Guest ttfn Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 At least Nick Powell came on and showed us he's not going to be the person he's expected to be anymore. I thought that was pretty obvious last week when his shot went out for a throw in. Tough for a young player coming in to this though.
smudger63 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 The championship standard defence is the biggest problem. Pearson knows we're not good enough at the back, and feels we have to play defensively to try and give them cover. It's not as simple as being more positive if the whole team has no confidence in whats behind them. So if that is the case, wasn`t it his job in the summer to bring in defenders who were going to be good enough. Pearson just needs to start thinking about us and our strengths, and stop worrying about whatever team we are playing. Have we gone into any game this season with the same positive intent as we did last season, i don`t believe we have.
john ridley Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Big problem could be that some of those not good enough are on nice 4 year deals ,might be hard to shift .
1993fox Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Nothing wrong with his corners at all. Almost all of them today were into a good area with whip Can you hear now or do I need to type it in capitals? You're entitled to your opinion... But no. We are one of the worst at set-pieces in this league.
sdb Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I actually thought we weren't that bad today, when it came to shape/discipline/work rate...the set-up is just way too negative. We've got a 0% win/draw ratio when we've set up to 'not concede' this season. Maybe we should change this and... ...'have a go'?
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Like the one that landed on Morgans head on the penalty spot then, or the several that were into the same area and Southampton players headed them clear. Penalty spot is not a great corner mate, it's hard to score a header from 12 yards (hence why I said it was a bit too far out) you want it in between the pen spot and the six yard box ideally, first rule of football set pieces. several? I can remember him clearing everyone once and out-swinging one into a completely undangerous area, and we only had four, so you must be seeing things

filbertway Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I thought it was a decent performance from us, we looked competitive for the majority of the game and created 2 clear cut chances that we should have bagged (Morgan's header and Wood's...whatever that was). Longs finish was tastey, lovely bending effort to be fair to him. I thought Schlupp at left back was a good idea, it was good to have that extra outlet that Konchesky doesn't offer. I'd rather we played 2 actual wingers and just have them squeeze in more central when we're defending as we don't have many many outlets for the players when they're on the ball.
Dr The Singh Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 People dont understand just how difficult this league is says Nigel. Hmmm. What a lying ****, he said he thought we would suprise the league ie be better then people thought. Now he saying different Sorry Mrs Pearson but hes picking shit teams and needs to sort it out or do one. Has Mahrez had yur daughter lately?I'm with Mrs Pearson right now, she didn't post it
tickler28 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 We have failed to score a single goal in 4 games...and 5 out of the past 6. Pearson has lost the plot. I think he's a good manager but clearly out of his depth with an inadequate squad for the premier league...very very depressing times. Was happier in the Championship where we not only scored goals but won matches!! Carry on like this and I may get my wish!!
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Still reckon Cambi is the answer? I don't think he's the problem that's for certain.
Dr The Singh Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I don't think he's the problem that's for certain.Your the problem ma. Pabs
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Your the problem ma. Pabs I've got 99 problems but the singh aint one. Hit me.
suffolk fox Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Watching the qpr game against city at the moment that is the definition of giving it a bloody go Austin could have gphad a hattrick inside of fifteen minutes.
Beliall Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 We all know what time it is. Screen Shot 2014-11-08 at 16.41.00.png Screen Shot 2014-11-08 at 16.41.12.png , didnt know we could do that, oh the relief!
tickler28 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Tap up Pul is because he'd be only option right now...unlikely he'd want to go to Villa as they have 0.00 cash to spend
IOWFOX Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Havent read the thread but the diamond had to go. They had so much space out wide, it was ridiculous. No mahrez again, he is the only one that looks like unlocking a defence yet cant get in the squad. Starting to get abit worried. One positive, as much as we put down our atmosphere. Atleast we'll never be as shit as them lot.
Zapp Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 performances, below the required standard manager, aware of this fans, pathetic for thinking getting rid of pearson is the way to go at this stage im sorry but the thing that depresses me more than our results at the moment is reading and hearing the comments of fans loving how they can have a moan and feel like they are more knowledgeable than pearson. quick reminder for you YOU'RE NOT. and if you are, please post on here the in depth analysis of sunderland ready for the next game, as well as the capabilities of our own squad. explain your attitudes to each player & what you would tell each and every one of them regarding their performances so far, what you expect of them and how they can improve their chances of playing. this way when we lose (not mine but the 'pearson out' brigades attitude) you can compare how correct you are. i dont think thats too much to ask from people clearly more qualified than pearson. is it?
orbison Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Too many of our players aren't good enough for this level. The only mistake Nigel made was placing faith in the players that got promoted to step up and be good enough for this level. He needs to get rid of some of the dross not good enough for the Premier League and bring in a few more players with quality in the January transfer window. Nugent/Wood/Hammond/Konchesky all not good enough for this level. none of the players above played today except wood as sub, todays eleven looked feckin worse, im gonna break the eleventh commandment, alloa and vardy are not good enough.
Kitchandro Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Tap up Pul is because he'd be only option right now...unlikely he'd want to go to Villa as they have 0.00 cash to spend Get Pulis in because our current manager is too negative, that makes sense.

It is really, I'm not paid to spend that much time explaining to some no mark on Foxes Talk the ins and outs of every single player in our squad. If it's taken Pearson up until now to realise playing negatively isn't working, then he is less knowledgeable than about 80% of this forum. The other 20% are retards. It was clear before we started doing it, it was staring everyone in the face after the Newcastle game, and if anyone can't see it now they need to take up a different sport to watch/make their career in.
Kitchandro Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 But can't get any points?!?! We won't get any points unless we try to score some goals. That's not Pulis. It would not work with us.
