marko Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Anyone watching the under 19s? We have an opener called Lawrence who looks the business, apparantly already has a first class ton for Essex. I'm watching. He looks good. That bowler Hatcher is a right gobshite - definitely the next head bogan.
Voll Blau Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 Believe he's off to Yorkshire at the end of the season. ITK.
Guest MattP Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 Are Yorkshire ever not going to win the Championship again?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 August 2015 Posted 19 August 2015 Gutted to lose him, he's been amazing to watch the past few years. Duckett's signed a new contract though. He'll be the next one to come through properly and get snapped up by one of the big boys.
Voll Blau Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Bowling. Apparently greener than Trent Bridge. Read Clarke's not happy at Siddle playing over Cummins too!
Captain... Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 A proper days test cricket so far, good to see, we're not bowling badly the difference is Australia aren't gifting us wickets.
marko Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 The England U19's went well at Grace Road Maybe there's a curse on whoever is the home team there.
Guest MattP Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Lacks the intensity of the other tests this one.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Sunday and Monday forecasts looking iffy, might be a 3 day test but not as we're used to.
purpleronnie Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Yep, temperatures could reach 30 degrees in London by Saturday then thunderstorms. Hope the forecast changes.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 What's the point having a no ball rule anymore? I don't think Johnson has bowled a legal delivery so far.
Corky Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Should have at least 8 more runs down to uncalled no-balls.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Some poor shots in this innings. you don't fancy this side to respond to a big first innings score from the opposition.
Corky Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Just let Mitch bowl from halfway down the pitch for fvcks sake.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 The batsman have gotten away with it due to a couple of abysmal Aussie performances. Other than root no one else has performed, no one else has a century do they? Far from the finished article this side.
Guest MattP Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Strange thing is we've batted well on the tougher pitches and collapsed on the better ones. Cook and Bell received two corkers but the rest of the dismissals here have been very average.
StanSP Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Shows what happens when the desire isn't there. They don't need to win so it affects mentality and hunger. It's a bit of a write off before the first ball was bowled.
fuchsntf Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Saving this test isnt difficult...Just do what Cook, and Trott did in the 1st test, the last time we won the Ashes in Aus... Now its time four the 1st 4 Batsman to sit in and apply themselves..! All talk about Lythe on his way out, but if Bell cant get a decent score, after moving to 3, his place in the side must also be questioned.Bairstow has 1 yr in my opinion to cement his place, or step back. Rashid should of been selected, again selectors denying potential, and a chance of looking at another player, who we will need in the next year. Butler needs to grind out a 50-70score. Stokes also needs a good innings, just to prove he can hang around.

Skittled for 149, Clarke has enforced the follow on for the 1st (and last) time in his career as captain.Lythe & Bell especially need to bat well now.
purpleronnie Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Oddest ashes series I can remmeber. One minute we look like wold beaters the next the worst, the same with the Aussies. But in the end we won.
