Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The film is about returning his light sabre, if the leaks are to be believed he's not in it for more than a few minutes at the end for the handover. With a greater role in the next movie.

Major Spoiler

I imagine they felt the need to spread out the old characters over several films to complete the handover and keep the interest of fans of the originals. Especially with the loss of a certain major old character rumoured for this film

It's him in the hood with the robot hand with R2D2 isn't it, it looks very good though, certainly better than episodes 1 and 2.

Is the rating confirmed as a U? If so I can take my boy to this and not look like a saddo geek, like some of you lot ;)

You'll be able to take him if it's a PG. My lad will be four by the time it comes out and I'll be taking him - regardless of whether he wants to go

I went to watch the Phantom Menace on my own. Mrs had just had our son. Sad really but Star Wars is special. Going to watch the new one with my son now hes my friend.

My lad will be 5, get him into star wars rebels before you go. Its pretty decent and will introduce him into it.

Just to let people know, it says it's releasing on the 18th, but the vue at the highcross is doing advanced screenings on the 17th. The tickets are selling FAST. Just managed to get 2 in decent seats though.

It's the 18th in the US and the 17th in the UK. They are available everywhere on the 17th as far as I know.

I did my best but I ended up watching more of it than he did.  I agree, it's quite entertaining

Just out of curiosity, why do some of you think it's sad to see a film alone? You sit in a dark room and watch a film in silence, just go.

I prefer going alone, only done it a couple of times though.

No dicking about waiting for people, no annoying chatting, get there when you want to and alone time to relax. I've never been big into cinema but going alone is fine.

I think there's going to be a massive Luke Skywalker related twist in this, he's gonna be the bad guy!!

The hand that touches R2D2 in the second trailer (which I assume was Luke) looks remarkably like Kylo Rens hand that you can see against Poe Dameron's face in the latest trailer.

Edit : having just watched both trailers again the hands are different, I'm talking bollox  lol

The absurdity aside, I have to love his creative argument:

"But that's just speculation. Let's stick to what we know-- what we know is that even after Palpatine is elected as Chancellor, years after Jar Jar has been "tricked" into helping elect him, Palpatine still hangs out with Jar Jar in RotS.. Why? Wouldn't he be a constant source of public embarrassment? This is the same character who can't walk five yards without stepping in poodoo or squealing like a rabid donkey, right? What use does he have now? Why is he still at the right hand of the most powerful person in the galaxy? Could it be that in fact Jar Jar is the most powerful person in the galaxy?"

I think you're giving this too much thought.

The guy who voiced Jar Jar has thrown fuel on the fire with this Tweet

Most people now believing that Jar Jar was originally intended to be the bad guy, but after the backlash the character received after Episode 1 the writers quickly wrote in Count Dooku instead.
