Rincewind Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 Hmmmm we'll see. Unfortunately when they target people exploiting it there will be innocent people caught in the crossfire. Stuff like means testing disability benefits I have no problem with. My Mrs is disabled and gets DLA, she knows others on 50k a year getting £300 a month DLA, to me that's ridiculous. They don't need the extra help, but there are lots of disabled people earning very little because of their disability, with higher living costs because of it who do need it, I don't want to see them suffer. I thought they were stopping DLA. I saw a video about a woman who was a lifelong Tory voter had her DLA stopped. She lived in a decent house with a pond in the garden. She said she had thoughtsof throwing herself in. Those with no or little income will be hit hardest. The ones who pay BT for eg.living on their own who sometimes need an overnight careror not always able to share a room with a partner. Now the Tory's do not have Lib Dems breathing down their neck cuts will be harder. Child credits/allowance? Fuel bill allowances for pensioners? concessionary travel? All these have been mentioned and denied. Remove the support at the bottom from a building wall at some point the top half will crash and bury the bottom half. Just had to turn TV off Cameron's doing a victory speech.
Christoph Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 SNP raped Labour/Lib dems this election. Ed Miliband is surely stepping down. Will be interesting to see who will replace him. I can't imagine it to be too much of a challenge to come across more charming then Ed. Also proof that first past the post is an out of date voting system. Smaller parties aren't getting their fair share of representation at all.
Jimothy Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 I will be very interested to see who takes over Labour, and how they regroup. We need a strong Labour party now the Tories look like having a small majority, especially with the SNP being a complete unknown in Westminster. I imagine Andy Burnham will stand again. Chuka Umunna would almost certainly put his names forward too. After that I'd think Yvette Cooper too. Liz Kendell has been tipped as a future leader, but whether she'd stand this time as she only became an MP in 2010 I don't know. Saying that though Cameron stood for leadership in 2005 after only taking a seat for the first time in 2001.

Bellend Sebastian Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 Leicester West's Liz Kendall was mentioned earlier on the BBC as a possible replacement She IS quite fit. #everydaysexism
Strokes Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 I'd happily privatise the NHS, or atleast a system which punishes those wreckless with their health. How does the declaration look currently?
Benji Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 Out of pure interest, has it ever been tested whether polls are ever worth the paper they're written on? I appreciate by their nature it would be difficult to prove, but presumably polls taken very close to the election could be measured against election results. I see this one has less than 2,000 people polled when nearly 30 million people voted in 2010. I just can't help but think they mean the square root of fk all, but maybe I'm just cynical. Fair enough! Still don't trust them.
MiniFox Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 I'd happily privatise the NHS, or atleast a system which punishes those wreckless with their health. How does the declaration look currently? eh? I'll assume you're joking.
Dr The Singh Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 She IS quite fit. #everydaysexism I'd bone her and you at the same time

Just had to turn TV off Cameron's doing a victory speech. They night have renamed it but it hasn't stopped. Lots of people have been reassessed, that's still on going as well. I'm fully expecting my Mrs to have her DLA stopped, as deaf people aren't seen as disabled enough.
Dr The Singh Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 Ok, so why do you fear for the NHS, or more particularly why more under the Tories than anyone else? There are clear problems, to blame the government for everything and suggest it would be better under Labour is just taking the easy route no? I find blanket statements about the NHS to be silly. Stop being so patronising, you bitch

Rincewind Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 One or two on Facebook saying it was fixed. I doubt it but one poster said she asked if she could use a pen and was told yes. I thought it had to be done with a pencil provided. On Channel 4 David Mitchell said turn out was down but the number of stolen pencils was up by 500,000. (or similar)
Strokes Posted 8 May 2015 Posted 8 May 2015 eh? I'll assume you're joking. Not at all, why should premiums for self abusers be split evenly?
