Dr The Singh Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 It's not losing that's the problem, but the way in which we bend over backwards and be penetrated. Pearson should be ashamed, and be honest about his contribution
cjslcfc Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 One thing this bad run is telling me is how I dislike the negativity, hatred and impatience of a lot of football fans. Really does annoy me.
Claridge Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 What a lying ****, he said he thought we would suprise the league ie be better then people thought. Now he saying different I'm with Mrs Pearson right now, she didn't post it Will you and Tony leave her alone Riyhad or you will never get picked.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 then stop claiming you know it all mate. its not unreasonable for this no mark to want proof of how youre tactically superior to the guy who works with the players day in day out. because youre letting your heart rule your head. knee jerk reactions. the kind of person that would be considered a joke if you were a chairman. when the next guy loses his 1st few games then what? sack him or accept he needs time before being relegated with a less qualified manager than nige ready for the championship youre clueless if you think getting rid of the guy whos built this squad over years in favour of pulis or any other manager will be the best option saints who are flying this year and tearing apart teams who arent solid defensively. im curious as to why youd prefer being spanked 8-0 like sunderland trying to attack a bit more instead of try and get a point (or more) in a similar fashion to our game against stoke. I wouldn't claim to be "tactically superior" to the man but it is a worry that I can see the diamond formation is a waste of time and he can't.
One Legged Beaver Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 It was always going to be a tough ask to get anything at Southampton and I don't think we were that bad to be honest. Diamond has to go though as everyone agrees with I'm sure. We're certainly at our best when we have wingers running at opposition players and providing some spark in the final third. Secondly, for all the hate that Chris Wood gets, and is partially deserved after that shot, he is our only striker that actually makes an effort to just get himself in the box, and it isn't surprising that our only meaningful chance fell to him because of this. Ulloa needs to stop coming deep as his hold up play is quite frankly shocking, he takes far too many touches before he offloads it and often just halts our attacks.
Mark_w Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 It's not losing that's the problem, but the way in which we bend over backwards and be penetrated. Pearson should be ashamed, and be honest about his contribution I'm pretty sure it's the losing that's the problem. If we hadn't conceded that late goal against Burnley and if we'd put in a similar level of performance but had a little bit more luck against West Brom and the result had been reversed then no one would be calling for his head. For the vast majority of people the style of play only becomes an issue when we're losing. It's not like we've been smashed to pieces by anyone, we've just not been quite good enough for the last four or five weeks. No one complained about the narrow diamond when we beat Man United, no one complained about hoofing the ball up to Chris Wood in search of an equalizer when we played Everton. People are complaining now because of the results, and until they change, no matter how we play, people will complain. It is the results rather than the performances that actually matter. Having said that, I think the Pearson Out calls right now are ridiculous given the progress we've made under Nigel. We were always going to lose a lot of games this season, and were inevitably likely to have a bad run, Nigel has earned a season surely?

Winning by playing shit is acceptable but we are no where near capable of doing so!

Speaking for myself its definitely the performances that are the issue, and we weren't playing exactly the same system against United. I struggle to see how anyone can think we are playing alright, since the half time whistle blew against Burnley we've been poor, we only looked ok against West Brom because they didn't turn up either yet still left with all three points. Formation needs to change
hamptonfox Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Too negative from the start, too scared of being overrun in CMF so stock the team full of CMF players, and consequently have no width to spring a counter-attack with, to give us a goal, for something to fight for. When are the management going to realise that 0-0 isn't a result to defend for 90 minutes, we go down with 0-0 results game after game. We need to set up to take a lead, get Mahrez on one wing and a.n.other on the other wing and lets grow some balls.
steveherbe Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Positives from today. Met up with Tom, Gaz and Emma, top company. Chelsea fan at game texted us at half time, "its like a library in the home end". Saints fan (firstimer) messaged, "you lot are noisy". Spag bol is on the go now we are home. Fans were bloody good, congrats to all who made the effort. Negatives? Wood is useless, Kasper has to go, diamond dont work, we need mahrez. Oh, schluppy was good, thats how crap the rest of them were. Wasil ok as well, cheap beer, £1.90 for a pint of Doom Bar in Varsity. Home by 6.20, fookin wet thru, traffic in soton is shocking. Ulloa is not the answer, poor. Nuge was bloody awful again, didnt see him do one thing. Just no bloody threat, surely we are better than this? And Nige reckons that was our best 11? He must be sniffing glue

What, based on today, has made you think that? Was he at fault for any of the goals? I don't think so.
1993fox Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Kasper has to go? What, based on today, has made you think that? Was he at fault for any of the goals? I don't think so. About the 1st goal I think it was within saving range. His distribution was horrendous throughout the game. 2nd goal was started by just that.
Soup Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Got covered in beer in the concourse, was a laugh at the time but now the only jacket i've bought with me stinks.I really need to grow up.
StanSP Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 About the 1st goal I think it was within saving range. His distribution was horrendous throughout the game. 2nd goal was started by just that. Meh. Decent finish I think by Long. Very well-placed. I don't think Kasper should be sold just cos his distribution is poor. That's something that can be improved. 2nd goal wasn't his fault. We played a high line and the run was timed perfectly by Long. Don't want this to sound like I'm giving Long too much credit but to say Kasper has to go is wrong.
VLC86 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Get Pulis in because our current manager is too negative, that makes sense. Get Pulis in because our current manager is partial to a head butt, that makes sense.

He did nothing wrong today as such but I said it last week and I think you agreed, Kasper wants to thank his lucky stars Hamer is injured, although I doubt Pearson would have the balls to change it around anyway.
MHC Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Get Pulis in because our current manager is too negative, that makes sense. I'd rather be negative and win then negative and get embarrassed week in week out. Pulis knows how to compete in this league and will help us grind out results. I'm not 100% behind the Pearson out brigade but if we don't win the next two I will be, and I'll want Pulis as his replacement.
steveherbe Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Kasper has to go? What, based on today, has made you think that? Was he at fault for any of the goals? I don't think so. Based on no confidence in him when ball is crossed in. Decent shot stopper, but apart from that he is sunday league. Hamer for me every time

I did agree, true. Based on no confidence in him when ball is crossed in. Decent shot stopper, but apart from that he is sunday league. Hamer for me every time 'BASED ON TODAY'. What did he do wrong today when it came to crosses? Did we concede from any crosses?
steveherbe Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I did agree, true. 'BASED ON TODAY'. What did he do wrong today when it came to crosses? Did we concede from any crosses? Based on today, several crosses in that he should have claimed, just stands on his line and lets the defenders deal with it. But we didnt conceed, so thats ok. Its opinions, and mine is, Kasper is not good enough. Guy next to me thought the same, even though he was my son!
StanSP Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 One thing that predictably happened today - a player getting their first goal for the club against us. Typical.
roger the dodger Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 what did the owners say 180 million over the next three seasons well that is starting to backfire is it not. top six within 3 to 5 seasons don.t make me laug. we will be lucky to be out of the bottom three come Xmas at this rate

But all these loses aren't good for business.
