Even after the ref took leave of his senses we still carried on. Jeff, Nuge, Mahrez all awesome. I thought we took the piss out of Liverpool a bit and was even less impressed with them than I was when we played them at Filbert Way. Overrated. Our fans were awesome - sarcastic and loud! Sad to see Drinky hobble off, looked like a groin injury. Any news yet? My favourite poster.

You kind of (kind of) feel sorry for plastic Liverpool fans, they'll never know joy like that, especially after being cheated out of the game first half

We created lots of chances, maybe weren't quick enough making some decisions in the final third (if i was being really picky). Should have won the game, deserved to win the game. First penalty decision was disgusting, if i'm being honest with the second as soon as it hit Simpsons hand i knew he'd give it. Never deserved to go 2-0 down, can't really think of Liverpool really dominating our area and dominating stages of the game. We looked like the team we was last season and start of the season, always looking to attack, confident, direct, good in possession and everyone looking passionate. Can't wait for African cup to finish, I think we will miss Schlupp if he goes but Mahrez is going to be a massive miss! He keeps getting better each week and is our main threat

Monsell1976 Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 I think this is why a lot have got pissed off during the bad run, because we know they can play like today, but for some reason cannot do it consistently, it's performances like this that makes us follow them, even through the hard times. To a man, I am proud of everyone of them out there today, everything that makes us follow city, gritty, hardworking and gave everything. Schlupp and mahrez were top notch today, and Liverpool couldn't handle them, and a bit of composure from them both when they had chances, and vardy not to panic when through, it could have been more. We do need to add quality in January, but they looked like players fighting for their manager and places, which is promising. I just hope this isn't a false dawn and we don't go on a barren run again, play like that every week and we might have a chance of staying up.

They created the square root of fvck all whilst he was on the pitch other than 2 dodgy pens, and only when he went off did Liverpool's midfield start to get on the ball and get it to the front players.

Assuming we can maintain our recent form, we need to be taking more points now we have realised we won't lose every game, no matter what the performance. There is a chance we can get out of this. Need some new faces next week.

Agree with every word of this but to do what we did and finish with a bigger points gap than before tells sommat about this league. Hard job but everything crossed for 2015

zak_lcfc Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Great performance from the lads it had everything, a shame about the poor decisions which could have prevented us getting the 3 points but the team should be proud. Will be a big test missing Mahrez and Schlupp but hopefully there's a plan in place as it's been coming for a while now so NP has had time to think of how to play without them! Most important thing is to keep up this level of play against Villa next week if we do we can get all the points in that match
