Kramaric Signed Sealed and Delivered Ready for the Oaties

I can’t believe we’ve spent £10m on a player with no pedigree outside of Croatia. The words ‘Ricky van Wolfswinkel’ come to mind.

From what I can see the guy is deadly when unmarked from four yards out. Whoopy-doo. So am I.

Also, is it just me or have we just made a massive improvement from going back to a 4-5-1 or a 4-4-1-1 with Nugent in the hole.

Ulloa is undroppable, and Nugent is back in form. This guy hasn’t come to sit on the bench.

The only way I can see this working is if we’re buying him for next season – but I really doubt that is the case.

We’re going back to a 4-4-2, or we’re dropping Ulloa. Both options fill me with dread.

This is a bad move. The fact that we can’t even get a work permit for the guy just indicates how much we’ve been robbed here.

Seriously cannot see us staying up if we end up putting this guy straight into the team.

1) It's £7.5m

2) He plays as a number 10 deep lying striker, the role Nugent plays for us.

3)

I would have thought that the first thing Leicester would check before even entering negotiations is his eligibility to play in the UK. To get to this stage and the deal falling through because of his ineligibility would be brainless.

Okay so I don't know where to begin.

Firstly, van Wolswinkel was bad for Sporting and all the other clubs he played for. He scored an overwhelming majority of his goals from the penalty spot.

Secondly, if you listened to our Croatian friends, he plays as a second striker, i.e. Nugents role. He makes his chances by picking the ball, running from deep and then getting on the end of crosses. He is also more than competent at shooting from range. He will not replace Ulloa in the team, another point made by the Rijeka fans. He will replace Nugent, a man fans where crying out to be dropped.

As for the work permit, every single player from a non-EU country to have played less the 75% of games in the last 2 years for their country gets rejected. It means nothing. He will be a Leicester player for the Stoke game.

Stop being so doom and fvcking gloom, we're not down by a long shot, and can personally guarantee the only way we'll go down is kicking and screaming, having given he games 110%

And a good scoring rate in European football, and a 1 in 2 strike rate at international level.

And from outside the box, and from one v ones.

We have improved since we put someone in the hole, fortunately this lad can apparently play in the hole, so it's more likely we're just upgrading Nugent.

We've been robbed because of pointless beaurocracy? His work permit got rejected because he only recently broke into the Croatian national team, it's one that gets turned down to start with until they actually look at the case rather than one line.

He can't apply for the work permit until the job is offered and nobody can guarantee what that the Home Office won't find some reason to deny a permit.

a) BBC saying £9m.

b) Really? Hmmm. I seriously doubt that but if true then he's like Messi considering how many goals he gets. Watch his Youtube videos though... he's usually goal-hanging, and usually totally unmarked when he smacks the ball past the wrong-footed Slovan Koprivnica keeper from 3 yards.

Kramaric will automatically be denied a work permit as he has only four international caps for Croatia, which means we will have to go to an appeals panel

Only if he's been in the Croatian squad more than six times.

You obviously completely missed out on the fact that he's represented HNK Rijeka in the UEFA Europa League, scoring a hat-trick against Feyenoord? lol

Kramaric can also play right wing I believe?

Nope. In the national side they played him as a left wing, but only for a short period in game.

He is too slow for a winger. He is most efficient played behind a strong striker.

OK well GOOD then.... IFFFF true.

I'll reserve further judgement until I've seen him play.

I love this from his Wikipedia biog: He "tends to run towards the ball, engulfing his opposition with an air of unpredictability about his play."  They said the same about Akinbiyi.

It's around 9 million Euro up front (£7m-7.5m) - the fee could potentially rise still (depending on appearances, I guess).

He's nothing like Messi, but arguably the biggest Croatian talent for years, if not decades (he has been compared to Suker, for instance).

Wow not THE Europa League!! :yahoo:

(I think you mean Feyenoord reserves).

No OK. Don't make me cry again. I've waved the white flag... :surrender:

IFFFFFFFFFFFF he's a number 10 then that's exactly what we need and i'll give the boy a chance.

What if he's no better than Nugent though? How many goals would Nugent get in the Croatian League?

If you want to compare him with another player then Eduardo Da Silva( ex arsenal player, taylor I think broke his leg) would be a player that is similar to him.

He also started lot of action from which his goals are score.

This is what I've been waiting for!!!! Some serious intent at staying up and splashing some serious cash.

I'm delighted with this signing and am really optimistic with the last few performances that it's not too late.

Reading between the lines (and guessing) I do wonder how much of a restriction to transfers TR was .... seems Top / Nige wanted to spend money all along.

No, It was first team, after all we did have 2 : 1 lead versus sevilla in 90th minute, game finish 2:2 unfortunately.

In fact, just had a look at the table .... a win against villa and Burnley lose and we're off the bottom ..... how great would that be to sign the players we may be having a tough time convincing that we are not going down ... massive boost for our players too.

Possibly only on foxestalk could we get two 'fans' of different clubs, both foreign, arguing about their clubs and a player who isn't even ours!

lol lol

KRAMARIC UPDATE

Leicester have reached agreement with Croatian side Rijeka and agreed personal terms with Andrej Kramaric, but according to Sky sources there is some concern he may not meet the necessary criteria to secure a work permit.

The work permit hearing is scheduled for next week, so Kramaric will not be available to face Aston Villa this weekend
