Pearson's post match comments?

He was saying something about players not playing if they aren't meeting the right standards and he seemed to be inferring that they weren't meeting these standards. Is this possibly why there weren't any wingers starting?

I'm probably looking too far in to it but Pearson seemed annoyed.

Pearson seemed annoyed ? how can you tell the difference?

Pearson came across as a complete **** in that interview. I don't care about this, I don't care about that. Well start caring sunshine, before you join the dole queue.

What comes accross is Pearson's unbelievable arrogance. He would get more sympathy if he showed some humility and took more responsibility. He's lost the plot.

Seemed like a massive go at Mahrez to me. I even think him saying he doesnt care what people think was a message to him as well. Harsh if it was

Apart from the wages he commands I'm not sure why he should be arrogant. He's suffered one appalling tactical run while manager here I started wondering if we'd ever win again and nothing about his handling of this latest mini crisis suggests he's suddenly become a tactical genius. We should never have lost today's game. West Brom were okay - and especially mobile up front - but weplayed the first half as if it was a damage limitation exercise not as if we intended to press the game and win. As you and others suggest, he needs to look to himself first.

I am missing this Mahrez stuff, what was said and why is it directed at Riyad?

Thought he was referring to Knockaert and Schlupp.

I didn't like the "don't care what people think" part. Errr, we have to pay to watch that rubbish.

No, I don't understand it either.

I could understand perhaps if as Fox92 has said it was directed at Knockeart after what he was rumoured to have said (even if it was lost in translation and showing ambition) and/or rumoured to have thrown the punch (Which i'm still not sure whether that rumour is true or not), and Schlupp, well that answers itself, despite him being better than whats currently on show.

I like Pearson but if the what I have explaned above is the situation he needs to stop being so stubborn because Knockeart is the only player at the club that can deliver the odd decent corner and as I said Schlupp is better than what's currently on show.

I just felt that things like players will be deselected if they don't work hard enough and some players didnt work hard enough for the team last week, was aimed at Riyad. I'm sure other players like Knockaert are included in his sentiment

Do we expect our manager to come out and say publicly that he's worried about other people's opinions?

This is his style, he'll live or die by it. Just like it was his style last season, the season we won the league.

well how about the midfield being shit for the last 5 and a half games Nigel? only 1 player has played in all of those games and he's been crap in all of them, seems some are more equal than others ...

He said nothing wrong. If you can't take a football manager who sees the players every day and who has spent some time in the game, thinking he knows a little bit more about football than you do then you probably need to stop listening to football manager's interviews. He didn't outright say that, but if he did I don't think you could really argue. If you had all the facts about players fitness, and you saw them every day in training in the build up to this game, you might have had a re-think. But none of us do, and we've got no proof that the outcome would have been any different if he'd gone with another formation. We didn't actually play that badly today really.

Knockaert's not been deselected though, has he? And it sounds as though he's trying as hard as he can to be playing again

We weren't woeful today (I had to pay to go to Swansea - that was a bad performance this really wasn't that bad at all). If you expect us to win every single match then you should stop paying money because there are in fact two teams involved in a game of football.
