They are both in my defence aswell. Only way to stand a chance against the pace abuse teams. FUT isn't about how highly rated players are, ultimately its about how fast they can run.

I know pace makes a big difference but it's not everything. I have a pretty pace abuse team, I'll admit it. I'm pretty inexperienced and I make up for it with direct tactics.

But the people who are actually good at this game work me out in seconds. They drop their defence deeper so they are harder to through ball by and they keeper rush immediately. Keepers in this are all psychic Olympic sprinters.

If you've got people like Ibarbo running straight at you just jockey. Nine times out of ten the kid will not have a clue what to do.

The batterings I've taken have been from people who knew how to pass through me, not run.

Need to actually build myself a squad so I can start playing FUT, I don't want to fall into the trap of the cliche pace team but I may have to in order to get anywhere.

Bought this for the 360 midweek and Ive only really been playing it since yesterday, first real go at Fifa since '12' and I'm not used to the defending; people just walk straight through me.

 

Bought Will Hughes and Griminho on career and waiting on a board takeover I redeemed to kick in so I can sign more. Never given FUT a chance as Im old school career and online 1v1 but ive got some decent players together and need to work it all out

Pace is only effective if used properly. I used to like playing against people with absolute pace abusing squads as often it masked the fact they were very one-dimensional.

 

Though the one player who constantly scores against me and has done for the last few FIFAs, is Loic Remy. Every single game he seems to score past me, without fail.

I have a pace abuse side, but I only use it against friends who have the same. I use a pretty average Bundesliga team online. By the way, anyone on here up for a game on the 360??

I have Walker and Clichy but I play possession football I don't get the ball and run at people like some do.. finners and heggsy can vouch for me

Yeah Ashley's an example of what I'm talking about. Passing triangles, chasing shadows, horrible stuff. I'd rather play a pace abuser any day.

 

As an aside, I can't be the only  one with eyes so terrible that the Veltins Arena makes the game pretty much unplayable?

I've probably got the slowest squad on the game. Think Lamela or The Ox are probably my fastest but other than that I've got some right slouches. Although I gave Cambiasso a stat card to bukld him up a bit

My only real query is that of whether it's worth investing in new console. I'm ready for a new football game in my life (since pes4). I'm swayed by the KP being in it. I have PS3. Is the new gen version sufficiently better to jump in to having a new console for the privilege ?

Yes. The game plays better on the Next Generation console plus there will be other games you will play surely? The 'Old Gen' model is built on the next gen model if that makes sense? You can do things on the Next Generation you cant do on the Old Gen in terms of turning, playing passes.

To be fair, I've done it more than once from kick off at the start of both halves.

 

Boost aside, the ability to walk through a side from centre is stupid.

 

It's not helped because they all stand rigidly in their formations and don't move particularly naturally from the off.

Slowly, but steadily building up my squad on FUT. I told myself to abstain from investing real money for packs, instead opted for purchasing the Season Pass only and relying on buying and selling on the market.

 

I was lucky in terms of packs so far, since I've already obtained a few La Liga or French players that link up well. Got Rodrigo (Valencia) in a pack lately and he's lethal up front.

Oh, regards where to make a decent silver side - whilst trawling through 150c trash for anything re-sellable, I've found quite a lot of pretty good non-rare silver Turkish league cards.

 

Like, cards that really should be rare. Better than a lot of the more expensive players in my squad, frankly.

 

Plus, I got bummed by a silver Turkish league side earlier that was "sweaty" as hell.

Can it be that the clock runs slower on FIFA 15 than in previous installments? 6-minute halves actually last six minutes on FIFA 13, yet in the newest version, it's almost double that.
