Looking forward to seeing him play. No idea really how much of a jump it is from Croatia to a side bottom of the premier league. If Ulloa is £8m and this guy is £9.5m then that perhaps suggests we shouldn't expect any miracles. But it's an exciting signing for sure. Hopefully there's more to come.

With a strike partner in Diego Costa and service coming from Cesc Fabregas, I reckon he'll hit the ground running

Do we know if he may have a release clause if relegated?

It is going to be such a tough ask for us to stay up. Would love it if we could hold on to him either way!

...... we WILL stay up though.... maybe...  kinda....  yup, staying up!

Dinamo or Hajduk?

None, actually - i just like football. I have this mental deformation that I (almost) always support weaker side - some will say that I could fit well within lcfc supporters then. :)

I really think he is decent and honest guy, so I'm looking forward to these 18 or so games until the end of season.

Seems like this is going tits up, and fast, according to some reports he isn't eligible for a work permit.....?

He needs special clearance and that might take a bit longer until we see him in an LCFC shirt.

Surely they're confident of getting it!

LCFC will appeal and put a case forward. We should win it but it wont be decided until next week :(

ulloa would have been about 3 million from abroad, england just have a ridiculous inflated market!!!

I'd be astounded if he doesn't get a work permit, he wasn't going to play much of a part on Saturday anyway. Let's have him in and ready for Stoke please.

Just kidding - I was referring to some Rijeka fans telling us about the large percentage of Dinamo and Hajduk fans in Croatia and how it feels supporting the "underdog" (or No.3 club in the country in the case of HNK Rijeka).

Andrej comes across as a very humble and quiet guy. He isn't about show, but delivery. I like that and I feel many Leicester fans can instantly warm up to such a personality.

He will get a work permit no problem, I have every faith in that.

He's already capped for Croatia which is a major plus.

I was speaking to an agent in the summer and he's bought over two lads from Croatia who are now at the youth ranks at West Brom and Everton and he had no problems bringing them over now that Croatia is in the EU.

I'd imagine there won't be any issues at all here.

That Kalinic at Blackburn got granted a work permit having only made a few appearances for Croatia, admittedly I think they had to appeal and it took ten days for looking at Wikipedia.

is it stupid to ask if he can train with us, get to know everyone and everything but just not actually play until his permit is granted? like assuming he has legit signed, he can train for a week and be ready to rock and roll whenever they give him the green light? or does he just have to twiddle his thumbs at some shit hotel or even go home until they tell him he is allowed to sign?

Actually, since I dislike the way Dinamo function, and dislike people from Hajduk whining about everything all the time, Rijeka winning the championship would be fine with me. Too bad it's not going to happen.

Clubs sign players from all the world. He will get a permit, it's whether the cnuts at the Home Office waste tax payers money by forcing an appeal which they and us know we'll win.

I would think training would class as working so probably not, but i might be wrong.

Could do it unpaid I suppose. Surely the club can't be stopped from giving some chap on the streets (who happens to be a Croatian international) a couple of training sessions if they want to.

A new record signing and It's my birthday on Saturday which can only mean one outcome - Hutton breaks his leg in three places in the first minute of the game and we never see him play for us again, I throw my pie at Hutton, miss, hit copper, life ban, prison, lose job, lose home.......

If he is allowed to stay in the country he probably could.
