lestuhfox Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 I love it. First City game was 1970, Sunderland at home 3rd round. Won 1-0 with a Bobby Roberts goal. Would love to see us win the Cup and bring it home. Last Cup game Ive not saw live was Wolves away in 73. First Cup memory was going up town to welcome the team home on the Sunday after the 69 final. Dad, brother and brother on law went to the final. Come on City!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Classic! One of my earliest City memories!
bovril Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 The sound of Matt Elliott tackling Darren Eadie in the 4th round 97. Frank Sinclair with the ball seemingly tied to his boot, 3rd round 99. Knocking Arsenal out in 2000. Beating Spurs in 06, the highlight of a miserable few years.
Webbo Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Classic! One of my earliest City memories! I was there. I was also at Villa Park for the semi against Spurs
Dukes not bald Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 I went to the 1974 & 1982 semi final losses at villa park, bad news is I'm going on Sunday as well
LCCFox96 Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Celebrations post Nugent's winner at Norwich were brilliant.
Guest Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Enjoyed the away win at Charlton in the 5th round.. that cup run one of very few Craig Levein highlights.

Donut Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Ill keep this to positive memories, as im sure we all have one overriding negative one. Two if you were around to have seen Erland Johnson's dive for Chelsea in the replay at Stamford Bridge after we had rescued a 2-2 draw at Filbert Street in the first game. Certainly a few positives though: In the 4th Round in 2000, we brought Arsenal back to Filbert Street after a draw at Highbury, and no doubt Arsenal had the better of the game, but we held them to a 0-0 draw after normal time. At half time in extra time, O'Neill threw on his shootout specialist, Pegguy Arphexhad for Flowers, and we took them to penalties. Remarkably, we managed to topple them 6-5 !!!! In trying to think of those who missed their penalties, Lee Dixon certainly missed one after going down the middle, the final missing penalty taker's name escapes me. It may have been Gilles Grimandi. It was a strong Arsenal side, boasting the likes of Petit, Vieira, Henry, Suker, Keown, and later Arsene Wenger complained about our negative tactics. It was a fantastic result. In more modern times, I dont think anyone will forget Mark De Vries bagging at the death when we overturned a 2-0 defecit against Spurs under Levein. The flag stayed down and De Vries put it low to Robinson's left, the shot looked scuffed as it bobbled in, it was just a shame only 19,000 were there to see it with the TV coverage.

l444ry Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Sure this will fire a few memories for us older fans. Without wishing to fuel the current Pearson situation, this is why many of us find it difficult to accept the current state of affairs. Fans, atmosphere, decent players. What great days! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NB5Ds6Wfmb8

l444ry Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Aye 40 years ago. FFS. What comparison is 40 fvcking years ago to today? That's a discussion for another thread. But I doubt you'd ever understand either way.

Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 44 seconds onwards! Remember this game very well! What a great day out that was

fox in the sox Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Richard Smith last minute v Palace. Arsenal penalty shoot out. Spurs comeback win. High risk beating of Norwich.
ScouseFox Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 it's pearson's fault there's no atmosphere guys don't you remember how good it was under holloway before he arrived
Guest Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Remember this game very well! What a great day out that was Party lasted until about 8am after that. Great day. Shame the QF at Blackburn was such a damp quib. We took about 7,000 to Ewood.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Norwich away is my stand out game by a long way. After that probably Spurs 3-2
glenelgfox Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 2 decent memories all based on fairly scant TV highlights down here in AUS! One positive - vs Luton 74 and one very negative - that dreadful loss at home to Wycombe - saw that live on TV!
Foxes1 Posted 14 February 2015 Posted 14 February 2015 I was at both the Luton and QPR games absolutely brilliant days out, absolute pandemonium when we scored. Joe Waters what a hero on his debut as well I think. Remember the pictures of him in the Sunday papers. Lets hope we can create the same sort of atmosphere tomorrow as well.
