DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Four more arrests yesterday, and another one from here, in lovely High Wycombe, bringing the tenth such arrest in this town. I recognized the house on TV, as it is in one of the areas I used to patrol. We are a town with a massive ethnic influx, and I fully expect more arrests to be made here. I could go on to say more, but I would probably be called racist, so I am happy enough, knowing that I, and very many other local residents, are correct, in our views. Terrorism, is something that is here to stay, and it will increase as time goes by, no town or city being safe, for ourselves and our families to live in. A very depressing thought, when we already have so many other types of crime to contend with, How do you envisage the future, with regard to terrorism within our own country? What can we do about it as a nation? My view is basically, we can't.
Fox92 Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I don't think we can do anything about it because they'll always be one step ahead.
Unabomber Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Not a lot you can do if some jihad blows himself up next to you is there?
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I don't think we can do anything about it because they'll always be one step ahead. The fact that we usually arrest them before they can disturb so much as a blade of grass suggests otherwise.
bovril Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I don't think we can do anything about it because they'll always be one step ahead. Surely the fact they were arrested means they're not one step ahead.

Surely the fact they were arrested means they're not one step ahead. I meant in terms of ideas... But I can see something happening again soon anyway. Something worse than July 7th.
purpleronnie Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 DT does seem a glass half empty kind of fella always looking at the worst in society, these things happen no matter where you live. There was a lot more terrorist attacks in the 70's, 80's and 90's in the UK......a lot more, so in many ways it's better. We just hope that the police continue to do a good job in making attacks thesedays a very rare occurance.

bovril Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 They're the mujahedin and they're makin' a scene.
MooseBreath Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I meant in terms of ideas... But I can see something happening again soon anyway. Something worse than July 7th. These terrorists aren't exactly full of ideas either though. 9/11 aside their attacks on western soil have shown about as much creativity as a Nigel Pearson diamond formation.
Rincewind Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 Five people arrested in High Wycombe. Headline news.I suppose it makes a change to Leicester.
bovril Posted 8 November 2014 Posted 8 November 2014 I always read Dangerous Tiger posts like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 November 2014 Author Posted 8 November 2014 That sounds like it should be the introduction to a super hero movie. Have you thought about buying a tiger costume and beating up ethnic minorities? Nice one Mark.

Ten in the past four years, actually, Ken. We're not a huge town. There are fireworks going off all around me. Well, I hope the're fireworks!

Mike Oxlong Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 Not a lot you can do if some jihad blows himself up next to you is there? Spot on! Someone else will have to pick up the pieces.

Rincewind Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 School crossing warden. He would meet some scary individuals in that job.
Buce Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 I think it was a typo: he used to syphon petrol.. Sounds like a bit of a gas.

ozleicester Posted 9 November 2014 Posted 9 November 2014 More at risk driving in your car whilst "patrolling", than you will ever be from Terrorism. Good for the police catching those that are criminals, bad for those innocents being targetted due to profiling. Move along... need to focus on how we are going to score?

What can we do about it as a nation? My view is basically, we can't. A mate of mine is a cop in Buckinghamshire. Some years ago (probably the last time he got any overtime) he spent several nights sitting in the middle of a wood in High Wycombe, guarding the location of a terrorist explosive stash while forensics searched the rest of the wood. Think it was something to do with that plot to blow up airliners with explosives hidden in Lucozade bottles. He said it was great fun, apart from running into badgers in the middle of the night
