Rob1742 Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 We have made a costly mistake here and one we can't get out of easily. We wanted to keep Kasper for our Premier League push, gave him a great contract, with a clause that he could go if we were to go straight back down. With interest from other clubs, we thought he would be in the driving seat and we had a real asset. This season has proved, like some others too that he has not been able to make the step up, making him a decent Championship player only. So we now have a player on a big contract, who won't move on in the summer because all interest in him will have disappeared. Apart from other championship clubs that is that won't be able to afford him. So I think we will be stuck with him. Which means Hamer will want to move on as he won't want to be second fiddle in the Chamoionship. Also with Schwarzer having a further year, the young lad Smith may well get irritated by not getting the chance of being number two, so we could miss out on that progression too. So we have a keeper issue next season where we will lose good players due to the wages we have handed out to a keeper we thought was good. Worst still though, we have Knockaert, Allbrighton, Moore and Drinkwater who are all capable of getting us out of the Chamoiinship next season. But I am not sure how much they will want to get involved based on them being frozen out this season. Not personally bothered about one of them, but the other three would have played a pivotal role.
Guest Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 Schwarzer is clearly the best GK for me just a shame he doesn't have much of a career left in him. Hamer 2 He's a backup GK. Kasper 3 I really hope we can sell Kasper for a decent fee. His image is better than his ability so we might. I was worried all last season when we were winning with him but his performance has really been shown up in the Prem.
David Hankey Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 There are a whole host of players who haven't come up to the mark this season and many on here seem to forget what a terrific part Kasper played last season, easily worth 20 goals if not more.

He was a good shot stopper but so many other areas were poor. I hoped we'd get a replacement keeper in during the off-season, not a decent back up keeper (though that too if we could've moved him on).
FoxSince88 Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 Hamer was brilliant for the u21s last night. Made some great saves
Guest Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 Hamer was brilliant for the u21s last night. Made some great saves Who was he up against? Kane and Rooney?
FoxSince88 Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 Don't matter who you are up against when you can pull of a string of one on one saves. Distribution and coming for high balls on point
Babylon Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 “It’s not a case of Kasper’s back in and he’s an automatic choice, that’s not the case. But when you’re playing a counter-attacking style with pace like we did against Spurs, you need that extra distance with the distribution that Kasper has.“So that was the thinking behind that, but he will have the same rules applied to him in terms of selection."
Guest Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 Don't matter who you are up against when you can pull of a string of one on one saves. Distribution and coming for high balls on point So you're saying that making a one on one save against me is no different to making a one on one save against Messi?
shailen Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Think I said somewhere that kasper is our only match winning goalkeeper ans he proved that yesterday. Hopefully we can put to bed who our number 1 is now.

Matt Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 I said in the post match thread I am always open to changing my opinion, I've slagged Schmichel off a lot, with reason he's been poor for a lot of the games he's played this season. In comparison I think Hamer has been very harshly treated, to make matters worse he isn't even getting a place on the bench nowadays for not really making many mistakes or doing much wrong. Yesterday Schmeichel impressed, he did well, like I say if I'm not happy with how a player performs (especially if they are poor consistently) I'm not gonna sit there and make excuse, I'm not gonna be happy with it and will not it, likewise if the turn those poor performances round into good ones I will praise them give credit when credit is due, Schmeichel deserves that after yesterday. What I will say though is people layed into Hamer's distribution, well Schmeichel's wasn't perfect yesterday, it drifted out to concede throw in's a few times, notably the 30th minute - that was very poor, so let's have abit of balance, give and take there.
Guest Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 still can't comeoff his line but a great shot stopper. Sell high this summer.

He also set up/started at least six decent attacks yesterday. When he is on song, he is the most effective keeper we have had here since Walker.
st albans fox Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 He also set up/started at least six decent attacks yesterday.. The west brom scout will have noted that yesterday. Expect someone to stand on him as soon as he collects the ball to end an attack.
Haydos Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 still can't comeoff his line but a great shot stopper. Sell high this summer. And wins matches by himself as he showed again yesterday. I still think Hamer should have been given more of a chance but I'd take him or Schmeichel over Schwarzer every day of the week.
ithuriel Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Kasper impressed yesterday, hardly put a foot wrong, hope this is not a one off and he can keep this form up.

Haydos Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 You do write absolute crap. From someone who thinks Schwarzer is the undisputed best keeper we have despite being directly at fault for about 3 goals in as many games...right.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Think he's been trying to teach Hamer how to kick and rather than Hamer get better Kaspers got worse, unusually poor with his feet yesterday, other than that great stuff.
Jimmy Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Think he's been trying to teach Hamer how to kick and rather than Hamer get better Kaspers got worse, unusually poor with his feet yesterday, other than that great stuff. Kasper is often poorer then people admit with his kicking
ImBlue Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 You do write absolute crap. To be honest, I've been in 3 threads pal and seen drivel from you in 2, he made some wonderful saves yesterday, came out when he needed to and sprung some attacks quickly too.. Just try and give people credit after a good win, and stop trying to make arguments with people.
Matt Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Kasper is often poorer then people admit with his kicking Said it before I'll say again, I rate Kasper as a Championship keeper, he was brilliant last season except for his kicking, it was awful but I've hardly seen anyone barr you mention it, yet it's one of the first things people slag Hamer off for.
