I'm going to Belfast in August for a stag do.

I've always wanted to visit, but I'm not sure how much I'll actually see!

Belfast is a very walkable City.

Not sure if this is in keeping with a traditional Stag do but if you get the time take a wander up the Crumlin Road & take in Crumlin Road Jail which has a truly horrific history.

From there its a short walk to Shankhill Road, the loyalist area where the many murals are works of art.

Down to the "Peace Wall" & around to the Falls Road where the scenes of Shankhill Road are repeated but in a Republican sense.

Hard to believe the gruesome history of these areas but everywhere is safe enough now.

A visit to one of Belfast's football grounds is also a must, Linfield at Windsor Park or one the the nostalgic ramshackle grounds of Glentoran, Crusaders or Cliftonville.

Add to that Belfast has dozens of decent pubs, the Crown Liquor Saloon being the most ornate & a throw back the the past.

Obviously the Titanic is the most touristy attraction in the City but there's only so much you can cram in on a stag weekend.

I was supposed to be in Barbados this week  - boys trip for my best friends birthday.

But he went and popped his clogs.

I'm incredibly annoyed with him - as well as the fact that I will miss him hugely.

:(

TV tower for breakfast or lunch, completely under visited for whatever reason. Zizkov (the district where it is) is cool, go to the monument.

Walk up to the castle the grounds are worth it alone, it was about £20 for entry and I'm of the opinion once you've been to one castle - you've been to them all.

Get the funicular up to Petrin, walk around there, slightly surreal place but fantastic views. Don't bother with the Staropramen tour.

If you have time my strongest recommendation would be go to Kutna Hora and see Sedlec Ossuary, there's artwork and sculptures made from tens of thousands of human bones from the Hussite wars. The old town is nice too, 40 minutes or so on the train.

Bar wise, can't go wring with European Bar Guide's recs, try and use a few Czech lines (e.g do you speak English), softens them up slightly otherwise they can be surly. Lokal Dlouahaaa (sp) is great. Beerpoint and Moskyt are close to each other and fun in different ways.

Salzburg  in a couple of weeks.  Any suggestions?  Please note I hate musicals, which rules out anything connected to The Sound of Music.

I know this sounds weird, but take in Munich - can be done very cheaply, only 90 minutes or so on the train.

Mozart had a gaff there, which you can visit, if that floats your boat.

All I can recall about my visit to Salzburg, some 35+ years ago, is that everything, absolutely everything, had a picture of Mozart on it.

Same.
It was the Mozart fest when I went, some anniversary or other so my visit was pretty much dominated by that.
Oh, and I was mugged by the train station.

Love it, wonder what the name of his local boozer was called and whether or not he had a wheeler dealer older brother, or an uncle that was in the merchant navy. 🤣

Didn't know which thread to put this in but has anyone used JustPark and parked in supermarket car parks?

Just booked 3 nights in Morrisons Car park in York for £23. Was looking at triple that for all the other car parks I could see. Wanted to do train but as we come home on a Sunday, trains are ****ed and it's rail replacements.

Obviously, normally supermarkets have 2 or 3 hour limits. Am I going to come back to a hefty ticket, or is it legit?

Can cancel up to 24 hours before so thought I'd book it and then research the legitimacy afterwards.

I know people who use these apps for football trips etc but paranoid with it being multi day stay. Any horror stories?
