ktfox59 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Having now virtually got the Kramavic deal over the line, do we really need to sign another striker before the window closes, or now concentrate our efforts on other areas of the team? With Ulloa having already shown his ability in the premier with a 1 in 3 strike rate so far in his 1st season at top level which imho is a great return considering many would say pre signing, he would struggle to net 10 in a total season. He has shown potential that with a quality striker alongside he has the ability to work to develop an understanding with the new man. So should we be concentrating on a quality attacking cm to compliment and pick the passes for the strikers to feed off. Or does that mean as others have said Nuge can play that role to better effect, and spend money on a stand out cb, though to me that would be harsh on Was to be dropped as he for me is one of the best performers this season. Thoughts?
Blanesta Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I'm sure we could buy another striker and still strengthen other areas of the team.
Nick Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I think money isn't the be all and end all this month to the Thai's and Pearson - I think we'll buy whatever is available and right for the club - and that could mean LB CB ST or an attacking mid.
VLC86 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Regarding Ulloa, the thing that worries me is the rest of his play. No doubt he can finish but he looks sluggish and to say he has 8 already this season the chance he fluffed at the weekend didn't strike me as a confident striker.
cc_star Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I think we'll be ok with just the addition of a finisher, however Nige will want to add anyone that he thinks will improve the squad while balancing the fact he doesn't like working with a fat, demotivated squad

Number 6 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Agree, also the header against Liverpool was very poor, also the number of times he is out on the wing instead of being in the middle is slightly annoying Think this is borne out of frustration at lack or service to be honest. He was poor against Villa but I think, looking at the season as a whole, he's been pretty good at finishing off chances.
Ric Flair Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I can see Maloney coming in but maybe he'll go for another striker too. I can't see how you can keep Ulloa, Kramaric, Vardy, Nugent + 1 more striker happy though. Wood will be off no doubt.
MooseBreath Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 The best LB money can buy who will come here please top
Tom's Pasta Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 A winger would be my priority, Nathan Redmond please.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Get another one in. We owe Nugent, Vardy and Wood nothing. Honestly don't think we can have too many in the squad at the moment. We gave The Championship winning side their chance, they didn't quite deliver so now we have to be ruthless and just go for whatever gives us the best chance of winning the matches that we need to win to stay up. If people like Nugent, De Laet and Wood are unhappy with that because it pushes them to the the fringes then so be it.
Joe the Fox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Agree, also the header against Liverpool was very poor, also the number of times he is out on the wing instead of being in the middle is slightly annoying This. Lost count of the amount of times he's received the ball out on the wing, hopefully Kramaric with his bit of pace and flair can get into these areas and leave the big man to poach and work in and around the area
Claridge Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Agree, also the header against Liverpool was very poor, also the number of times he is out on the wing instead of being in the middle is slightly annoying Ulloa takes a lot of stick to allow players like Nugent to play.Looked poor against villa but was always the one occupying the defenders. The best defender we have at corners. I think hes been a fantastic signing this season, imagine if we had played all season with Vardy/Nugent combo. First season in the prem,8 goals and some people find fault
Leicesterpool Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 The amount of chances we miss we could never have too many strikers! We do need to look to strength also on the wing, plus another option at left back.

And btw im not getting on nuge's back. Just an observation as to why many people may have said he isnt a premier league striker.
LCCFox96 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 If someone of real quality becomes available for a price we can afford, considering we are bottom of the league and have been struggling for goals this season, why any of our fans would not want the signing is beyond me.

No doubt he can finish but he looks sluggish and to say he has 8 already this season the chance he fluffed at the weekend didn't strike me as a confident striker. Think part of the problem is most people have realised that if they can cut of the supply to Ulloa they can to some extent stop us. He knows up until now he has been our main hope. I think it will help us immensly having another goal scorer in the team - it will take alot of pressure off of him.
Kitchandro Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I wouldn't be unhappy with another striker, if we're splitting hairs and prioritising though left back is most important, perhaps a centre back. I certainly don't think we need another central midfielder.
Superpants82 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 If we got another in I would expect us to see GTF, Wood and Nugent go either in this window or in the summer, especially if we stay up.This windows buys will be as much about next yrs strength as this yrs survival, which is why Pearson and Co are spending well.
lancyclaret Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 It seems the Thais are ready to "splash many, many bahts" to make sure you stay up. I was surprised to see Shearer tip you to get relegated and Burnley to stay up.

I suppose given how well you're doing he might shut up but I'm sure he'll bring it up in an interview before the end of January.
sylofox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Do we know for certain if we are in for anyone else. The only ITK info we seem to have got so far is from Croatia. Our own ITK's don't seem to be coming forward with much. Praps something to do with the slagging down they get when wrong. lol

He was poor against Villa but I think, looking at the season as a whole, he's been pretty good at finishing off chances. Lack of service is such a cliche. Look at the amount of chances we create only for a striker to **** up the finish.

No doubt he can finish but he looks sluggish and to say he has 8 already this season the chance he fluffed at the weekend didn't strike me as a confident striker. Think he's poor and that all he has done is score goals while disrupting our overall play. Not up to PL standard with his all-round play - whether movement, linking up, and holding up play. Requires too many touches, just is not confident with the ball at his feet
