sphericalfox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Squad depth Other than Hamer and Ulloa our summer was wasted your squad will never be stronger signing bench players. Sign first team players you automatically strengthen the bench. or are you going to tell me MON was wrong. You don't spend money (That includes wages) unless you think they are better than you have. I am not anti Nige but our summer whoever's fault was wrong. We should have bought in first team players not subs. How many players do we have now not good enough that we can't move on as contracts have been handed out. Young prospects is one thing when do you see the top clubs buying a sub. Strengthen from the front the arse end of the squad is automatically stronger I'd say that he wanted to show faith in his players, reward them for their efforts and give them the opportunity to prove they could mix it up with the cream of the crop, without a stripping of the team spirit by replacing everyone and starting over, and probably been our guaranteed relegation with debts we couldn't afford. Now with some reinforcements and some quality some boost the spirit and in my view should go from strength to strength. We'll have our blips, and perhaps not fill all the gaps where it might be needed, but then there's this coming summer.

Long Eaton Fox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 I agree sylofox. Two or three more first team players were needed pre season. I admire the chance given to the promoted team but so far no one has stepped up. James is nearly there but got sent off. Vardy and Drinkwater still could do it.
sylofox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Your squad won't be stronger signing bench players? Really? Do you honestly need this explaining? Do you need it explaining. We had this fight in the summer. our squad was not strong enough when I said it in the summer I ment our first team. Had he replaced first team players our squad would have been stronger. We had jumped up a League. Every team we play is stronger than last season adding players to our bench was not making us stronger. You just seem to want to fight anyone that goes against your thoughts. But as I said is MON wrong saying you don't spend money unless it makes you better. Most of his signings were first choice or through injury. So yes your right add to the bench makes you stronger me and MON are wrong. Add to the front not the rear adding to the front end makes your rear stronger.

Glad you see it unlike some who think they run this forum. But don't get involved in my fight.

But we did need more than Ulloa and all we got was subs he has not wanted to use. Not blaming nige, a lot on here thought we would rip it. I did not but unlike most you won't find a post where I have slated him or want him out. Yes I have just now said we got it wrong in the summer not blaming him as I do not know the club policy in the summer.
NewquayFox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 He's a small Croatian player, bit of a midget gem actually.....
Long Eaton Fox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Good luck sylofox. I'm feeling confident about the rest of the season now. Looking forward to Stoke, bring it on.
sylofox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Good luck sylofox. I'm feeling confident about the rest of the season now. Looking forward to Stoke, bring it on. I am too. Think a lot of problems are being sorted. I do not think Nige had the best of help in the summer. Also think some fans should get off his back and off of certain players backs.
sylofox Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Your squad won't be stronger signing bench players? Really? Do you honestly need this explaining? Yes your right babs as usual sign bench players better than we have we are stronger. So strong we hold up the prem. Sorry did not realise you was happy to be cannon fodder. Did you once manage or do you manage England? A stronger squad to me is one that can fight. Whats your idea one without a limp wrist lol
NewquayFox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Camelford, Dobwalls, Wadebridge & Torpoint all have pitch inspections in the SW Peninsula league, only a rumour but could be true. Only one i could find on Twitter....
sphericalfox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 So there are no twitter rumours of late? I think it's time to generate some.

Strengthen from the front the arse end of the squad is automatically stronger Not sure why you keep referring to MON in this, an awful lot of his signings were not seen as automatically strengthening the squad, the key signings were either unproven or unheard of or perceived as over the hill.Just think about it, I don't have to name them all but How many were proven Kaamark and a couple of others.MON also gave lengthy contracts to poor players he signed also,I am sure Graham Fenton was one of his.I do agree we were a couple short in the summer but probably not for want of trying but we are well past that.I also think a lot of this squad is quite capable in the Premiership and will go on to prove it, but admittedly we have given ourselves a lot to do. Get a win today and suddenly it will look much better.

Ian S Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 MON signings http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/page/managerdetails.php?mid=17 Thanks, looking at the list actually strengthens the point.A lot of players that at first glance you would not expect to set the world alight but the rest is history.
justfoxes Posted 18 January 2015 Posted 18 January 2015 I agree sylofox. Two or three more first team players were needed pre season. I admire the chance given to the promoted team but so far no one has stepped up. James is nearly there but got sent off. Vardy and Drinkwater still could do it. Agree but seeing Nugent last week against villa and again at Stoke he just isn't a premier league striker ! Yes he's scored a couple of good goals but against villa in front of goal how many simple goals did he miss 4/5 ulloa also missed a sitter or two ! I am so hoping this young KRAMARIC lad is the real deal he played a couple of great passes he's certainly got insight had a couple of great moments with the ball at his feet but the prem is different to creation football it's quicker and you get less time on the ball at times, but I'm very optimistic about this lad he PEARSON plays him a full 90 min in u21 game this coming week to help his game and then start him against Spurs as this game I feel is less important than the league situation we're in yes it's good to have a good cup run but when we're at the bottom we've nore chances of losing players through injuries ! So let's see who else is on big Nigel's radar and see who will be coming in over the next couple of weeks and I can't wait for the mad scramble last min deals before the window closes !! But I still think we will be fine and finish above the bottom three in May !

Fox 4 Life Posted 21 January 2015 Posted 21 January 2015 I would definitely take him on a free, he is creative and quick exactly what we need at the moment.

Of course we need squad depth, but the players have to have the ability to compete at this level. It was the failure in the summer window to bring in better quality, that has cost us so dear, and in all likelihood going to get us relegated.
