Where do we need to improve most?

With the transfer window approaching, where do people feel we most need to improve?

If you had 1 transfer you could make which position would it be? Then if you had a second, where would that be?

For me its

#1 Centre Back

#2 Striker

#3 Left Back

A good, reliable intelligent ball playing centre back should be our number 1 priority as we lack anyone with the ability to play this position well and it is costing us both goals and possession.

My second priority would be to add a striker to compliment Ulloa as we are incredibly reliant on his goals at the moment, somebody similar to Nugent but better ideally.

Lastly if we have the time and money we need a left back to replace Konchesky who has been better than I expected but is limited in ability to keep possession and get forward.

Think it might be quicker to ask, where don't we need to improve!

It's so hard because I don't think there's a specific position letting us down any more than other. It's like if it isn't one player, it's another in a totally different position.

We make vital mistakes and it's so hard to cut out without a re-build. It's hard to know if just a couple of changes in personnel will make quite a significant difference to the others in terms of mistakes.

For me, it's a left back, centre back and striker. A decent left back who can attack well and not make stupid mistakes. Martin Olsson's the best shout I've heard yet, plenty of experience in this league and realistic whilst playing for a side who are flirting with promotion at best. Centre back... I'm absolutely stuck for ideas. Sticking with Olssons.. Jonas at West Brom is a decent shout but why they'd sell to us I do not know.

For a forward I'd like someone who can perform Nugent's role, but better. Someone who can actually offer a threat (we had 22 shots yesterday and I don't remember him having one) whilst being able to link attack and midfield. I'd be inclined to look abroad.

I'm not convinced our wingers are an issue. If Schlupp can play like yesterday more often then he'll hold down that left wing position. His end product was still questionable, but his attitude was far better. Mahrez is a given. Knockaert & Albrighton didn't turn into poor players overnight and Lawrence might have a say yet.

Quality striker to play alongside Ulloa, either a quality midefielder or defender, doubt we can really afford one let alone three quality players.

Two strikers ,

someone in midfield who can pass the ball forward and run 100 yards in a single burst !!!!!

Left back

Centre Back

And a new drummer boy

I'm not fussed if we sign anyone. The odds are, we will be getting all the cast offs no one else wants, with inflated transfer fees and wages.

Yesterday proved the likes of drinkwater, king, james, schlupp, mahrez, ulloa etc are good enough for this level, we just need time to further establish others.

Left-back

Centre-back

Strikers

Left-back - in the short-term, without Schlupp we're distinctly weakened when he goes to AFCON. People are gonna have to get used to seeing Konchesky because he's the best we have but in the long-term we will need strengthening, regardless of what division we'll be in.

Centre-back - Few too many individual mistakes being made and we need someone with more recent Premier League experience to help us out. Again, this is regardless of division because we're struggling. We need someone who is the equivalent for the Premier League as Morgan was for us in the Championship.

Striker - Ulloa is the only one who's scoring. Vardy, as hard as he tries isn't Premier League standard. Nugent hasn't cut the mustard either but I really can't question their effort. Again, better Premier League experience in that department is needed to accompany Ulloa.

Think it's folly to accept yesterday proves those players are genuine premiership players all have looked average players for most of the season , ulloa goals maybe make him a threat at this level

Maybe it's the coaching and the set up , but I have seen nothing over the whole season to conclusively prove all are genuine premiership players

We need strengthening and quickly. Problem is I don't think the owner is true to his word, there is no big pot of cash available, and as such I expect some more loan signings next month

Apart from the lack of real quality the line up isn't to bad. It's the lack of movement in and around the oppositions box which is costing us. Nobody seems to go

wide left or right to collect overhit crosses. Headers or parries from the goal keeper. No one arrives late or hangs on the edge of the box for cut backs and knock downs. This along with players not lifting their head at crucial times is costing us dearly.

Maybe Pocchettino thinks the same about spurs then? Given how poor eriksen, kane and lamela were.

If you honestly don't believe Mahrez is capable of playing at this level for the rest of his career, then I seriously have worries about what you have been watching.

Lamela cost spurs £30 million. And Mahrez has looked more threatening in every single game his has played this season than lamela did yesterday.

For me the centre back is the priority, simply by looking at the goals we've conceded, a better centre back would probably have prevented more than any other position although there have been issues with both full backs and the goalkeeper plus the defensive tracking of the midfielders, however we need to think priorities.

Secondly a big problem has been our inability to pass the football around at the back and that leads us to being forced to either hoof from the back which doesn't suit our style of play or for the midfield to drop back to help out the defence which creates too big a gap between the midfield and the forwards. Getting in a ball playing defender would help here and allow us more control over matches, especially when opponents are trying to press.

