weller54 Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 So Schmeichel comes back into the side and lets in 4... Hamer played so well in the games prior to Schwarzer taking over.. If we had a level headed manager who should be our No 1 keeper?
Matt Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Hamer. Not Premier League class but the best of the 3.
lgfualol Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Hamer. Can't believe he has been dropped for the other two. We might as well play a traffic cone instead of Schmeichel, and Schwarzer is like 50.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Another goalkeeper thread! Just what we needed. Rebound, massive deflection, penalty, own goal. Kasper not at fault for a single one of them - at a push could maybe criticise him for not leaving the first one to be headed off the line but that is so counter-intuitive, I don't think you could expect any goalkeeper to voluntarily miss a ball 2 yards away from his line on the assumption that someone will head it out. Still though, great argument. "KASPER PLAYS AND THERE IS A BIG NUMBER NEXT TO THE OTHER TEAM'S NAME BRING BACK HAMER"
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 I would say Hamer also but I feel it is a bit harsh to Kaspar to speak about him letting in four like he had a chance of saving them. 1 was a peno which statistics will show is more likely to go in than be saved as it is just a guessing game and 2 were deflections. Only at fault for one goal and he has been out for quite a while. Just saying.
AyewJoking Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 he needs to field kasper hoping he plays well and increases his value for when he inevitably leaves in the summer.

shailen Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 It's too simplistic to blame the keeper for conceding goals. Everyone in the team is responsible for defending as is everyone in the team responsible for attacking. Yesterday we set up attacking so we were likely to lose goals, and as mentioned already there is not a lot that Kasper could have done apart from the first goal. Possibly could have got more of a stronger hand on it. The second goal took a wicked deflection. The third was a good penalty. The fourth he did well to save it in the one on one, and could do nothing about the deflection off Schlupp.
cc_star Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Hamer > Schwarzer > Schmeichel Schmeichel is one of our most overrated players ever. I wouldn't even say he was average. Still... shouting, pointing and kissing the badge is all it takes to rouse the rabble Hamer best by a mile, he's not great... But easily best of those 3 Hes Pearson's 3rd choice though

cc_star Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 he needs to field kasper hoping he plays well and increases his value for when he inevitably leaves in the summer. Flaw in the plan is he can't play well and we'll be stuck with him, again Hola Madrid?
FoxInTheBirstallBox Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Saying Kasper isnt at fault for ANY of the goals is just daft, just because he wasnt near enough to stop the ball doesnt mean he wasnt at faultever heard of positioning? something kasper is woefull at!!!! especially on his right hand side, set pieces and attacks on his right he has been useless at for the last 4 years! Its got to be Hamer for me, the best of a bad bunch

VLC86 Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Bring Logan back for shits and giggles. This season has been tragic so I recon we should just try and make our own fans laugh.
FoxInTheBirstallBox Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Yeah he should have saved that deflected 2nd goal off Huth's head which took the ball in totally the opposite direction. first goal, and to an extent the 4th, him running out doing the stupid starfish. How can you defend his for those? and on a side note, not just that. His delivery..... jesus Fing christ will he ever learn?
StanSP Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 first goal, and to an extent the 4th, him running out doing the stupid starfish. How can you defend his for those? He saved the 4th for **** sake. It cannoned back off Schlupp something for which Schmeichel couldn't have dictated. Seriously, what else did you want him to do?
Dan Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Pearson's handling of goalkeepers this season has been dreadful. It seems like as soon as you hit any form you get dropped. Even Schwarzer was starting to look decent last week and he's dropped for Schmeichel? I don't think we'd have conceded that first with Schwarzer or Hamer too. Schmeichel's weaknesses are exposed hideously at this level.
kingfox Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 What's Hamer done to deserve all the love? Can't kick & has made errors himself. Schmeichel on his day is our best keeper, at the minute though I'd go with Schwarzer due to experience, yes he had a shaky start but last few games he has played he has done well.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 What were people expecting for the first goal btw? How is that Kasper's fault? It's not seriously being suggested that he should have left it and trusted that somebody a yard behind him on the line would nod it away? He got his fingertips to it and it happened to fall to Kane. And he clearly was not at fault for the other 3 goals either! An awful shot deflected to the opposite side of the goal, a penalty, and a very unlucky own goal after a good save. And to the divs saying stuff like "HAMER BETTER BY A MILE", what the frig are you talking about? What has given you this degree of certainty? There really is not a great deal between the 3 of them. All have their own strengths and weaknesses. How can you say one is definitely and overtly better than the others? The inexplicable and quite excessive Hamer love-fest continues regardless.
