There's a long history of trouble with the Vile..... In the late 70's the whole back page of the Sunday papers was given over to headlines like 'street of shame' with pages and pages of photo's of the trouble in the Kop when pen 2 was kept empty and the away fans were put in pen 1 it all kicked off with pen 2 being invaded from both sides and it carried on after the game with serious aggro not handbags. It carried on into the 80's with villa fans getting on one of our coaches after the game. Then when Brian Little who was idolised for turning us round AND being the first manager to win at Wembley left to go to his beloved Vile and the protests with the 'Judas' banners etc really got it kicking off with running battles down Burnmoor street which then led to a major battle at there ground before and after the 4/4 draw night match .....easy travel by car and train make this always likely for aggro especially with scum like they are so not surprised.

Yep, i was there, fans were on the pitch too. The atmosphere all through the game was highly charged. They had brought far more fans than what was the old away end could hold, so they marched hundreds of their fans down from the away end and into pen 1. You could see the trouble brewing as soon as they were put in there, and it got very nasty, both in the ground and outside.

I'm not sure you lot really understand kicking off apart from those around in the early 80's.

Bet you can tell a few stories about rough and hard sessions with groups of blokes, can't you mate?

Fvck me what a load of clueless morons on this thread. Other than Moonstomp with his reference to 1977 when, if we're honest, Villa gave it large and took the piss. Ever since then we've generally had the upper hand against Villa, they never seem to get it right against us and we almost always get a result.

Not going to talk about today's events. But those who need to know already know, the rest of you should stick to wanking off over what Stringer said in an interview, the design of the new kit, some foreigner we've been linked with in the transfer market or some other boring shit.

Tell us all more of your stories you ard ****er!

The thing is most of the 'old school' come out for the bigs games all stone island up yet when it comes to it shut themselves,I was a prominent member of the ybs when we started it up,was always us young lot Avin a row,we were game as ****,hear the young lot now are(I'm 30) and av mrs and kids and don't bother anymore, pisses me off that you get the so called old school sitting in family stand with the kids in the s.i gear, yet when push comes to shove and it's gonna kick off say 'av got me kids',that's well and fine but then don't wear the clobber to say your a lad if your a has been, most so called lads ain't even as a row, gaur enter that out of 50 lads(hate it when folk say there was 200 there today)only a dozen tops will av it,the rest **** off back to the tavern and av the cheek to say they've just 'had it'!

Really no idea what 100% your saying

But the gist is , you were a hooligan , but your old now , there are plastic hooligans in the family stand who shouldn't dress like a hooligans unless they are prepared to back it up with action, and the situation in town was nothing really just blown up by another load of plastic hooligans boasting and embellishing the fact it was something and nothing ?

What's a section 60 or whatever???

Basically a power to stop and search anyone to look for weapons etc in an area where violence is predicted. They don't need grounds to stop you like normal. Quite unusual, has to be authorized by quite high up.

Without agreeing to football hooliganism etc a lot of hooligans have very well paid jobs some lawyers etc but they like fighting.. but I guess that makes the iq lower...

That's a very popular misconception peddled to glamourise the hooligan fight club , I suggest you look at the occupation of the last 100 defendants listed in east midlands magistrates courts for football related violence , very few belong to a professional body of any sorts . There will be the odd professional , but they are few and far between , if any really in these parts

Spoke to a lad in my friends old mans pub after the game. He was arrested and celled for 3 hours for being caught with a knuckleduster.

It was pretty kinky from what I saw about 20 mins after the game. Not my scene anymore but that buzz never leaves I don't think.

City v Villa has always been a bit naughty, the crossroads near Villa Park in the 90's were always fun.

It's not that sort of sport anymore but you know, sometimes happens.

Why can't both sides just have banter? There's no justification for fighting in this environment.

Actually at the west ham game in a small pub in plaidstow there was proper banter and slagging all good natured and in an area most people wouldn't venture into a pub , we even went back after the match and had a great evening despite being depressed

That's what it should be about

I don't even understand that stupid brummie accent. Eg when they say they word so..... Sowwww.

Like stepping back to shakepsheres era but there all thick as pig shit.

The irony in your post is amazing.

But they're all thick, not there.

The fights over there.

They're in a fight.

Lesson over carry on.

I've been going since 1972 & October 77 when we played villa at home was the worst trouble I've seen "inside" Filbert Street, loads kicked off in the kop, the game was stopped & the players taken off, hundreds went onto the pitch from the kop, leaving about 200 Leicester in pen 2/3 throwing whatever they could find at villa in pen 1.

I'd forgotten about that. Total mayhem and madness, certainly made for an interesting journey back to Rugby afterwards as peoples tales were told.

Villa broke into Pen 2 for a time, we went on the pitch sharpish.
