I'm not getting this Kramaric bashing. He's had two and a bit games, one of which he'd have won a penalty if not for incompetent officiating, one where he came on against a decent side who were playing for the 0-1, whilst half fit, the other being Saturday where nearly the entire team were hopeless. Were people really expecting him to come in and waltz through Man Utd's team and score? Give him a proper chance. We've paid nine million for the bloke. We haven't spent that much whilst bottom of the league for cover.

He's shown some promising glimpses as well I think. Not getting the hate. This weekend's a huge chance for him I think, he's fully fit, we have our most creative player back and we're playing against a side who are average at absolute best at this level.

Are people Kramaric bashing already?

Why?

It's going to take him time to adjust to the most demanding League in the World. Bar none.

Is there a bashing / hate in this thread? There were some idiots in the Man U match thread. But the vast majority have got him in their team, the only reason I can't put him in my own team is because I don't know what he brings to the table yet. That's nothing against him, I just don't know him like the management team will. I don't know exactly what he brings to the table beyond him looking a tidy finisher on youtube.

That’s because there is no hate.

You’ve created your own extreme version of someone else’s post. This is why some debates on here become so ridiculous,

I’m questioning whether it was a good idea to buy another striker rather than an attacking midfielder/no. 10.

I think we needed to improve on Nugent’s role, not Ulloa’s. I don’t think Kramaric does this. Therefore, the point is that we’ve spent our whole budget on a player who won’t get into the starting 11 unless we drop our top-scorer (or revert back to the 442 that has cost us so many points this season).

Does that make sense to you?

You don't know that he won't improve Nugents role, the Croation fans said his best position is the number 10 role. It's very hard to judge from a few minutes against some decent teams.... he could be shit or brilliant.

IF there is an issue with Kramaric, it COULD be that we've signed a striker that takes time to adjust to the pace, physicality and intensity of the Premiership. The problem is we have spent a lot of money and don't have much time.

There are signs of quality there, but it must come through quickly. A case of needing to hit the ground running.

Good luck to the kid. I hope he plays Saturday and scores.

I'm not seeing any 'hate' for him though? That word is used far too freely on here.

Will be interesting to see him with Mahrez, perhaps even Cambiasso at some stage (if we went three in the middle), as those two are really the only ones with the sort of vision to thread balls through the middle.

Spot on in my opinion. We can't sign a striker for a record fee then starve the kid of quality supply. That would be criminal.

However, I see us actually playing well on Saturday and winning. And I think Cambiasso will play and play well. As you say, in a three would enable that.

I'm not sure how many times I have to repeat this before it gets through, but here we go again. It is proven that it takes 3-4 months to adapt from the Croatian league to the prem. How do I know this, because he's following in the footsteps of about 5 previous players who were the best players in that league and took that long to adapt. The best by a long shot was Modric, and he took until Xmas to get going. The same with Eduardo who went to Arsenal as the best striker in the league by a long shot. They came late in the summer windows and took forever to get going, and were murdered by the fans of their respective teams. When they got going they were great, but it took that long. Nobody has ever come from that league and been an instant success. I'm sorry to say that Kramaric is not better than Modric or Eduardo. We all wanted him to be, but it's obvious already that he's not going to be the saviour of the team for a fair while. Like I said, he shouldn't be starting and shouldering that responsibility just because you paid top dollar. It won't speed up the adaptation process because you paid 9 million quid. Spurs paid 14 for Modric, and it still took 6 months

He's neither brilliant nor bad, he's just normal. It will be April and May where he will most benefit the team, he just needs to try and be a super sub if you will until he adapts. He is best suited to playing the last 30 minutes when others are fading and he is fresh. This is pretty obvious knowledge for anyone who knows football. Wenger says it takes 6 months for anyone t adapt, that is his golden rule. On top of that he's not even in his best form, he hasn't scored for about 6 games nw in Croatia and here. Sorry, but I agree with those who say Nugent needs to start

True. But if I said it after the event you'd have told me it was easy to say with hindsight! :D

No I've not seen enough of him. Unfortunately though, all I can remember is his fluffed over-head kick from the edge of United's area. Which reminded me of something Beckford would have tried.

Lord help us if that vision becomes true.

As this is on Setanta and I'm in Leeds this Saturday. I have to ask, does anybody know if there will be any pubs likely to be showing the game in Leeds Center?

Good post. I think you’re right.

Unfortunately though this just begs the question as to Why we’ve spent £9m on a player who isn’t really going to help us out of our current predicament?

We’re stuck to the bottom of the table and we need players who can contribute now.  But Pearson is building for next season? Ostrich. Head. Sand.

Whichever way you look at it, this is a bizarre transfer.

(And that’s not bashing Kramie. It’s questioning the increasingly erractic behaviour of the fella in charge: Lord Pearson).

Surely no manager in their right mind would spend our transfer record fee on a player who might take 6 months to acclimatise. Surely Pearson believes Kramaric will start scoring goals quickly given our current plight. I'm not having this.

If you can't buy foreigners because of adaptation time you are stuck with people in this country. Most premier league players will either be unavailable or out of our reach. Any half decent championship player costs about the same as this lad did, plus our fans would be going nuts if we'd just signed a championship striker and moaning about that signing as well.

I doubt there was a single option available that couldn't be critisised in one way or another. We either try or we don't and if we hadn't there would be critisism for that.

Les Ferdinand said QPR looked at him but came to the conclusion that he wouldn't hit the ground running in the Prem, which is what they needed from a January signing.

FWIW I think he should have come off the bench before walking into the team but Chris Wood proved otherwise when he made his debut & the games which followed

I also want to see him with Albrighton. He tends to be taken off when Albrighton comes on which has frustrated me as I think that he is the type of player who could get on to the end of Allbrighton's crosses. Having said that it seemed to work at Spurs. Also looking forward to seeing him play with Mahrez and Camby.

its tough to come off then bench to try and change a game.  if we're winning then its different. i would rather start him and find a formation where we can actually supply some service to him whilst still protecting our back 4. thats the tough decision that needs making. two wingers ?  perhaps not. without the ball, we cant create anything worthwhile. just hoofing it long is a waste of time. with two wingers and two strikers in the PL, you arent going to see enough ball to make things happen.

Pearson Joking on the Pre-Palace press conference  about he could pick 3 at the back when Huth is back from suspension, could see a 3-5-3 style formation being played in the latter stages of the season..
