I can understand today was all about not losing and trying to stop the rot but parking the bus was always going to be risky tactics, some heroic defending but it was only a matter of time till they scored and two great goals by Long! would rather see us have a go without being too reckless against the form teams as we did show a little bit of a threat in the last 10 mins.

I'm more depressed by the way our fans are giving up more than the team's performance.

The Pearson must go stuff is just knee-jerk, ill-thought out crap. I'll agree the diamond isn't working and we need width but maybe aim some of the flak at the players you were idolising 6 months ago. Drinkwater, Wood, Schlupp and De Laet aren't up to the top flight and whoever does the set pieces needs to speak to James about how to take a corner.

The last four games have shown we need maybe 3 top players in January to help the Championship standard players who are struggling

Nothing wrong with his corners at all. Almost all of them today were into a good area with whip. Our players just cannot win headers I'm afraid.

Certain players may not be up to the top flight but there are plenty who are (Drinky is one of them), but they are being massively stifled by our brain-dead tactics.

Can't people see the hugely obvious link to the way we were playing before the Palace game, the way we have played since and the change in results?

we have to have more creativity - Mahrez has to start; we need to play at pace and find the front guys with early diagonal balls - not run to the byline. Southampton away was always going to be tough - but we need more surprises to get anything. Pearson has to take responsibility for the shape of the teams and the tactics - he needs to stop bring wood on for hoofball - we should be slicker than that . NP is being outwitted by the tactics of the other teams... he needs to get a tactician in with experience of the prem. The WBA game was most worrying - we had a team selection that couldn't open them up... they just waited for us to make a mistake and took the points home!

whilst I disagree with "pearson out", knee-jerk would be if we'd won 2 or 3 done really well then lost one game. we've not scored for a month, we've not crossed the half way line for about 3 away games and were quite simply diabolical atm. can see why people are saying it.

So is everyone still backing the manager then or do we need to lose a few more in embarrasing fashion without even having ONE shot on target??

Shooting is overrated. It's all about playing Championship players.

Wish you were in charge pal then we could go to places like Southampton and lose 8-0 like Sunderland.

They weren't actually that massive no as we'd already got 9 points on the board and we were relatively comfortable. Sunderland and QPR actually are quite huge. If we fail to win those two then fair enough have your little knee jerk hissie fit. After a game we were always going to struggle in I don't see the point.

Exactly. People get carried away when describing how important certain games are. There were people calling Swansea a 'must win' game FFS. It was ridiculous.

It's only now that I think you can start to think about using that phrase to describe the next match.

So negative its unbelievable. Anybody with half a brain cell could have predicted we were eventually going to lose that. As a football team goes at the minute, we look depressed and beaten from the start. No, I didnt expect us to win today but ever since the Man Utd game,we've suddenly handed out respect to every side we've played...highlighting their strengths and trying to nulify them... we should be concentrating on our fvcking strenghths! So frustrating because this side is capable of so much better.

This guy gets it.

Everyones entitled to their own opinion. Some are positive some are not

Will you still want NP if we are bottom by Jan?

Playing like this we will be and i want my club to stay up

Thats my opinion

Big wankathon on Final score cos Burnley won

So much bitterness.

I don't get their 'feud' some of our fans have with Burnley, yes their manager is an idiot but thats about all I can say about it, they got promoted, we got promoted, we're both in a relegation battle, i'm sick of all this tit-for-tat, my dads bigger than your dad.

We had our limelight (aka 'big wankathon') when we beat United, when we started the season so well, have we fulfilled our potential since? Have we fuck.

Can't wait to see what NP says. He needs to show some humility now and admit its a mess.

One thing is certain. He wont put his hand up and admit his bloody mistakes. That angers me more than the dreadful string of  performances.

Try and be a man Pearson, and just own up to your catalogue of mistakes, that you have made since the end of last season.

If you can't do that, then you are unworthy of managing our club.

Well, result-wise not as bad as expected.

If you're gonna set up not to lose, chances are you'll probably lose unless you perfect the art of defending in all areas.

I just wish Pearson will go back to setting up how we used to - high intensity, pressure high up the pitch, wingers on. NOT setting up to invite pressure and bank on the counter attack. It's shown on more than 1 occasion it doesn't work and won't work. Not yet anyway. Players aren't familiar with the system we're playing now and it's too risky to try out against teams like Southampton.

Thought Wes Morgan, Wasilewski and Vardy did well today. It's annoying for players like James and Drinkwater to be played in an unnatural system/formation and effectively be wasted. De Laet was shite. Schlupp actually was decent too. Defensively as well as attacking.

Meh. Best we move on from this and the horrid run we're on at the moment. Use the international break to full effect. 2 weeks to regroup for 2 of the biggest games of the season, more so than games against Chelsea, Arsenal etc. 6-pointers vs relegation rivals/candidates too.

Again poor tactics and set up from the start lost us the game before we even kicked off. Don't get me wrong to lose by only two goals against a team that is flying at the minute on reflection is perhaps not bad.

What truly effffffs me off at the moment though is we just dont ever look threatening at all. We just pass sideways and backwards all the time and defend deeper and deeper and deeper.

I have said it before I will say it again I cant see where our next goal is coming from.

We just seem petrified to attack or to have a shot.

We go into games with a damage limitation, play defensive mentality. Why cant we just give it a bloody go especially at places you are not expected to get anything anyway.

5 attempts of which only 2 on target again says it all really.

It really is depressing. We have totally lost our "feel good factor" that attracted players to join us.

At least they get paid well to feel bad I suppose..

did you not see the one that went for a throw?

At the same time, if we hadn't made Southampton work for their first goal today, they'd have battered us. That being said we need to return to scoring goals at home and fast.

What about if we'd scored first?

Battered, shmattered, we got beat, we got zero points.

His corners are barely reaching the peoiple who can get a head on them but yes, accepted even when they do, we're not winning the headers anyway.

It seems to be the Burnley game that's done it. Two points dropped there seems to have knocked things and changed his mind about tactics.

But Pearson isn't blind. He can see what works and what doesn't. I'll be more concerned if this diamond experiment stays for the Sunderland and QPR games. Those teams are crying out to have Mahrez or whoever running at them.

WHAT?

Surely that means they are not good enough.

They're not good enough in that formation no.

Drinkwater & James are wasted wide in a diamond, and don't get me started on Mahrez not having played a minute in our last two games

They defended admirably as instructed but Jesus of Nazareth, we couldn't score in a brothel

Last season we played an expansive positive brand of football, we played to our strengths and didn`t worry about who we were playing.

We pissed that division playing that way, but this season we are just setting up in a negative and defensive manner, against who ever we are playing.

If we are to go down, please can we go down having a go at teams, rather than go down playing in the docile limp way that we currently are.
