Monsell1976 Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 It's frustrating to listen to his comments blaming players, when it's clear for all to see it's his tactics that are the issue. I don't for a second think the players are blamless, but thought most gave it a go today, but confidence looks shattered, and looked clueless in creating a threat. His arrogants like before could lose fans that sit on the fence regards him, and reopen the dislike from before, from those that don't like him, after such a good season and a turn around in his attitude, I hope he halts this crisis in confidence soon
foxinsocks Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 I never expect Nige to say what he's thinking... but I was worried that he says his role as simply improving players! His role is the shape, tactics and strategy of the team - and I think he is struggling. When you look at today's team selection is defies any reason or logic... Ok away at Swansea is tough... Newcastle are perhaps resurgent... but I have now seen us draw with crappy Burnley and lose to crappy WBA... we are throwing away points that should be ours (...we even scored wba's goal for them). We are at home, but, Ok play three central midfielders - but why not play mahrez who has some creativity and could add some width on either side and ulloa who can battle with their defenders rather than King and Nugent? I like Nugent, but, a no10 who can't score is a luxury - of course I expect Nige likes him a lot... King is popular but he is too light weight... Ulloa showed he can use his strength to deal with the centre back when he came on. The team selection and tactics suggest Nigel doesn't know what he is doing - what the shape should be?... and who should be in it?... Nigel is a nice guy but he needs help.... he has stepped up to the prem and he is struggling bug time - he can sort it but he need help. Nigel said it was a good display but didn't mention the creativity issue - we did not create changes or score any goals - if he had started with Mahrez and Ulloa instead of Nugent and King I would, at least, think he was sensible... ignore what he says... look at what he does.... and what that says about him - he is lost!
Leicester Lass Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 I am missing this Mahrez stuff, what was said and why is it directed at Riyad? Stringer mentioned about lack of width and specifically said about having Mahrez on the bench today. Pearson then went on to say that at Swansea we were 'carrying' a few players and if players don't meet the minimum standards he requires then they will be deselected regardless of who they are. I thought it was clearly aimed at Mahrez too.

KFS Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Such an outdated mind set. I'm sorry, you can't win games solely on effort. You need class and ability as well. This is coming from the man who played Paul Gallagher week in week out- he was a fanny. Stop fvcking around the lot of you and get back to team that started the season so well. We're better than this shit.
Fox92 Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 We weren't woeful today (I had to pay to go to Swansea - that was a bad performance this really wasn't that bad at all). If you expect us to win every single match then you should stop paying money because there are in fact two teams involved in a game of football. If you wanna talk about paying for bad performances, I can assure you I've seen a lot worse than today. I remember going to Hull, to Plymouth, to Wolverhampton when we've played woeful. But, I do not expect us to win every game. But since Manchester United, I have not seen one encouraging performance. In that time, we've played Palace, Burnley, Newcastle, Swansea and West Brom - I do expect more than one point, I do expect better performances. That's my opinion, as a supporter, as a paying fan. A Spurs fan got it spot on, on BBC 5Live last week. Have a read/listen at that. It's people like you who annoy me, like do you just never criticise?
sylofox Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 The blow up about Burnley is not like NP (comments about other clubs) The I don't care what people think seems an over the top comment and praps aimed at fans as much as a reply to a Stringer question. Seems he may be struggling a little with life in the prem friday press conference plus after match. I don't think he really likes the pr press bit and he never looks comfy doing that. Even after games last season he never looked happy doing after match interviews. Also had the blow up Mr Balloon head early on. Not sure it is tac tics more he is not coping with life in the prem and so not doing his job as he should or would like too. Catch 22 means we could be fvcked.
Larry_LCFC Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Do we expect our manager to come out and say publicly that he's worried about other people's opinions? This is his style, he'll live or die by it. Just like it was his style last season, the season we won the league. I expect the manager to atleast value the view and opinions of the fans who pay into the club every week. Basically saying I couldn't care less what they think isn't going to do him any favours.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 There was nothing wrong with Nigel's comments after the game and it's nothing we wouldn't say if randoms were saying how much better they could do our jobs better than us.

I criticise when we play badly and the club is clearly regressing. Moaning at bad performances or a short bad run of form, when the club is pretty clearly moving forward seems counter-productive to me. I'm not going to moan about the last few defeats because I believe Nigel Pearson is taking this club forward and I don't want the owners to think that we as a fan base can't see that, because they might do something silly and wreck the progress the club is making. We're in a relegation battle, we knew that would be the case this season, and I want Nigel Pearson to be in charge of that relegation battle even though we've had a few poor performances (not include this one, because this was okay). And frankly I think moaning about a minor run of bad form would be a bit ungrateful after the joy this manager and team have given me over the course of the last two years.
Larry_LCFC Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 https://soundcloud.com/mikemccarthybbc/pearson-i-dont-care-what-other-people-think Sounds like a man in trouble to me. Incredibly defensive of his tactics, despite them being a complete flop. He cant emphasise enough how much he "doesn't care" about others opinions.
lee7 Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 I hope the 'I don't care what people think' comment was made at the players and not 'us' the fans. Like another poster has said we are the ones paying to watch them underperform. He really needs to start playing to our strengths rather than playing a team to just nullify our oppositions attacking threats. I really hope he can turn this around and the players start performing for him again.

