LCFC1996 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I'm sure somebody posted a link to the government website that was about Croatian's working in the UK, seemed it was fairly easy to get a work permit.
Mullet1 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 KRAMARIC UPDATE Leicester have reached agreement with Croatian side Rijeka and agreed personal terms with Andrej Kramaric, but according to Sky sources there is some concern he may not meet the necessary criteria to secure a work permit. The work permit hearing is scheduled for next week, so Kramaric will not be available to face Aston Villa this weekend
Dan Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 He'll join. I'm sure of it now. Just prolonging it. No doubt we look back on the Villa game and think in hindsight how much we could've done with him.
Simmo86 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Weird people getting pissy about a work permit. When was the last time a transfer collasped due to a work permit issue?? Never?
Simi Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Kevin Phillips says 24 hours. Sky Sports News say potentially never. Who do you think has a clearer idea of what to expect? Sky have proven throughout this whole saga they've been a few steps behind, don't expect them to be in the know now.
ScouseFox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Weird people getting pissy about a work permit. When was the last time a transfer collasped due to a work permit issue?? Never? happens on footy man to me all the friggin time!
Danizen Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Weird people getting pissy about a work permit. When was the last time a transfer collasped due to a work permit issue?? Never? Stoke had a problem getting someone a work permit, last summer. I can't remember the details but I remember Hughes kicking off about it.
Fox Ulike Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I'm sure somebody posted a link to the government website that was about Croatian's working in the UK, seemed it was fairly easy to get a work permit. If he can't get a permit we can just pay him cash-in-hand.
Simmo86 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 happens on footy man to me all the friggin time! That's 17 year old Brazilians for ya!
Bert Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 What people need to realise that he's actually signed the contract. He's an LCFC player all bar a tiny bit of red tape.
Ric Flair Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Kalinic or however you spell it got a work permit when at Blackburn, this was at a time when Croatia wasn't even in the EU and he'd only made a couple of appearances for Croatia. The railing of exceptional talent will prevail here anyway, this is the lad who is hot property and we'll put forward a very good case. He's ours.
Xen Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 i wonder if he is allowed to even train with us until his work permit is through I'd imagine so. Schlupp trained with utd while still working with us, so as long as Kramaric is a rijeka player (until this contract is finalised) he wouldn't be working for us so shouldn't need a permit. Particularly as it's a mid season break for them atm, and plenty of players go to training camps in other countries to keep fitness levels up.
dpjfox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 settle him in and get him ready for the Stoke game
MPH Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Probable clauses in contract: Relegation release clause First refusal clause for Chelsea Anything else would be seriously dodgy although why we would agree to the second I don't know, wouldn't have happened if Robinson was still here... You're right. but that's because the whole deal wouldn't of happened if he was still here... Why o why didn't we do the business in the summer?...this all could be just too late now.. Pearson has to take the blame!! See above

Yeah there must be a million and one ways you can cut it. He could leave the country and come back on holiday if he really wanted and just happened to join in with the lads. Nobody's going to stop him training with us. The work permit is not a foregone conclusion though. Obviously it should be granted but it's not a "tiny bit of red tape", it's a fundamental pre-requisite for him being allowed to sign for us.
Simmo86 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Stoke had a problem getting someone a work permit, last summer. I can't remember the details but I remember Hughes kicking off about it. True, Juan Agudelo. But he had only played 2 games over 3 over for the US because of injury and hasn't played since. This lad has played the last for games and will be in squads going forward.
SlaneyLCFC Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Really looking forward to this being wrapped up (the permit nonsense) and getting him in the starting 11 vs Stoke
Hack Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I find this work permit situation utterly incredible. We are having to appeal so presumably the application was initially turned down? In what other state would a country £1.5 trillion in debt say 'nah we don't want the £400k a year in taxes you'll be giving us because you haven't played 75% of games for Croatia over the last 2 years. Try again in 3 years and you'll walk straight in.' Fvcking bollocks. I don't think we are appealing but applying for a work permit.
Bamba's Babes Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 He'll sign, I have no doubt. I'm just pissed off that he won't be in the team for Villa.
Finnegan Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Absolutely no chance he'll be refused a permit after appeal. There's no chance both ourselves and Chelsea would have been wasting our time getting this far in to negotiations without considering this step. It's normal for the permit and appeal to take several days, it's a government issue not a football one. Chill out, people.
BigWesMorgan Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 People on Twitter saying the deal is off are just embarrassing! Like anybody from outside the UK, A permit to work in this country is needed. And in this case it'll take a few days.

Can you imagine Phillips' reaction when a genuinely prolific finisher walks on to the training ground, "shite, Nige, what do I do now?!"
Carlos88LCFC Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Can you imagine Phillips' reaction when a genuinely prolific finisher walks on to the training ground, "shite, Nige, what do I do now?!" Thought about this, I think Phillips will be a great coach for him being the same sort of build but having bags of "recent" Premiership experience!
Littletoe Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Chuffed that he has decided to sign for us! If he misses the Villa game, i am fine with that, because the lads will work harder upfront to try and maintain their place in the team. WIN/WIN for us
