Not that money alone justifies him starting - but we've surely done that in mind with him being the difference in games such as this one. If he's as good as he's meant to be, it will show against teams like Palace. I fully take the point about Nugent being a good link-up man though, I'd be half tempted to start those two but would probably still end up going for Ulloa & Kramaric. The reason? When has Ulloa ever looked anything but useless when coming on as a sub? Nugent on the other hand often improves us when he comes on. I'd probably go with Albrighton and Schlupp out wide. I think Albrighton deserves a start. Mahrez is a great option to bring on if we need him too. I still think both Mahrez & Albrighton are better than Schlupp but it's hard to not want Schlupp playing given his recent form. It's a tricky one.

That wasn't aimed at you, just a coincidence, I saw a lot of people playing one up front which I don't agree with. Ulloa can just be there to anger the away fans given his Brighton links. That for me is why Upson should play as well. The more angry people the better. I'd consider playing Upson if he's match fit anyway.

Incredible how people are still pretending Nugent isn't at least partly responsible for most of our decent performances, even after Nugent played better than Kramarić was when he came on yet Kramarić gets the 'he needs better service' card and Nugent just gets abuse whenever he does anything slightly wrongEdit: Unless that was a joke post, which would be understandable but the line between real posts and those taking the piss is disappearing quickly

Plus, against teams who sit back we need people who have skill to beat the defender ie Albrighton and Mahrez, not just raw pace (Jeff). At home to Palace, Jeff should still be able to get forward a lot, even from LB. Won't happen, of course.

Eskay Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 I'm not a huge Simpson fan. He seems to be far too one dimensional and just hoofs the ball down the line each time he gets it. The worrying thing for me is the number of different combos of lineups....and I don't mean just on here but pearson have a million ideas too. The signs of a unsettled team that is low on confidence. Its all sqaure pegs in round holes this season. Sad.
