Looking to book a week in Florence in may. Is that too long?

Not at all with all the possible day trips. Even Rome is only like an hour and a half by train.

Any recommendations for Croatia in July please guys?

Split/ Dubrovnik?

Dubrovnik was really busy in October so I can only imagine how packed it would be in July. I preferred Split out of the two. Stayed there and did a day trip to Dubrovnik, but it’s 3hrs on a coach. Krka national park close by to Split was nice. Plitvice is doable as a day trip, but again is 2-3hrs on a coach and will be packed in July. Love Croatia, it’s one of my favourites, but would highly recommend Montenegro too

Looking at Zadar as recommendations  by Brummie.

Good flight but it's only monday to friday.

Seems a nice small place and can do a few trips from there.

Yes the Kuly crowds will be a problem, unless we go in October half term

I’ve been to Croatia twice, both in October and early November. Still nice weather, not too hot, and less crowded 👍.  Flew with Jet2 from Birmingham to Split in October 👍. Zadar worth looking at too, not visited there I have to confess. You could probably do a day trip to split from there I’d imagine

Make sure you do plitvice and krka national parks, stunning.

Driving is easy in Croatia if you are fine with hiring a car.

Belgrade in four weeks

Then gotta find the next adventure.

Enjoying Nishko Pivo at the moment which I think is quite good but it could be just because I'm in the beer wasteland of Sofia

What was the cost for food and hotels like?

We stayed in a room in split in the centre, and for two of us it worked out at £200 ish for 7 nights. Food was reasonable from memory. Split very walkable. Dubrovnik if you stay near there you can get a card that’ll save you money on the attractions there. Otherwise just to walk the city walls was €40, so we gave that a miss on the day trip!

Oh god, forgot how painful trying to find a reasonably priced family holiday abroad is that the hotel isn't the absolute pits. No wonder I bought a caravan a few years back 😂

Come on then, please recommend me your favourite all inclusive hotel in Europe that's less than a bag of sand a person outside of school holidays. Cheers

Look at Eurocamp.

Typically lodges but usually with restaurants and pools etc.

Not exactly All-in, but has all the trimmings for much less.

Special shout-out to Lallandia in Denmark too. Brilliant place.

Grand Palladium White Island in Ibiza looks decent. I was meant to stay there years ago thrn COVID hit. Just priced it up and a week in Oct for 4 is about £3k which is very good.
