have been under performing ever since they missed out on the play offs 2 years ago, and finally got rid of Dougie Freedman. Neil Lennon has come in and is a manager I really rate, and Celtic's struggles since he has left has proven it is not as easy a job as thought. New manager syndrome is likely to kick in too, and coupled that with the fact despite picking up some good results in recent weeks Birmingham are still a very poor championship side.£10 returns £33 with Bet365. The Blur Posted 18 October 2014 Share Posted 18 October 2014 Surprised no mentioned Eastleigh- Unbeaten at home (5 wins 3 draws with three draws coming against three decent teams-Bristol,Gateshead and Forest Green-good away record!) against Nuneaton with 7 losses in 8 away games this season. Just under evens. Plymouth seem to be a good value at 11/10- 4 wins in last 5 games with a home record of 4-1-1 against Carlisle with 1-1-4 away record. chrishlcfc Posted 18 October 2014 Share Posted 18 October 2014 Peterborough 4/5: Peterborough are in good form and are playing a Barnsley side who have struggled since dropping into league 1. Bristol City 11/10: Bristol City are playing well this season and travel to Coventry who are out of form and really struggling. £10 double pays £37.80 with Skybet. The way my form is on here, completely the opposite will happen

I am in. £10 returns £32.20 I just checked the league- most of posters are now making seventh tips so if it is ok then I will be making six more to catch up today Chelsea/Arsenal- a safe bet (I hope) returns £20.86 Preston/Bristol C returns £34.16 Dundee Utd/Inverness returns £38.25 MK Dons/Southend returns £45.93 Rangers/Everton returns £20.20 Notts Country/Walsall returns £33.92 I understand if you do not want to accept that many though. ScouseFox Posted 18 October 2014 Author Share Posted 18 October 2014 haha yeah go for it, welcome aboard. and chrisuki too. i was gonna say i will do a continuous table throughout however long this runs for (dunno yet, until we get bored i guess ) but also post a monthly table at the end of each month to see who's done well recently etc, also to give anyone who missed anything at the start or who has a break some time a chance to see their true progress based on months they've fully participated etc.
