Bobby Hundreds Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 He doesn't sweat a bead. amazing achievement.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 He's just gone past Kallis as leading overseas run scorer in the subcontinent.
leicsmac Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 Out off a no ball. They didn't check it. Fuming.
BoyJones Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 Absolute disgrace. Robbed Cook of maybe his last chance to get 300. They don't come around very often. Umpire must have known the bowler was close. So many no balls these days, umpires don't bother to do their jobs. And what about the non striker, he must have seen it. Needs to open his mouth. When I played village cricket and was the non striker, I always kept an eye on the bowlers feet and was soon in the umpires earhole if the bowler looked like an overstepper.
Guest MattP Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 I thought that about the non striker as well, he should have asked the question.
marko Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 I've watched the replay and Buttler was looking down the wicket at Cook.
Captain... Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 Gutted for Cook, but great to see the kind of application required on a pitch like this from a number of batsman, we have given ourselves an incredibly slim chance of winning this, which is all that can be asked after a big first innings score. Shame we couldn't up the scoring rate a bit and that Root and Bell couldn't go on to make centuries, but you look for positives in a match like this and there are positives, lets see if we can attack them tomorrow and if Rashid can be that match winning 5th day spinner he is rumoured to be...
Corky Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 And yet, thanks to Piers fvcking Morgan, he'll probably be most remembered for the KP debacle.
marko Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 And yet, thanks to Piers fvcking Morgan, he'll probably be most remembered for the KP debacle. Piers hasn't be very complimentary about his innings on Twitter today.
Captain... Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 Piers hasn't be very complimentary about his innings on Twitter today. What's he said?
marko Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 What's he said? Amongst other things, called him an epic bore, unwatchable, unspeakably dull and that he will be responsible for the death of Test cricket. He also said he'd rather feed himself to the alligators than watch another Cook innings like that, so I'm hoping it's another flat pitch in the 2nd Test. If he wants to unleash he should direct his anger at the pitch curator for the slow progress of this Test.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 Morgan is just bitter that KP has been dumped by England's greatest ever batsman.
fuchsntf Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Morgan is just bitter that KP has been dumped by England's greatest ever batsman. Hes a typical prawn sandwich supporter, knows nothing about cricket or any sport. Because Cook is English, PM wants to do some points scoring, forgetting, all top teams have 'Walls' or 'Grinders'. Allows the Roots, the de villiers, Stokes, Dhonis, Smiths to flourish.
purpleronnie Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Very impressive, yes its a good pitch but when a team hits 500+ first innings it must be extremely difficult to bat knowing the best result you can achieve is a draw. To be in within a small chance of victory is even more impressive. We have had real problems in the past coping when opposing teams hit a big score on a flat pitch, bodes well for the future.
Corky Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Why do we have a review system yet no Hotspot or Snicko? What's the point?
Alexikokopops Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 And what about the non striker, he must have seen it. Needs to open his mouth. When I played village cricket and was the non striker, I always kept an eye on the bowlers feet and was soon in the umpires earhole if the bowler looked like an overstepper. I thought that about the non striker as well, he should have asked the question. I guess these days they spend their time looking down the pitch to help the striker decide whether to review an LBW. Obviously something you don't need to worry about in village cricket!
leicsmac Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 The umpiring and DRS has been hugely questionable this Test.
Guest MattP Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Been absolutely horrific, how he gave Misbah out but not Hafeez was so queer, the latter was a clear deviation and the former had nothing.
Guest MattP Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Trying to save a test match and three batsman get out running down the pitch attempting to slog sixes.
Guest MattP Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Turning siodeways now, never seen a pitch deteriorate so fast.
purpleronnie Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 If we win this I'd put it above any win against the Aussies this summer.
Guest MattP Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 I can't us chasing anything above 6 an over on this pitch though given the way it's spinning, incredible effort though to get close, get these last two out in the next 3-4 overs though and we can have a go.
