Fan attitudes in the crowd

You are very wrong if you think they won't be swayed by fans booing and chanting PEARSON OUT! It is the way 95% of managerial sackings happen.

Joker lol.

All owners of football clubs have their own set of criteria upon which they will decide to keep / sack a manager.

The fact that the crowd is generally starting to get upset is a by-product of one of those criteria not being met, which will most likely be 'win X amount of games, have X amount of points by Y date, be in X position by Y date', etc.

They don't just sack someone because they start going 'booooo' in the stands.

If our owners criteria is 'accept relegation to the championship and then nigel must get us back up again first time' then the crowd booing isn't going to change that.

You don't have as much power as a fan as you seem to think.

They should think further down the line though, at educated guess I reckon they will be atleast 5000 season tickets down next season, maybe more, i'm just thinking we had 7000 new ones this year I can see a majority of those not renewing - they'll probably be lucky to retain 2000 of those in all honesty, bearing in mind STH's who have been for years might not renew aswell, quite alot of money and revenue there.

STH's that have had tickets for years will odds on id say renew, all the day trippers that got season tickets for this year will f-off (dont forget a lot of the top 6 teams fans buy tickets just for 1 game and sell for the rest) and lets say in the championship they have a similar season to last season, we were selling out every week just like this year. they arent going to be bothered about a few plastics leaving

especially with parachute payments

People can show support to manager and it's amazing to hear, show discontent and they're idiots? Hmm..

This is a bloke that has publically embarrassed himself and the club in the press and on he pitch all season, looks to be getting us relegated bottom of the league with the second worst total in premier league history. And still remains as arrogant and self assured as ever. I wouldn't mind if he came across as a humble person learning in the game, but he just sounds like a bell.

What would he have to do for discontent to be fair from the stands?

Fair comment. Pearson has continually let himself, and the club down, with his petulant antics.

Is that any better than some vociferous fans? No,

Doesn't anyone go to games anymore and just be a Leicester fan.All this bitching about the manager or certain players is bullshit,we're Leicester full stop.If we rock an away end all game and lose then fvck it I'm happy with that,a win is just a bonus.

Me too. Heard 442, Pearson sort it out, but never once "One Nigel Pearson".

Agree with this entirely. I was also upper left side. I thought our support was fantastic yesterday.

Posted

Sorry but that's rubbish. I'm neutral towards Pearson so have no reason to lie, whereas reading these boards you and Monsell are constantly slagging off Pearson and the team so perhaps you conveniently covered your ears when the chants for Pearson were sung?

I am not claiming that it wasn't sung, I am simply stating that I didn't hear it sung.

I couldn't care less what people sing, you pays your money you takes your choice, the folks around me sang many songs but non of them were 'one Nigel Pearson'. It appears promised land (edited to say Vicky too) was stood in a similar area (beneath the spaceship) and also didn't hear that chant. The attitude in the crowd was quite good, a few ironic chants about heading to Brentford, a few impassioned calls for 442, some renditions of When You're Smiling but nothing to warrant the rather hysterical tone of the original post (nor might I add your reply).

Lower tier was decent, pretty much constant noise and a couple of new songs too. Saw one incident at 4-2 and I think someone got chucked out on the right hand side next to the home fans. Talking of the home fans, what a vile bunch of twats. When we equalised I ended up leaning of the barrier seperating the fans because of the surge of bodies and got spat at by some 16 year old cvnt. Absolutely disgusting behavior and not the first time I've heard it happen this season at WHL.

Thats vile mate.Did you have a bit of a finger pointing rant quite early on, I was at the top left lower and my mate said it looks like your mate from the pub is giving someone a mouthful.

Thought atmosphere was good and didn't hear any Pearson out chants, I did hear one bloke start something about foreskins but that was met with a lot of oh dears and sighs.

Thought Tottenhams fans noise was absolutely appalling and loads giving it the big un.

I had to have a piss after their 2nd( someone injured) some bloke said" right, I'm back of to Leicester."Then I saw someone get let out ,amazing. Why bother. Said to my mate at 2-2 bet he feels a twvt now.

Good to see you again mate.

Ooh exciting new rules for supporting your team......I Love it when these are laid down for us, what players we should like, what manager, how we should clap and when we shouldn't. Thank goodness the people there yesterday hadn't paid to get to London or into the game or they might have insisted on having their own opinion and spoilt your day (and broke your rules, the little renegades)

Really all it amounts is not attacking your team and not wanting them to do badly. The rule you're expected to follow if you support a team is to support that team. Hard to argue when it's put like that. Abuse of the players is frowned upon, sorry if that's what you like doing but most people don't appreciate it.

Also, on your point about fans having a right to their opinion - I agree, they do - but why go to the game if you don't want to see your club win?

