bald reynard Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 I see Spurs released Assou-Ekotto last night. Wasn't there a post on here a week or so ago (I can't find it !) that City had enquired about him ? Sometimes players are released if a deal can't be completed before close of deadline - and as Free Agents they're available outside the window. I wonder if he's one we might sign in the next week or so. Perhaps our contacts with Spurs over Lennon & Capoue might also have thrown up Benoit. He is a left back (well, of sorts !) and I'm sure many would agree we are desperate for one !
okie fox Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Not that desperate. Assou-Ekotto now not the same player he used to be.
NewquayFox Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Piss poor attitude, sooner have Chilwell in from our development team.....
davieG Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Have no opinion of his football abilities but you could also describe him as honest I have never bought into the hypocrisy of football but perhaps I'm more strident in my views now. I'm lucky and appreciate what I have, but football is just a job, a means to an end... there are more important things in life than kicking a ball around... Yes, I play for the money but then doesn't everybody who gets up in the morning and goes to work? They do it to provide for their family. It infuriates me when footballers go on about playing for the shirt. I think they should be held accountable for it when they kiss the badge and six months later clear off for a better pay day.[19]
LCCFox96 Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Assou-Ekotto has been woeful over the past 2 seasons.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Absolute shite. Nugent took him apart last season, worse than Konchsky with a shocking attitude to go with it!
5waller5 Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Have no opinion of his football abilities but you could also describe him as honest I like him already!!! I see Spurs released Assou-Ekotto last night. Wasn't there a post on here a week or so ago (I can't find it !) that City had enquired about him ? Freeman's Wharfer Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 As much as I thought he was a disgrace when we played QPR last season in terms of clearly not caring, what would we have to lose on a 6 month deal? At the moment if we don't play Konchesky we have to play RDL who showed on Saturday at Old Trafford that he isn't willing/able to go round the outside of his man on his left foot.
andog Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 What would we have to lose on a 6 month deal? A lot of games if he started at left back.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 I'd rather play with 10 men than have that idiot in our team.
SMX11 Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 No he is terrible. Can't people remember how he performed in the championship last year?
Will1981 Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 absolute scumbag should never play football again I remember him headbutting his team mate at the world cup, PS Konchesky is 10x the player he is.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 PS Konchesky is 10x the player he is. Alright let's not exaggerate
Robin JD Popley Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 I never thought I'd see the day we all thought Paul Konchesky was better than others in that position but today is that day. In all seriousness, though, what has become of the main bosman of yesterday* - Tim Cahill? He would be worth looking at! *I gave up giving a damn at about 6 because I had realised we had cocked up good and proper.
teblin Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Yes we need a left back. Lets sign one that is worse than both Konchesky and Schlupp!
Kitchandro Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Have no opinion of his football abilities but you could also describe him as honest There's being in it for the money and then there's playing like you're in it for the money. He's both.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 In all seriousness, though, what has become of the main bosman of yesterday* - Tim Cahill? He would be worth looking at! *I gave up giving a damn at about 6 because I had realised we had cocked up good and proper. Cahill signed for a Chinese team after turning down Moyes and Real Sociedad apparently
Fox92 Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 No. No way. He isn't bothered about football he just wants the £££.
Samilktray Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 I respect his honesty about football just being a job, but hes shit.
Dan Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 There are some thick ***** on here. We should sign him because his initials are BAE
