Looking to do a day trip to Lake Como when we go Milan.

Anyone have any good experiences of places to eat there or recommended areas to visit? Is it worth doing the cruise there?

We're weighing up whether to play approx £80pp for a day trip with cruise and Bellagio visit or just get the train from Milan to Como for about £5pp and wander around at our own pace to explore...

Travel advice has changed for Portugal- no need for CV tests if you have NHS COvID passport

Guess who just spent £150 on tests?!!!  Hurrah!

Literally just discovered this. I was about to book tests for me and the wife (kids were exempt as young). Saved about £40.

Can you get refunds? Probably not.

Yes…. I get £19 back on each £29 spent

which is fair enough for admin and shipping

I am trying to look at it as £80 saved as opposed to £40 lost

important to note that I still need to keep one back for my 13 year old

Because they are not vaccinated?

Still no confirmation on what is required coming back (Day 2). Could have used the LFT ones if they become acceptable.

if you wander round of your own accord I think you will probably run out of things to do pretty quickly to be honest. Where is the train station?

I explored that area a fair bit when I was in Bergamo but always buy car.

Its nice but of the lakes I found it to be the least pretty. How long are you in Milan for? If you want trips outside by train then Bergamo old town for an evening is well worth it, Verona is probably an extra hour on the train and is stunning.

No PCR needed for day two I think

Cheers, looked at the Jet2 website this morning and thought it looked a bit different!

I’m in Vilamoure a week on Wednesday for 3 nights.

Have fun!

5 days in Lisbon for me

Never been before !

Nice, was looking at Lisbon as well.

So do we now just need a lateral flow on return?

4 nights. Train station is pretty much right by the South of the lake and in Como.

How far is Bergamo from Milan on train?

So I guess it’s in Lecco or near there? It’s not the nicest part of the lakes that’s for sure.

Bergamo is about 35 mins on the train.

Nah the other side of the lakes as it splits or forks out at Bellagio (on Google Maps).

Will check out Bergamo but unsure we'll get time to visit there if we do go ahead with the Como day trip.

There isn’t a huge amount in Bergamo in all honestly so I don’t blame you. Milan is a strange one as well, definitely worth having a few options of other places to go.

PCR I think ?

A day 2 test - tend to be £40-£50

Did a day trip to Como from Milan a couple of years ago. Beautiful scenery & lively for a small City. Definitely worth a trip but you can see it properly in a few hours.

Dont forget your mossie repellent, seriously.

Cheers, sounds like won't need a whole day there 👍.

And hadn't even thought about the mosquitoes! Thanks!

In Spain on holiday, the process to get out here was so simple and easy. Didn't take much longer than usual.

What testing/ forms did you need to fill in if you don't mind me asking?

Going away on Thursday and my mate seems to think to enter Spain you need a negative PCR as well as proof of double vaccination, is this true?

So I flew in before October 4th, all I needed was proof of double vaccination (QR codes from the NHS app downloaded) and completing the SpTH form (this in an app on your phone).

If you aren't double vaccinated, that's when I believe you need a test.

I'm booked for Thailand in January. I'm double jabbed but I'll probably be offered a booster before we go. If I don't have the booster, am I still classed as fully vaccinated?

I’m sure I’ve seen this but has anyone used the same booking reference for a PCR test more than once on the passenger locator form?

I’m about to try when coming back from Portugal (worst case we need to buy another three tests)

we completely forgot to use them coming back to the U.K. in the summer

Nice one, I ‘completely forgot’ to take my Poland one as well.

What date do you come back? Will be interested in seeing if you get arrested before me lol
