Darkon84 Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Oh gawd, she's at it again http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-berkshire-32037999 Oh dear. Who's work is she going to claim as her own, in order to find him then?
Alf Bentley Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Jolly good show this King Dicky burial lark, and should be beneficial to the city and all that, but..... Poor effort by the Royals that they couldn't send anyone higher ranking than Sophie Bloody Wessex, civvy spouse of Queeny's wastrel of a youngest son! Even if Queeny herself was off at the bingo or whatever, couldn't Charlie Boy have torn himself away from writing his green-ink letters for 1 day and got his scrawny arse up to Leicester?! You've let your nation down, Ma'am!

You've let your nation down, Ma'am! Benidict Cumberbatch and Robert Lindsay got a bigger reception (unusual term to use for what is in effect a funeral), well from the east asian community whom were grouped under the window of my office anyway. Absolutley no idea who any of the others hundreds of people were though, there really are so many hangers on with these kind of events.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Feck do we know where Mary Queen of Scots is buried !!!! Ronald better up his property insurance Got a theory her remains lie under Old Trafford. Time to get digging chaps!
Grewks Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Kind of puts my Nugent hatred into perspective, when a tyrant and a child killer is welcomed back to Leicester like a hero.
Spudulike Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Wearing a cream suit was a bit inappropriate. Then to sit there shaking your head and rolling your eyes in drama queen style just makes you look a bit of a plonka. Got even worse when he started plugging his book immediately afterwards outside the cathedral.

johnny the fox Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 The lad looks exactly as he did 530 years ago.. apart from losing a bit of weight ..
Spudulike Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Who you on about??? You didn't watch it then ?? The historian, John Ashdown-Hill, usually found alongside Philipa Langley, seemed to want centre stage.
Fox92 Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Not only was it great for Leicester but also was a fantastic demonstration of something so British. No other country in the World could the fine line between pomp and parody be so carefully trod, only we could dig up a Royal Shakespearean from a car park, parade him through the streets and bury him again whilst enjoying the process so tremendously. Because we're the greatest Country in the World.
Raj Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 You didn't watch it then ?? The historian, John Ashdown-Hill, usually found alongside Philipa Langley, seemed to want centre stage.Oh right sorry. No didn't watch today, just watching highlights. I'm surprised soulsby didn't take centre stage!!!

Voll Blau Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Because we're the greatest Country in the World. Alright Kazakhstan, calm down. Really think Leicester and Leicestershire has pulled this off well. Not OTT but enough to really capture people's imagination.
bigboy Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 What were the Yeoman Warders (Beefeaters) doing there today, they represent the wrong side. If my memory serves me corect they were formed by King Henery vi the killer of good King Richard!!!!

BlueSi13 Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Alright Kazakhstan, calm down. Really think Leicester and Leicestershire has pulled this off well. Not OTT but enough to really capture people's imagination. Nothing wrong with showing a bit of national pride dude. We very rarely indulge ourselves so why the hell not? If any country can allow itself a bit of self-indulgence every once in a while it's us. Sure as hell beats the chronic hand-wringing, self-doubt and self-loathing that seems to have taken hold the past few decades anyway Anyway what a fantastic few days in the spotlight for the city of Leicester. Really proud of the way we have conducted ourselves during this, a bit of pomp and ceremony but no grandstanding and pretending to be something we're not. I really hope the city can kick on now and attract some serious commercial investment and for gods sake clean the place up a bit. As an aside, what was the reason for the current Queen of England not being there today? Or any senior member of the Royal family in fact?

No argument from me on showing a bit of pride. We should do it more often.
