Late setting off yesterday as 13 people from Scouseland that came down on the same coach had to be booted off ..   the ones that didn’t test positive but were on the same coach must have been well pissed off ..

Got a couple of nights in Manchester this week with the Mrs, including the Kasabian gig on Friday. Always end up in shit places or the usual chains in Manchester so any recommendations? Especially for something to eat? Was thinking of trying somewhere in the Northern Quarter as don't usually go that way.

Probably not the best for non chain restaurants but for a nice beer in a good setting I would definitely recommend getting the tram to Salford Quays. I’ve got a mate who lives on it and it’s one of my favourite places in the UK.

For those of you that have been to Vilamoura in Portugal, where is likely to have the football on on Wednesday?

Any one of the Irish pubs on the marina, there's plenty of them showing whatever is on that day

Apparently it was a lot more than 13 that were booted off the cruise ship and now the word is someone onboard had died ..  this cruise is obviously jinxed so I’m going to keep em peeled for ice bergs  from now on .. not usually many of them in the med but with our luck I’m not taking any chances.   In the meantime we’re off for a day out in Cadiz ..  😁👍

I was in Manchester last week.  Good craft beers in Cafe Beermoth and a really nice meal in The Rice Bowl (which had been recommended to me).  Sorry I don’t know if they are in the NQ …. they are close together.

I went to six by nico last time I was there for a meal and it was great. Very reasonably priced too.

On a positive note…. The old serial numbers worked absolutely perfectly on the passenger locator form - result

on a less positive note EasyJet are total effing morons

I am sat here typing whilst waiting to board a Wizz air flight with my 13 year old who was refused boarding on to our earlier easyJet flight…. They completely incorrectly insisted she needed a negative test to go back to the U.K.

My wife showed them the gov website where it clearly states that U17’s don’t need a test even if unvaccinated, but, they said no…. I was in front and with the two oldest and missed the conversation

The gate was closing and the plane was about to leave…. We had to make a quick decision and Alice wanted me to stay with her as her mum was panicking too much!

My wife and two eldest got on the plane and easyJet unceremoniously dumped us at passport control with no advise or support

I got a rapid test done for her…. Paid 90 euros for some Wizz air tickets and we are just about to board

All in all we did well (6 hour delay and 110 euro out of pocket).  Wizz air confirmed that they didn’t need to see her COvID test too!

it was all so quick and stressful I was convinced we’d read something wrong (we hadn’t)

Anyway…. Come Monday I’m going to be kicking off with easyJet the total incompetent b@stards!

Two other couples were kicked off with me as they didn’t know about the passenger locator form - you’d think you’d look into it?!!!

What a bloody stressy mess…. Was horrible !

Was a piece of piss coming out!

Have you got any young ones with you?

just in case consider a test for them if they’re not vaccinated, just in case you get some incompetent numpty at the gate

You’d think they’d read/ be briefed on the guidance in that job would you?!!!

Absolutely not, I’d recommend some of these.

Merely proves what an absolute con the rules are if nobody checks this stuff.

Wonder if my "friend" will manage to use the same reference number for a third time......

Yep…. I even used the same code twice one two different locator forms…. It’s a load of nonsense!

Looking to do a day trip to Lake Como when we go Milan.

Anyone have any good experiences of places to eat there or recommended areas to visit? Is it worth doing the cruise there?

We're weighing up whether to play approx £80pp for a day trip with cruise and Bellagio visit or just get the train from Milan to Como for about £5pp and wander around at our own pace to explore...

Bellagio is lovely and definitely worth a visit. We stayed in Cadenabbia which is just across the water.

You can get a bus there from Como train station, but it's a bit of a mad ride with the narrow roads.

There are little clusters of villages along the lake that you can between really.

Flight back from Tenerife yesterday with Easy Jet, the plane made a right racket on take off at 12.40pm and by 1.30pm we’re landing back on Tenerife! Scary stuff, hydraulic failure.

I understand this can happen but once we landed it was a complete shambles, the manager wouldn’t come down to speak to the 200 or so passengers and left a young lad to deal with passengers wondering how they were going to get back home.

We were herded from one place to another until eventually we found ourselves back outside of the airport.

The easyJet lad had no idea what he was doing before saying we could fly back to Luton or Gatwick in the evening (the original flight was to Gatwick) so obviously everyone wanted the Gatwick flight. Limited seats available and everyone had to book flights on their phones!

Very little help for people, the older generation were struggling with what to do, it was an absolute shambles.

Everyone had bought duty frees and had to go through passport control again, so no liquids allowed.

So having left the apartment in Tenerife at 9am we eventually got home in Leicester at 1.40 am next day!

A compensation claim is going to be emailed in.

DO IT!!!

Had an amazing break

you can mooch around the town all day, stop have a beer and some tapas and move on again

The aquarium is worth a visit

Get tram 28 up the hill to castle and go round the grounds

Sintra is worth the trip - but, quite a long day - takes a bit of working out

27c and blue skies!!!

can recommend a great Airbnb too - we had our own roof top terrace

That’s shocking…. Really poor and quite frightening too I imagine

Mine was so frustrating as it could have been avoided - they were just wrong !

How did you go about submitting your claim complaint ?

Only just got back yesterday, we were handed a compensation form when we checked in for the second flight of the day!  Any delay over 3 hours can be claimed for.

I think you’d be best to email them explaining what happened to you and how unhappy you are with their service, just dumping you and your daughter like that was dreadful and completely wrong.

As for Lisbon Thanks for the tips, it looks a beautiful old town, am I right in believing the beach is a shortish bus ride away?
