shailen Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Okay I know we are statistically after 22 games, with the most defeats. But having seen almost every game, we have pretty much competed in every game bar Swansea and West Ham. We have performed really well against all the big teams, should have beaten Arsenal and Liverpool away. Spurs at home was probably the most one sided defeat I have seen. The reason I hate where we are right now is because I don't believe we are playing that badly. If we were being outplayed fair enough, I would accept it, but we are not. The problem seems to be in either box, conceding soft goals, and not taking our chances. Pearson has made some attempt to rectify this; Kramaric is an improvement for sure, and Huth will add some vast premier league experience if he signs. With Upson back and when Mahrez returns, surely we will have enough to get out of this mess
Guest ttfn Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Not a chance and that's something pretty universally recognised by pundits. But we are where we are and we need to overcome the fact that we haven't had many breaks this season and make sure we get enough points regardless.

Benguin Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 QPR, Palace, Swansea, west ham, Aston Villa first time, Burnley 2nd half, Newcastle, Stoke 2nd and Hull (ironically we won)were all dreadful. Most of the others we could pass for a mid table prem team. Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U we were excellent. I'd say we are where we deserve to be now but I feel we also deserve to get out of this mess.

Well firstly we were decent first half, and possibly the better team. Second half fair enough But you cannot judge on one game, because surely Sunderland have put in the worst performance this season losing 8-0 against soton

Judging on 22, the answer is yes. We are the worst team in the league.

Donut Posted 30 January 2015 Posted 30 January 2015 Oh were the worst team in the league, no question. Whilst seemingly being worse teams than us, our rivals have picked up more points. Every team at the bottom will give the unlucky stories and "on another day" stories, but yep, no qualms about us being bottom, SO FAR we are the worst team.

Inability to create enough chances, particularly away from home and also too many defensive errors have cost us. However I think we have a lot more potential than some of the teams around us.

Individual mistakes I absolutely agree with. Too many players have let us down in different games, but the general play has been at times excellent. My point is other teams look awful and win. We don't seem to be picking up points even though we have played well throughout the season imo. Think last season and the start of this season has spoilt us to the extent that we expect too much, but performance wise I dont think we have been let down at all. Maybe it's the lack of quality in either box, or just not getting the luck that we need. Although our recent run has been good, I still wonder at times, if we look any different to the side that was losing narrowly week in week out, except for the obvious we scored one less than the opposition

But I'm judging by performances not results, simply because we haven't got what we deserve imo. What is interesting for me, is we seem to do well against teams that try to play football. Spurs, Chelsea, United, Arsenal and Liverpool, we have played well against all these.

Dan Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 I don't think we are. I don't believe QPR are better than us. The rest I'm unsure on. I think there's very little in it. Kramaric could be a difference. There's nothing to say that he won't play for a top side one day and he could win us games on his own.

foxfanazer Posted 31 January 2015 Posted 31 January 2015 We seem to gee ourselves up for the games against the big teams but struggle to replicate it against the teams around us. Really wouldn't surprise me if we win today and lose to palace next week

It's all to fight for in the remaining matches. Yes I do agree with this and why I believe it's a weaker league this year. Probably why we will need less points to survive than the norm which may be around 34/35 points.
