Guest MattP Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 The man's bossing it in the Champions League but hey, he's not good enough for Leicester! Bossing it? He's qualified with 7 points from 6 games in a group that had Ludogorots in and a Liverpool side without the player that made them look half decent last season.
ScouseFox Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 bossing it they won two games out of six, at home to ludogorets and liverpool. they ****ing lost to ludogorets away! what a boss.
Babylon Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 The man's bossing it in the Champions League but hey, he's not good enough for Leicester! Some of our fans, honestly! He wasn't even given a chance to do anything with us. "Bossing it" in a competition he didn't qualify for, with a team that won their league before he even joined. Yay Paulo!
EnglishOxide Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 He just qualified from the group stages with Liverpool and Real Madrid in their group. With just the combined 15 European titles... The same Liverpool that just beat us 3-1... And you have the cheek to belittle him?
kingfox Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 Would take him back tomorrow I'd pay for his plane ticket. I'd love us to re-sign Vitor. Them 2 goals he scored at Scunthorpe ❤️ Ah the days when we used to score from set pieces.

The same Liverpool that just beat us 3-1... And you have the cheek to belittle him? The same Liverpool that haven't won their own domestic league for 25 years but still masquerade as being some sort of giant?

The same Liverpool that just beat us 3-1... And you have the cheek to belittle him? Lost twice to Real Madrid and finished behind them so that's irrelevant. Also only managed 7 points from 6 games so hardly anything to brag about. And Liverpool managed to mess it up themselves tbf. Basel were a good side before Sousa took charge. They looked quality against Chelsea a couple of years ago
CosbehFox Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 Agreed. There was some wonderful football played that season. Some dreadful too. Getting humped 6-1 by Pompey would be my worst LCFC game ever. He didn't work for us. I doubt he would work in English football again or with success. Fair play to him though, he's rebuilt his career.

LCFC FOX Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 Didn't say he wasn't in charge! But they weren't his signings. Think about it. Oh right I never knew he didn't sign them, I can always remember a interview where he talked about the signings and how he has high hopes for them. So I just assumed, did he sign anyone then? Or was it all the owners
EnglishOxide Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 :xmaslaugh: Surely a WUM. Sorry how am I WUMming? Pearson had a chance to learn and build following our 17 game winless spell. Sousa wasn't given the same chance. Simple as. If Sousa was given the same chance then he might have helped shape and influence a philosophy on a team that can keep posession and that would be more sustainable in the Premier League than we appear to be now. Whether Sousa would have got us promoted who knows, but he had the team trying to play some great, if fragile, football. The fact is he is currently managing the Swiss champions (not to be sniffed at, and is through to the knockout stages of the CL. Whatever way you look at it, it's a mile ahead of where we are now.

Because a) you bring up Real Madrid like it meant something, they finished above them and beat them. b) He didn't get them in to the champions league c) he didn't even win them their league, he just took over champions. d) He's not bossing anything. e) We never went 17 games unbeaten.Pearson was give time after a bad run because he'd had us top of the league, not bottom of it. f) The football was not great, we were getting worse and worse. The bloke talked a load of shit, anyone listening to him on the Radio Leicester phone in would have had alarm bells ringing. g) He's "miles ahead of us" due to his name and nothing else. He's taken over the champions in three countries with shite leagues (wow tough job)

cityfanlee23 Posted 10 December 2014 Author Posted 10 December 2014 Who changed the thread name hahaha
Buzzell Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 First Wenger, now Sousa. Bloody hell lads, make you're minds up.
LAprice_ Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 He did "boss" the ChampionsLeague when compared to the guy who took over from him at Swansea...
Mark_w Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 Paulo will be managing at a much higher level then Pearson could ever dream of, earning loads more money and much more accolade in his profession. That doesn't make him a better manager.
fuchsntf Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 Champions League /thread No, a good topic more than relevant to foxes forum. A good example of managers are shouted out before their time, and easy underrated by trolling fans.
Jace Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 Pretty sure we would have been back in League 1 if he had stuck around
Dr The Singh Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 That doesn't make him a better manager. Define better then?
Gary Eatfood Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 Is peter taylor our next gary megson? Maybe Mr Magoo is our next Harry Bassett?
Mark_w Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 Define better then? I'd say in terms of football managers, being capable of achieving more with the same resources would make you better. It'd be difficult to prove I guess, but I certainly don't think Sousa getting a job at a bigger club because of his name despite a less impressive track record, makes him better than Pearson.

It'd be difficult to prove I guess, but I certainly don't think Sousa getting a job at a bigger club because of his name despite a less impressive track record, makes him better than Pearson. That's your impression, i respect that. Sousa's a bigger name cus his little toe had more football talent then Pearson as a whole and rightfully earned his place in football. I disagree with your statement with Pearson achieving more with the same resources, and it's one that we cannot compare and make a judgement, both have had different paths. As with all occupations and industries, the cream rises, the crud remains towards the bottom. There are managers etc that are made for the small industries and are really effective at that level, then there's those that can handle the big time and challenge the best. .At this moment and time, Sousa's achieved alot with a relatively poor team to the knock out stages of the champions league, while Pearson is scratching his head trying to figure out how the fook his team can stop losing
Grewks Posted 10 December 2014 Posted 10 December 2014 Sousa did nothing at Swansea, except carry on the job Martinez had done...... Rodgers did it after....and now Monk is currently doing the same. Sousa had nothing to do with it all. You only have to watch the game last night to realize that Rodgers and Sousa have different approaches.....by your logic this wouldn't be the case given that their approach was identical at swansea.
