Cricket 2015

I don't really know anything about cricket, but I've been into this the last few days.

So England are chasing 509.

How many do they need for a draw?

Just don't get bowled out today or tomorrow

I think the aim is the draw, keeping Cook in will be essential to that, since he has been dropped from the one day team, he seems to have realised he can leave balls when he knows they're not hitting his off stump.

If we're in a good position come lunch tomorrow, 250/300 for 1/2, do we go for it?

Nothing as long as aren't all out by the close of play tomorrow. We could end on 21-6 after 100 overs and it'll be a draw. Australia have to take 10 wickets.

All i've heard is the media talking like we've lost, we cannot win (Or draw for that matter), I don't think we can win, but I am quite hopeful of a draw, just take things slow. Rain wouldn't go a miss either! Haha.

Too often we're in strife early on, we lose three or four wickets before 40 is on the board and it puts too much pressure on Stokes and the rest to survive. If we lose two wickets a session we'll lose, so we need to lose one at most and also throw in a wicketless session.

The pitch is fine, we have a good side but we buckle under pressure too much and that's why I don't think we'll hold out.

All true.

Big ask to bat this out, too many batsmen seem to have obvious weaknesses which continuously gets them out.

Would be incredible to survive and the confidence that will bring.

Hmmm!

there was no chance we'd see out almost two full days, we rarely see out a whole day in situations like this and it seems we probably won't this time either.

Whilst it was highly unlikely, we could and should have expected better than this.

I don't rate Cook, I'm sorry, and Lyth well thats another story.

really? it would've been nice to put up a decent fight but i'm not sure why anyone would "expect" it. we very, very rarely do. in situations like this we've become used to watching re runs of old ashes classics for the final day and a half of a test match because we've already pathetically given up on the one we should be fighting to stay in.

must be a few years at least since we last dug in to get a draw?

Well if you don't rate a player who has scored more runs than anybody else in the history of English cricket then there really is no pleasing you.