If look at our centre backs we have Morgan who is over 30 and playing his first season at premiership level who we signed for £1M a few seasons ago, Wasilevski who was a free transfer to a championship club after not being able to find a club and Moore who is an inexperienced youth academy product. We then have Upson who was a free transfer and appears to be permanently injured. To me it's just not good enough, a total of £1M worth of defenders isn't going to cut it at this level. Mourinho couldn't buy a premier league quality central defence for £1M (and that's over 2 seasons). I'd probably look abroad.

As for the other positions we need to improve, it is more straight forward. We need more than 1 striker who can score. Despite what people like or dislike about Vardy and Nugent they haven't cut it at this level. Nugent is slightly more useful in my view although I'd use Vardy as an impact sub ahead of Nugent. I'd say we need a striker as you won't get points without goals, we need someone who can locate the net, whether that's someone like McCormack or Rhodes or Deeney or a foreigner.

Left back is in need of improvement as I feel Koncheskey lacks the pace to get forward which you need at this level and he is not good enough on the ball, however he's generally reliable as a defender bar that horrible back pass so it would be my third priority and perhaps an area where we could settle for a marginal improvement rather than spending big.

The midfield is strong enough or at least not the priority, likewise goalkeeper is good enough, we can't afford to change those now.

I'd be spending £10M or so each on a defender and a striker and £5M on a left back although I don't know if we have those funds available. I can't see us staying up without improving these 3 areas, a few extra additions wouldn't hurt either.

There is one major priority IMO.

I'm not as bothered about left back now. Schlupp should play there.

What's gone is the spine of a strong side.

We need one really good centre back. A central midfielder who can both create and score goals.

And a top striker to partner Leo.

Get the strong spine back and we'll convert near misses into victories.

Look at yesterday..we were the better side and should have had a penalty. How anyone can dispute that is beyond me.

We aren't a million miles off.

we're a little bit not good enough all over the pitch. when we play one up front there's no chance we'll ever score, when we play 2 up and 2 wingers to give ourselves a goal or two we concede 3 a game. dunno what the solution is other than to try and sneak 12 men on the pitch.

Wonder what odds the bookies would give on that?

With my luck, 9/1, I'd bet..and then the ref would notice...

I would happily replace the entire back 4 if i'm honest.

But my shopping list would look like this!

1 x Prem proven centre-back ££££££££££££££££££

+ another decent centre-back for cover

1 x left back

2 x wingers

1 x Prem proven striker ££££££££££££££££££££

even with all these new additions, for them to gel into the team and fight for survival is one hell of an ask.

A centre back & some strikers who can put the ball in the net must be our top priorities.

However getting in a centre back with Premier League experience could prove tough, I've heard Huth's name mentioned quite a bit yet he is slowly coming back from a long term injury, Curtis Davies is surely unrealistic while I can't think of anymore. Would Chris Samba be interested in a move back to the Prem; however isn't he a bit of a bombscare? All I can think of is try someone like Ake on loan, or pluck out some talented foreigner.

Strikers I think we definitely need two, we can't just rely on Ulloa.

Man city were poor , Liverpool average , Tottenham very average , and west ham only just tried against us , teams look at us right now and they know 50% is all that's needed to get by us .....2nd gear and game over

mehrez has HUGE potential BUT at present is too light , easily pushed off the ball and drifts in and out of Games too much for my liking and his work ethic is a little dodgy at times , I will say he has quality in his feet , if his attitude , stamina and physical frame improves then I can see him making a living in England at the top level like I say HE has potential , right now consistency is lacking and without consistency he isn't a genuine premier league for me , I like him and he has some thing , I feel with better coaching and attitude he will improve some of those factors are in his control and some are not

Yesterday he was impressive at times need more Constancy in his overall performance

Top Leicester V Spurs list

CHANCES CREATED

Riyad Mahrez Leicester 5

Daniel Drinkwater Leicester 3

Leonardo Ulloa Leicester 3

Jeffrey Schlupp Leicester 2

Danny Rose Spurs 2

I defo think yesterday's set up worked better , it was a similar set up we finished at west ham and we were well on top in that game , once we add a quality centre half , left back , striker and centre midfielder who can drive forward we could turn a corner as teams are not rolling us over and with a bit of luck we could have been in a better spot than we stand tonight

Hull is a 9 pointer for us , simply cannot afford to lose that one

Someone who can take set pieces (Midfielder?).
