The volume of traffic on the roads yesterday was horrific. Had to take the dog to the vet then the wife to Corby (never go to Corby) then collect dog after op. Gridlocks everywhere with no apparent cause…and even back lanes became clogged. It’s just a nonsense.

If Christmas is a time of giving and good will to all, how come no one will give an inch when trying to pull out on to stupidly busy roads?

I've noticed over the years that Thursdays are a particularly busy day on the roads. I don't know why. :dunno:

(Is Corby still know as "Little Scotland" these days)?

I've started to see a trend of more people indicating and not really looking when moving lanes to overtake on the motorway. They'll indicate and move out and whilst they may notice me, they don't consider I'm going a solid 20 mph quicker than them so I have to brake a fair amount to not crash into them.

Tesla drivers.

Seem to be fast over taking the German brands in terms of inability to drive properly.

Case in point 3 tesla drivers all attempting to park in Newarke St on Sunday was painful to watch.

nahh most Tesla drivers are sensible

In All fairness if you have driven one they have a turning circle of a titanic, the steering wheel only goes round 360 where most cars go round 540 that’s why a 3 point turn ends up being a 5-6 point turn

Yep annoying. About as annoying as when people sit in the right hand lane going 68mph

Its not that they are not looking or are not aware that you are going quicker then them.

They don't give a damn. If they want to go into your lane, they will and under their terms and you will have to slam your brakes on to accomodate them.

Almost got rammed into the back of me by a Range Rover because I, God forbid, slowed down and gently braked whilst approaching a busy roundabout near the A5. Can't believe some drivers just approach the roundabout as if it is a continuation of an A road. The driver even flashed me!

You braked for a roundabout? You fool. Thats what your suspension is for 😉

The idiot who hit their brakes on a main road. Only to then put their hazards on whilst continuing to drive at 10 mph.... just to look at someones xmas decorations.

With the increasing trend of doing your house up like Blackpool illuminations, I do wonder how much of an increase in road accidents there are at this time of year.

Getting a puncture this morning was pretty annoying. Only local place who had availability for tomorrow was Kwik Fit and the only tyres they have available are £120+. Convenient...

You can't fit quicker than a kwik fit fitter

The amount of people driving around in thick fog without any lights on at all! It's like 1 out of 3 cars! How can so many people be so oblivious to it!?

Way too many people on the road (both drivers and cyclists) think your lights are solely about helping you see and not also about being seen.

I reckon some of them think they're saving money on their electric bill.

The M6 again; no unusual speed enforcement in place yet the first lane is at 55/60, the second lane 65 and all the level of busy that you can't just nip round them all and weave in before your exit

People who hit your car with their car doors and then walk off without saying sorry even though you were in the car at the time, watching them, and heard the thunk.

And then you see the mark on your door.

You can’t do that mate,” said a witness as a wing mirror fell off after my fist accidentally bumped into it.

Wrong. Apparently I can when there’s just his word against mine.

The usual.

Too many people, not enough infrastructure

Only going on personal experience and having done zero research,I don’t think the traffic is any worse than 25/30 years ago.If anything, changed working habits, better navigational tools and wider motorways have made things slightly better.

No doubt in my mind that it’s worse than it was 15 -20 years ago.

Takes 25-35 minutes to get from one end of Hinckley to another during rush hour.

I'm guessing it's both the number of vehicles but the extent to which they're used as well.

A lot of folk seem to drive madly short distances now - literally to the end of the road to get some milk or whatever. We've got two car parks at our work, one by the building and one about 100 metres away, if that, and some of our staff get lifts from the building to the latter
