EGBFitness Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 We need to clean our attacks up sharpish, we can't expect to keep letting them get at us out wide and walk home with a 0-0. We'll need at least 2 to win this and I'm not sure we can get that right now. You wouldn't take a point against a strong and in-form Southampton away from home?
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Poor half. Crisis of confidence, very little attacking threat. Vardy isn't being fed through and the lack of width is frustrating. Another piece of tactical genius by NP
Merging Cultures Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I'm streaming the match from Lesotho to Leicester for my brother!!
LanguedocFox Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Not a bad first half IMO. Obviously came with a game plan to sit back and let them come at us. Schlupps probably been one of our best players in first half (be interesting to find all the Schlupp haters if he keeps it up in second half) Would take a point but want to see little bit more and challenge Forster. I'm not a hater, but I think he's better in defence than midfield, which is where he's been playing recently. But he's having a pretty good game.
LCFCFOX6190 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Still, a draw would be brilliant at Southampton. We need a confidence boosting result.
Stadt Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Are people seriously expecting us to be dominating or winning? Yeah from the sounds of it we've not been great but who would have been happy going into ht at 0-0?
danfox76 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 ok its fair to say we are set up to concede possesion but how many passes have gone wayward.. we give it back far to easily
Matt Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Defending very deep, not been that bad I don't think but we need to be more positive and I think Southampton are for the taking should we take opportunities to counter attack. Big half coming up though.
Harry - LCFC Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Poor half. Crisis of confidence, very little attacking threat. Vardy isn't being fed through and the lack of width is frustrating. Another piece of tactical genius by NP Mediocre is probably a better word to use. A poor half would look a lot worse than 0-0 against the team in second spot.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Who remembers Stoke away? We won that so in most peoples' minds we pissed all over them with 759% possession and had 328 shots on target.
HoustonFox Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I'll take 0-0 at HT. Jeff been good at LB. Couple of times it showed where his pace has made a difference and some good crunching tackles. Cambiasso has been out of place again in my opinion. I'd fancy Mahrez or even Nuge coming on and King dropping a little deeper. Ulloa and Vardy very isolated and working hard but only on scraps. Actually think this set up is better for Nugent as his link up play is better thank Ulloa but he's not offered any goal threat but then again Nuge may have link but no goal threat! Dilemmas! Couple of good little interchanges between the midfield. Overall doing well against a very good side. Keep it for now with maybe a tweak later on.
Master Fox Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Just wish we could attack more and create more chances.
Carl the Llama Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I don't get all the negativity. this is a team second in the PL, won ten of their last 11, and we've limited them to one shot. Bollocks to all this - we're doing OK. Not being negative, just a fair appraisal of the match. So'ton have a goal in them and on evidence of the play so far - and in previous matches - we don't. We've done well in this match, it just looks like it will be another one where that means nowt unfortunately.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Mediocre is probably a better word to use. A poor half would look a lot worse than 0-0 against the team in second spot. Yeah, to be fair we have defended fairly well. The complete lack of attack is worrying though.
cjslcfc Posted 8 November 2014 Author Posted 8 November 2014 What the hell is going on in this thread? I swear people expect us to be carving them open... We've lacked quality going forward again but have defended well and Schmeichel hasn't had to make a save. These are 2nd. Won 10 of their last 11. Concede 5 (FIVE) all season. No wonder Nige goes on about managing expectations!! That was an alright half, all things considered. We just need to panic less going forward and use that diamond to keep possession. Surely everyone here would be happy with 0-0 at HT?
Guest LCFC_World Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 the team needs to relax, then they will find their rhythm.
justfoxes Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I'm streaming the match from Lesotho to Leicester for my brother!! What's the link is it iPhone friendly at work so couldn't go
Harry - LCFC Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Yeah, to be fair we have defended fairly well. The complete lack of attack is worrying though. I would agree with you there. I'm reasonably satisfied taking this game on it's own but long-term we simply have to cause more problems.
filbertway Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Should be 1-1, Mane (keep thinking of Dean Marney every time I hear his name) and Morgan should both have scored. Decent half from us, it'll be interesting when we decide to open up and have a go.
Carl the Llama Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 You wouldn't take a point against a strong and in-form Southampton away from home? Of course I would. But "we can't expect to keep letting them get at us out wide and walk home with a 0-0".

But he's having a pretty good game. I agree with you, I think Schlupps best position is at LB, he is not a winger. But there's alot who rate Konch and don't think much of Schlupp. I've said for weeks I want to see Schlupp at LB so nice to see him have a good half
Merging Cultures Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 What's the link is it iPhone friendly at work so couldn't go Sorry mate, just a private google hangout with my brother
justfoxes Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Makes you think what Knocky has to do to get in the squad as he played really well for the u21 side
EGBFitness Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Of course I would. But "we can't expect to keep letting them get at us out wide and walk home with a 0-0". Playing diamond shape we was always going to allow them to have width. They have rarely threatened from that first half so wouldn't mind another half like that in second half.