Still plenty of time to turn this around, but the pressure is really on him, and with his interviews you can tell he's feeling it.
NewburyFox Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 I can't see anything wrong with what he said. He perhaps could have put it a little more subtly, appreciate their concerns etc, but as the manager he can't be influenced by what the fans think regarding players and tactics. He's the manager and will live and die by his decisions. Regarding Mahrez (as I think it's fairly obvious that his comments are aimed at him), leaving out our most creative player on a day like today when we are crying out for creativity is a poor decision on the face of it. His workrate isn't as high as Vardy's but he's certainly not a passenger during matches. That being said, maybe he's not put a shift in training this week and this is his punishment.

It's us who paid to see the Stoke win, what Foxes Talk voted as the greatest game in our history against Man United a few weeks ago, exciting draws with Arsenal and Everton. I think we've had a pretty good deal so far. We've just been promoted, we're 17th, stop moaning.
EnglishOxide Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 There was nothing wrong with Nigel's comments after the game and it's nothing we wouldn't say if randoms were saying how much better they could do our jobs better than us. Spot on. If it's arrogance, then so be it. He don't need to come out and be sorry. I prefer he remains bullish and keeps things in house. He has done so much for us, and yes he and the players are making some mistakes, but he will know exactly what they are when he analyses things on Monday. He don't need to take anybodys opinions on board apart from his staff.
Raj Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 so now your saying hes fallen out with Mahrez too??? so thats both our wingers he wont play...jesus!!!

I think we've had a pretty good deal so far. We've just been promoted, we're 17th, stop moaning. Those games have gone now. We've also played poor against Burnley, Newcastle, Palace, Swansea and now recently today. We can keep saying "we did this, we did that" until we are relegated (and for the record I totally have faith in Pearson but his selections and tactics recently have been very questionable). Results against Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United were "bonus points". If we can't beat the likes of West Brom and Burnley then what's the point?
LcFc_Smiv Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Personally I wouldn't care much for over the top reactions from idiots telling me how to do my job. You pay to watch matches and you have every right to give your opinion but the way our fans slate the team and manager is astonishing. Technically we are relegation candidates for this season, that's not being critical, it's realistic, we have no right to think we are any better than that and as long as we finish 17th at least this season has been successful. There are 3 worse teams than us, we can get results we've proven that so far, today wasn't as devastating as many of you are making out !
LCFC Rennie Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 He's let himself down in his interviews this year.
suffolk fox Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Mystifies me, can you defend the indefensible? No, regardless of who the comments are aimed at the arrogance of the man is beyond belief. I still think, he should not be sacked but we are in freefall at the moment and nothing seems to be working We are playing West Brom at home who lets be honest from the moment of the kick off were playing for a draw. They were woeful, we were worse. Our corners and freekicks were abysmal what do theybdo in training? Start your strongest team for gods sake, what has happened to our passing and moving at ti es we get the ball and appear devoid of ideas as to what to do with it? I know we will pass it backwards to Kasper to hoof it up the pitch to Vardy and Nugent who were easy meat for Lescott and Dawson all game. I dont think no shots on target first half and only two. On target second half are going to trouble any team. Drinkwater and Konchesky had absolute appaling games and both should have been subbed. What does Simpson have to do to get a game? NIgel does need to learn humility cos if he carries on with this billy big I dont care what people thinks attitude he could be gone sooner rather than later? Perhaps it was aimed at the owners?
LcFc_Smiv Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Results against Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United were "bonus points". If we can't beat the likes of West Brom and Burnley then what's the point? What a stupid comment, points are points no matter who we beat. We compete against 19 other teams in this league and we don't deserve to take points off of any of them without playing the match and getting some form of result. Yes the odds are more favourable against some of the teams like Burnley, QPR, Sunderland, but it doesn't mean we should be taking something from them.
DanTheFox07 Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 I think when you hear him say I don't care what people think about the formation etc say's a lot, the fact he mention's he pick's a team that is capable of winning that game. Pearson for me got the line up and tactic's wrong against Swansea, I mean fundamental mistake's like playing Vardy and ulloa on the wing. Then today he pick's a midfield made up of 4 central midfield player's at home, that is so negative and what does he expect us to create chances wise. Pearson is proving to be tactically and technically naive in this league and will that change? will he change his style to suit the need's of the team? because for me he has frozen out Knockeart who imo can make a difference. Make no mistake, we can be nice and give Pearson the chance to prove that he is the right man to take us forward but don't kid yourself at the same time and say that his job won't be on the line.
