matty98 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 absolutely pointless playing Ulloa unless we have wingers on, we might aswell have had 10 men today, Ulloa and vardy will never work, need to stop playing to accommodate certain players.
jim5000 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 What's the difference between Nigels daughter and our defense? Nigels daughter only gets penetrated by our own players. To be fair, we did score an own goal last week.......
Raj Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 this place is gonna be SO depressing for 2 weeks!!!
Matt Posted 8 November 2014 Author Posted 8 November 2014 this place is gonna be SO depressing for 2 weeks!!! Not sure it is, atleast we can't lose next week, happy days!
Unabomber Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 If we are relying on your mrs opinion ..we are fooked..
Dr The Singh Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 The missis knows her football. She said the problem could well be Pearson. He's a limited manager. Strict disciplinarian, but not flexible enough for the Prem. The players will work hard for him (true) and generally like him. But the Prem is a tough, tough division. And it seems that he doesn't have the ability to adapt to the next level. She could be right. I think he's not signed sensibly in the summer. We are really no better than last season. And to top it all..Burnley won..at least I made a few quid out of that. Mrs col jas a mighty fine ass
J.Lisemore Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 So negative its unbelievable. Anybody with half a brain cell could have predicted we were eventually going to lose that. As a football team goes at the minute, we look depressed and beaten from the start. No, I didnt expect us to win today but ever since the Man Utd game,we've suddenly handed out respect to every side we've played...highlighting their strengths and trying to nulify them... we should be concentrating on our fvcking strenghths! So frustrating because this side is capable of so much better.
ScouseFox Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 du du du du du du du du du du du du du du riyad mahrez jsjdorkehheywyysfioroebvtcevjaj!!!!!!!!!!!
Fox92 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Even Burnley are closing us down "Closing us down". We're both in a relegation battle. What else did you expect prior to August?
Babylon Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 we can all sit here and defend Pearson and say he shouldn't go, however, it's a results based business and Nigel is failing. Usually two+two = gone, doesn't matter what we think or say. That's simplifying it a bit isn't it. Look at all three promoted teams, all currently not good enough. If the owners offered him 50 million and he chose not to spend it fair enough. If they gave him £10m and 30k a week max, then you are handicapping him to start with. Currently it's shit, and he needs to realise its not working ASAP.
Bettsj2 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 So is everyone still backing the manager then or do we need to lose a few more in embarrasing fashion without even having ONE shot on target??
foxoffderby Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Im a fan of NP and think he will turn it around, but I rather his teams had a go instead of this parking the bus nonsense and hoping we sneak one at the other end.
iancognito Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I'm more depressed by the way our fans are giving up more than the team's performance. The Pearson must go stuff is just knee-jerk, ill-thought out crap. I'll agree the diamond isn't working and we need width but maybe aim some of the flak at the players you were idolising 6 months ago. Drinkwater, Wood, Schlupp and De Laet aren't up to the top flight and whoever does the set pieces needs to speak to James about how to take a corner. The last four games have shown we need maybe 3 top players in January to help the Championship standard players who are struggling
Kitchandro Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 The championship standard defence is the biggest problem. Pearson knows we're not good enough at the back, and feels we have to play defensively to try and give them cover. It's not as simple as being more positive if the whole team has no confidence in whats behind them. Right, I'm going to pick this to pieces now... We started the season with this defence. And yes, it did concede goals. BUT, there was less pressure on it because we were capable of scoring at the other end. We scored 2 against Everton, 1 against Arsenal and 5 against Manchester United. None of those games we lost, despite conceding at least 1. Since then, we've sat back. We've scored 2 goals, both against Burnley. We've conceded 10. We've lost 5 out of 6. Now. Please tell me - where is the evidence that we're better off sitting back? It's so utterly obvious that when your defence is weak like ours, the last thing you want to do is make them defend for 90 minutes. What we should be doing, what we were doing, is taking the pressure of the defence and giving us more chance of winning the game, regardless of how many we concede, by actually scoring some. This is how the team gets confidence. What we have now, is no one with any confidence. Not defenders, not strikers, not midfielders. Because WE decided to be negative, put all the pressure on the back four and negate our own attack. Now, we're scuppered. It does not take a great footballing tactician to see that being negative is the reason we have started to struggle. It doesn't remotely suit most teams let alone us.
Libertine Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Unacceptable. Absolutely zero threat whatsoever. Again.

MooseBreath Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 We can only pray that Pearson has finally seen enough of these dogshit tactics now and goes back to a formation that works with our players. The fact he refused to change even after we went a goal down doesn't bode well though. His stubbornness might just be his undoing. A few more games of this and he'll lose my support.
v6rat Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Losing away 2-0 to second in the table, Ok, Losing away 2-0 to second in the table, without a shot on target, not acceptable, Thinking that our defence can defend against any premiership side for 90 minutes to grab a point, laughable
bovril Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Big wankathon on Final score cos Burnley won Ironic cos a big wankathon would have been a much better way for me to pass my Saturday afternoon.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Right, I'm going to pick this to pieces now... We started the season with this defence. And yes, it did concede goals. It does not take a great footballing tactician to see that being negative is the reason we have started to struggle. It doesn't remotely suit most teams let alone us. At the same time, if we hadn't made Southampton work for their first goal today, they'd have battered us. That being said we need to return to scoring goals at home and fast.
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 The worrying thing is not one player for us played badly. As someone has mentioned, the players all did everything they possibly could today. Considering NP buys players based on stats and supposedly prepares for games thoroughly, how can he possibly not understand that our best hope is going out and attacking teams. He's the one who said 'you won't stay in this division if you don't create and score goals.' He's doing his best to prove that right by setting up so negatively and getting us relegated
