cc_star Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Pearson Joking on the Pre-Palace press conference about he could pick 3 at the back when Huth is back from suspension, could see a 3-5-3 style formation being played in the latter stages of the season.. At various stages Hull, QPR & Man Utd have proved it is fraught with difficulties, even with a summer to iron it out, nevermind changing philosophy 3/4 of the way through Although they've maybe been going wrong by playing a goalkeeper instead of a forward in a never seen before 353 formation
ousefox Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Bit off topic but looked at the Palace forum and apparently they're going to start a compulsory £100 food and drink levy in a part of their ground to spend over the season - fans are not happy!

Lisac Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 You don't know that he won't improve Nugents role, the Croation fans said his best position is the number 10 role. It's very hard to judge from a few minutes against some decent teams.... he could be shit or brilliant. As a Rijeka fan I'd have to say he's not a no.10, he just likes to play deep (and wide) so he can link up and position himself, a shadow stiker. I didn't manage to watch every minute, but what I did see is a lack of comunication, Kram passing the ball and running into the area only to see the player who got the ball pass it the other way, or his through balls not expected by teammates. I don't think you should play him in the starting 11 when going for a draw, Ullua is more usefull in that regard and you really shouldn't be playing with two attackers against the top few teams. On the other hand he did get clearly fouled in the box twice already, the refs' incompetence is the only reason he doesn't have two in the bag already.
Wilson_6 Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Jedinak Out - http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/crystal-palace-captain-mile-jedinak-will-miss-leicester-trip-after-returning-with-ankle-knock-10026437.html
filbertway Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Jedinak Out - http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/crystal-palace-captain-mile-jedinak-will-miss-leicester-trip-after-returning-with-ankle-knock-10026437.html Nice! No Bolasie or Jedinak, two key players for them. Saying that, I remember Burnley rocking up with about 5 of their key players missing.
Stevosevic Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Nice! No Bolasie or Jedinak, two key players for them. Saying that, I remember Burnley rocking up with about 5 of their key players missing. and everyone on here saying it was a guaranteed home win
filbertway Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 and everyone on here saying it was a guaranteed home win I was all over it, think I banged 25 on a Leicester/Swansea double that day. Think both ended up drawing 2-2, Swansea against a completely off form Newcastle team. I also watched Coalville get hammered 5-0. That was a rubbish day.
cc_star Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 and everyone on here saying it was a guaranteed home win Impact of Burnley 2014/15 = Wycombe Wanderers 2000/01
ScouseFox Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 and everyone on here saying it was a guaranteed home win tbf we were comfortably better than burnley in the championship, we then signed better players than them (ulloa, cambiasso), then started the season as if we were the best team in the league, then burnley turned up with some of their under 6s and women's team on the bench having not scored since the 20th minute of the season and just been battered 4-0 by west brom, and it could've been 14. it would've taken an incredible doom and gloomer to think it would be anything other than a home win. this is a bit different.
Ric Flair Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Have we ever beaten an Alan Pardew managed side? My gut instinct is we have an appalling record against his teams?
chapero82 Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 This is a tough game they are like Stoke and we struggled against them at home
Babylon Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Have we ever beaten an Alan Pardew managed side? My gut instinct is we have an appalling record against his teams? We did the double over Saints when they got promoted.
Dickov22 Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 On a train reading the London Standard. Says Jedinak and Bolasie both in the squad for sat
Stevosevic Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 We did the double over Saints when they got promoted. Adkins....
Corky Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Have we ever beaten an Alan Pardew managed side? My gut instinct is we have an appalling record against his teams? Did the double over Reading in 2002/2003.

J.Lisemore Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Anybody hear about this Keshi Anderson lad? Reportedly in the squad for Palace, signed on deadline day from Barton Rovers for £30,000. Scored a hat-trick in 6 minutes against Palace reserves. Interesting.

filbertway Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 We (Coalville) smashed them 4-0 in the FA Trophy a few years back. He was signed because he was up against Paddy McCarthy and made him look a bit average. Fair play, good to see clubs giving non league players a chance. Seems to be a thing clubs are doing more frequently these days. Plenty of rough diamonds at that level.
Lasty Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Can see this being another dour, frustrating day a la West Brom, Stoke. 0-2. Very happy to eat humble pie with extra custard if proven wrong.
Ric Flair Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 4-3 to us. Kramaric, Mahrez, Wasilewski & Vardy
harpendenfox Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Everything is going to go in our favour. Speroni injured in the warm up. Gayle fires over from inside the six yard box within 5 minutes. Ref gives us a ludicrous penalty. Leo knocks it away. Riyadh sweeps past three defenders before teeing up Krama before half time. Palace huff and puff in the second half, but a breakway leaves Esteban with the simplest of tap ins. Talk turns to a top half finish.
