ramadaone Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Our best side (and the side I'd like to see) is this IMO. Hamer Simpson Was Morgan Schlupp James Drinkwater Cambiasso Albrighton Mahrez Kramaric Take it you weren't at Old Trafford ? Kramaric was like a lost little boy so no chance him starting up front on his own unless we start playing proper football and keep the ball on the deck
MikeyT Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Can't be at today's game cos of an operation on Thursday. Boo!!! Going for a City win. 3-1 to us. Kramaric getting off the mark.
raba Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I hate Palace fans. ( mind you I hate all other clubs fans). Do they think they are Lazio or Juve or some other 'Ultra' Euro bunch of bouncing twats. PLEASE. Do not do that Palace chant tomorrow. You just know the South London Prats will sing... " shall we show you how it's sung" Just take the piss out of these 'Pseudo Ultras'. I'm no wit, (as the few of you on here that know me will testify to), but there must be some chant we can do along the lines of... "Are you Juve in disguise, are you Juve in disguise?" I hate the attempt at copying Euro teams. I have said on here before that I love the passion of fans like Besiktas, Boca Juniors and Dynamo Zagreb. But that doesn't mean we should copy them. They are just trying to emulate 1970's English clubs. watch old tapes of Leeds, Spurs, chelsea in Europe. That was where these European Ultras picked up their ideas. Ok I'm one of the old Filbert Street crew who has rose tinted specs of the atmosphere in days of old. YES. It's true, old style singing and chants ( with that aggressive, Tribal edge) that's what I would like. Less of this 'Euro-pop' rubbish that Palace are pushing. Come on City fans, drown out those 'Euro' friendly Palace 'ultras' tomorrow. I understand that our unconditional support is very much 'marmite' however us fans enjoy having a sing song and the players enjoy playing in front of us. Travelling up today, always enjoy coming to Leicester and hope the game's a corker.
Stevosevic Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Pearson is going to play Nugent and Vardy isn't he?
Guest Bilo Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Pearson is going to play Nugent and Vardy isn't he? I doubt that to be honest. Anybody can see that Vardy is bang out of form and Nugent works best with a goalscorer at this level. I wouldn't be surprised to see Nugent start alongside Kramaric or Ulloa, but I would be surprised to see Vardy start.
J.Lisemore Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 With Vardy being clearly out of form, this obviously means Pearson will start him, can't be disloyal can he. As for Albrighton, he needs to start today, he's improved recently, we need his quality on the ball and he just needs a run of games.

Why I'd play Cambi further forward (supported by the two behind him) is to create those chances. Let's give him a role whereby he doesn't have to do much defensive work. Instead, let him sit in the middle and orchestrate our attacking play. He has the passing range to quickly set up the wingers and to slip balls through to Krammy down the centre. But he must be supported by the two behind him. Let Cambiasso get forward to supply those chances. Drinky and James can sit, win the ball, and give it to him. Palace have got big lads at the back. I can't see much mileage in just launching the ball into their box. Where we could benefit today is if both Mahrez and Albrighton cut inside, keep it on the deck and supply Kramaric that way. That's how I'd play today.

iancognito Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Schlupp has to start today which means Albrighton or Mahrez on the right and it's a tough call, probably Mahrez but it's very harsh on Albrighton who's done very little wrong since new year. The only other place Schlupp fits in is left back but he's far less effective there. If Vardy starts - in any position - it's a crime. Bang out of form and we have better options I think Pearson will go for this but I'd probably keep Ulloa up top on his own and have an extra body such as James in the middle if only to keep it tight for an hour Schwarzer Simpson Was Wes De Laet Cambiasso Drinkwater Mahrez Schlupp Ulloa Kramaric

A big no no from me.

Buzzell Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 We desperately need to win this. Really looking forward to this game. Hoping to see Kramaric off the mark today. Put £2 on Kramaric to bag a hatrick at 90/1
Dan Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Take it you weren't at Old Trafford ? Kramaric was like a lost little boy so no chance him starting up front on his own unless we start playing proper football and keep the ball on the deck Take it you realise we aren't playing a team as good as Man Utd?
Dan Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Sorry Col don't agree, Cambiasso is a DM always has been always will be, he doesn't have the drive that James has and he tends to look for passes over the top. A big no no from me. Cambiasso isn't disciplined enough to play as a DM. I said this in another thread but he likes to get forward more than people think and that leaves us a little exposed because he hasn't got the speed anymore to get back. He might've got away with it at Inter where they were 90% of the time on the front foot but not here. He can certainly be an asset for us though.
LCCFox96 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Its gotten to the point where I'm indifferent to who plays (I'll trust NP to get that right), who scores or who puts in the last ditch tackles. Racking up as many points as possible is all I want to see. 3 points today would be a huge boost for us and I hope the team make it happen! I think we will see: Schwarzer Simpson Wasilewski Morgan De Laet Albrighton Cambiasso James Schlupp Ulloa Kramaric Nugent to come on as I like him in the impact sub role as he has been effective in a number of games when in that role. Mahrez would start but I'd give Albrighton the chance as Mahrez has only been in training for 2 days. More to come from the Ulloa/Kramaric partnership. As they've only played against Spurs and United together hopefully, like posters are saying they'll get a bit more space and few more chances to work in today at Palace.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 So you'd play 433 with DD James Cambi in midfield and Mahrez, Albrighton and Kramaric up front, we'll get hammered. No, it's not a 4-3-3.I don't want to get two wrapped up in tactics, but it's actually a 4-2-1-3 Chelsea are the best exponents of this. With Matic and Mikel playing off the back four, and Fabregas in front of them. Usually then with Willian and Hazard out wide and Costa central. Hazard and Willian don't launch it into Costa. They cut inside and play through the middle. No, we aren't Chelsea..but I like that formation. Cambiasso does not have the legs to get back in a 4-4-2...but he DOES have a pass to unlock defences.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 If we are going to turn our season around, then today is when it must start to happen.

dayday Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I see Jedinak is injured and Bolaise is out, that is a big bonus
LCCFox96 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Let's have it right..what else has worked for us? We're bottom. Why not give it a try? Its an interesting idea and not one to criticise too quickly in my opinion. I think one of the best ways to get Kramaric to thrive is getting the likes of Cambiasso and Mahrez feeding him through balls. If playing Cambiasso ahead of two more defensively operating CMs is the way to free him up to make those passes then so be it. I wouldn't try it today - this game is hugely important in our season and we can't afford to experiment too much.
tripe Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Hamer Simpson Wasilewski Morgan De Laet Mahrez Cambiasso James Schlupp Kramaric Ulloa Good luck today!!! If a win againt Stoke was a must, this is, I don't know. a triple must.

Guest Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I want to see albrighton start with Ulloa and Kramaric. I think they need the service they need the service that he can give them.