I want my team to do well but to be told that I am a traitor for daring to criticise the great leader is some what Orwellian,  well no,  reminds me more of the of a fascist state ...Heil etc............

It is simply not the case that you will be silenced for criticising the current manager. Many people do so on this forum and are not accused of being traitors. You already knew this of course but hey, why let reality get in the way of a good sob-story.

It is the people who attacked (not criticised) the team and manager who are being frowned at here. The behaviour of certain individuals yesterday was detestable. Criticism is fine, abuse is not.

I was right hand side of upper tier and heard 'one Nigel Pearson' sung.

Couldn't have been loud, I was left upper and all I heard, mainly from the centre and right was 4-4-2, pearson out, and pearson sort it out.

Not saying it didn't happen, but couldn't have been many singing or loud, as could hear the upper tier well, and didn't hear it

Yes but that's when you get 95% of the fans doing it, not 5%. Or in this case about 1%

The same applies to the, "Pearson In" group then, doesn't it Babble-on, but I doubt you would respond the same way, to them?

Why would you write a letter to the owners asking them to not change their management structure?

if you cant support the club and everything about it, just ---- off, absolutly sick of it

Today a bunch of guys singing pearson out ect and okay, people have opinions but if you arent going to support the team why turn up? Today some guy infront of me trying to point his finger up in my face and swearing, without me retaliting and then shoted at some poor young lad infront of him just because he hates pearson, didnt celebrate when we scored....  Why are balloonheads like this even going to matches still?!?!

Today was a good game of football, very entertaining, just a shame being a leicester fan we were on the wrong end of it, but it was a good game to watch, why cant people just enjoy it?

enjoy not winning??? sports is about winning and thats it!! we are not winning so why the hell why should we enjoy it?

Absolutely agree spot on mate.

But it was a good game of football? and i enjoyed it, you dont have to win a game for it to be a good game

Chelsea

Arsenal

QPR

Tottenham yesterday and boxing day...

ect ect, all games we lost which were still good games and very entertaining, would you rather watch shit cheating players who dont care and win through no merit other than diving or would you rather watch a team that although lose or draw still play very very good football and is very entertaining

If you want to watch a team that wins every week **** off to scotland and watch celtic, you will not be missed

I think I get a bit of what your saying, yesterday I wasnt pissed off, as we fought hard and made a game of it, and if I we are going to lose this season I would rather it be like that.

We have been lame this season and most or a lot of defeats haven't been like that.

Also every fan should want their team to be successful, and saying these games were enjoyable, is more about how poor we have been this season.

In the premier league it was always going to be hard to stay up, but to get the results we have this season, we could and should have done better than we have, and as a football fan I want my team to win every game, but realistically at least highs and lows.

This season has mainly been lows, and if we can play like yesterday every game till the end of the season, there is hope, but we have been here before, do well against a good team away, built up hope of doing well against a lower team, and they have a shocker.

And if we sent every fan to Scotland because they aren't happy about City this season, I don't think there will be many at the kp.

Yeah I did at one point, a group of 5 or 6 lads that looked like One Direction were giving it the biggun at 2-0, I moved a bit further back after we got our first I think, when we scored I ended up at the bottom of the stairs next to the home fans, on my way up I gave them a wave and some salutations and one of them spat at me  lol

Thought our support was superb yesterday and really enjoyed the day cos of it. Spurs fans won't have had many go to WHL and be that loud for that long (can't think of any that have been like that at the KP)

All I would say on the Pearson issue (gone from being very pro to indifferent about it all) is that, regardless of the mistakes he's made this season, he deserves more respect than for anyone to actively chant against him or abuse him.

You can want him out, I have no issue with that. If I talk to you in the pub it's fine for you to tell me that. If I read on Twitter or here that you want him gone, that is also fine. But I don't agree with abusing him or turning on him vocally (also fine with you not joining in pro-Pearson chants).

Let's have a bit of respect for what he's done for the club and how he's turned us round. Twice. Let's remember where we were before his first spell, then where we were before his second spell, and consider if the man is really an 'arsehole'.

He might not have earned your support or affection this season but he should have earned your respect about five years ago.

Some people have really short memories.

You are obviously quite young - the fans have forced a change of the board at least once and forced several managers out over my time - a sound beating by West ham next week should see the axe finally fall - can he turn it round?- a win would surely buy him another couple of weeks

one of them me and my mate were laughing at much to his annoyance looked like Harry Judd from Mcfly( good cricketer by the way)

Agree to a certain extent but really think you are underestimating fan power. Yes might not be what it once was. And there are a lot of owners out there with their own agenda, think Ashley at Newcastle. But I still think if the fans are calling for a manager's head then he is on borrowed time.
