Spudulike Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 In those days the away fans were in pen 1, pen 2 was kept empty and on that day it became a 'fighting pen' with both sets of fans climbing the fences and also getting on the pitch and into pen 2. The boards from the back were ripped off and thrown and more coins than were earns in those days were thrown ... I had a good night out on what I picked up ... But it was worse outside with running battles that lasted all the way to the station. Before that Villa match, Pen 1 wasn't used for away fans. On that day it was partly occupied by Leicester fans and the police, in their wisdom, decided there was enough room to put the Villa fans from the overcrowded away corner. Most City fans climbed out of Pen 1 down by the front as the Villa fans poured in. The City fans in Pen 2 (where I was standing) started chucking stuff over the fences at the Villa fans and within minutes all hell broke lose as City fans rushed in from Pens 3 and 4 and some Villa fans also got in. I was dragged over the wall down at the front and ended up in the goalmouth. There was also fighting on the pitch (the players had gone off at this point). I remember seeing everything being thrown from full cans (the Kiosk had been ransacked), milk crates, coins and a 6 foot section of wooden plank. Anyone remember the Irish bloke standing amongst the mayhem filling his pockets with coins ?? The papers also reported how it had kicked off in the Infirmary afterwards. My Dad didn't go for years after that.
Ian S Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Actually at the west ham game in a small pub in plaidstow there was proper banter and slagging all good natured and in an area most people wouldn't venture into a pub , we even went back after the match and had a great evening despite being depressed Same here, Black Lion Plaistow.Really good banter and no hint of bad feeling.
65RosesFox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 It's a ****ing copy n paste man it's a joke! Don't tell them, the fact people still fall for it makes it funnier.

Cincinnati Fox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Really is a non story A Couple of people got pissed up and tried to act hard, happens in town centres every single day!!
Dukes not bald Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I was in pen 4 & the kiosk at the back was ransacked as well, never seen anything like it inside a ground, really was like a riot, people carried across pitch on stretchers down the tunnel.
Unabomber Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Mate, you did not start the YBS if you're 30. YBS started late 80's, about 6/7 years after the BS started - you may have been part of a rivival but you didnt start it. As for the clobber you need to do your history chap. Footie clobber/casual way of dressing was a working class progression of Mod gear from the late sixties. Every lad wore gear in 81-86 it was teh fashion, not all were looking for a scrap at the footie and many didnt even go to the footie. I still wear gear I'm in me forties but have no interest in aggro or pretending I'm up for it. Granted I dont wear S.I. as that to me is a target that you want to fight but I love me brands - its just a way of life and it doesnt mean you want to start a fight and get a banning order.
Burmesefox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 cant eduit this one - I'v ebeen well and truly wummed!! Enjoy Everton anyway chap! ;-)
sphericalfox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Bet you can tell a few stories about rough and hard sessions with groups of blokes, can't you mate? Worst chat up line EVER!
lestajigs Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Don't tell them, the fact people still fall for it makes it funnier. No it's not funny, it's shit!! Are you 12 or something

Vacamion Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I've been going since 1972 & October 77 when we played villa at home was the worst trouble I've seen "inside" Filbert Street, loads kicked off in the kop, the game was stopped & the players taken off, hundreds went onto the pitch from the kop, leaving about 200 Leicester in pen 2/3 throwing whatever they could find at villa in pen 1. That was my first ever Leicester game, a few weeks before I turned 7. Never forget the trouble. Can't remember the match.
Vlad the Fox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 I can remember it kicking off in the Mon era, can't remeber who it was against but some yob on the pitch kicking people in the head. From what I know he never even got prosecuted, despite cctv.
GaelicFox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 Same here, Black Lion Plaistow.Really good banter and no hint of bad feeling. Same pub ...gem of a place
GaelicFox Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 A friend of mine (geordie) just sent me this on twitter... http://t.co/PhLVbuHDp8 Looks like 1-0 to the villa there In all seriousness that's a joke to call that hooliganism , it's some lads getting over excited And the punches ...dear me my nana slaps harder than that No one in that situation was ever getting harmed , apart from a cone and a bin Not good but not the worst
