Reg Vardy Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 After coming off the back of an incredibly tough run of games Arsenal,City,Everton, Tottenham we are still more or less in touch......I for one looked at our fixture list in the summer and thought it will definitely come down to the last eight games Accepting we need to start winning, we have the three teams directly above us plus safe but not going anywhere Newcastle,West Ham and Swansea....Sunderland and Burnley have stinking run ins.....tall order I know, but I am certain Nigel and his team looked at these pre season thinking we can do this......so stop moaning everybody, get behind the team.....if Hull was a must win(didn't they play well yesterday?) West Ham is a must must must win game....coyb
m4DD0gg Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Erm how many wins have we had against teams around us.....1 (one) all season! I doubt we will take much more than 5 points between now and end of the season. Playing 5 at the back against Hull last week says it all.
st albans fox Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 I'm damn sure Nigel realised the opportunity still existing infront of them - hence his 'frustration' interviews following the dull and Spurs games A couple more points covers unexpected results such as burnley v citeh the teams above us will pick up unexpected wins between now and end may. I'd rate our chance of survival at 10%.
justfoxes Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 And we won't win games leaving out top players like Albrighton and kramaric and playing calamity Morgan, always thought we looked pretty strong on a back four with Wasileski in the squad ! Pearson doesn't know what his strongest 11 are he's far to busy tinkering with the squad sticking with his mates ok calamity Morgan got a goal Saturday but ratio of his goals to his calmity defensives mishaps letting players past him etc out ways his goals scored ! Pearson is far to egotistical allowing his ego to rule over team selection where Albrighton is concerned we are missing his perfect crosses and I for one as a former Pearson fan is now far to fed up with his constant tinkering last minute substitutions team selections and nonsensical formations his arrogance outbursts and foul language towards fans and journalists he is an embarrassment to the club !! . I'm hoping we can still avoid the drop

I'm hoping we can still avoid the drop 'Top players like Albrighton' The same Albrighton who was mostly sub last 18 months at Villa, same Albrighton who my villa supporting friend said 'tries hard but lacks any pace or real quality' - BANG ON. So hilarious how players out of the side suddenly become world beaters. If he was good enough, he'd be playing.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Hamer is out of the side but I would like to see him in, he is definitely good enough to be playing.

suffolk fox Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Same old same old another op another topic where if you show any justified criticism against him or his team you get pilloried by the same usual suspects and regular nothing better to do it must be boring at school or college today posters. Said some time ago until he sticks with a settled team, settled side and stops playing five at the back now disguised apparently as a 3 4 3 with wingbacks with the speed of slugs we ain't gonna get 30 points. Can't beat teams around us haven't all season take off your blue tinted specs and accept relegation it makes it so easy. Burnley and West Brom will beat us away and we ain't gonna get owt from our home games either. As for Albrighton this a young man who has not been given a chance by the messiah yet has played previously in the premier league. Go on the villa forums look at old topics a lot of their fans were gutted when he left them for us.
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Hamer is out of the side but I would like to see him in, he is definitely good enough to be playing. This. Personally I think he's our best keeper by quite some distance.
Babylon Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Go on the villa forums look at old topics a lot of their fans were gutted when he left them for us. Oh I've seen them... they were pretty much split half and half. Half thought he was utter garbage and injury prone, the other half thought he'd shown glimpses of talent and that he might make it after a decent end to last season. Although if Villa fans are anything like ours, they might well be overstating the quality of a player that comes through the youth ranks. Also, you do know that an internet forum is for posting your thoughts. If you post something people disagree with, you will be challenged. His point on Albrighton has been challenged, so why make it out to be an attack of some kind. Also, try opening your eyes. Look at the first responses to the OP, those on your side of the fence disagreeing with him. Are they also being "pilloried by the same usual suspects and regular nothing better to do it must be boring at school or college today posters."
cityfanlee23 Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 We need to be playing something like a 4-2-2-2 Ulloa and kramaric have shown their best traits as strikers have been poaching the box, you only have to look at previous goals scored by both at previous clubs, Ulloas form came early on when the ball was being played into the box or atleast when he was able to get in there, it's clear our two record signings have a natural poachers instinct. Nigel has completely played against that, and has Jeff on the left wing who cant cross to save his life, and mahrez on the right, who does not play the traditional winger role, and cuts in more often than not. The only way for us to start scoring goals again is go back to the tried and tested in my opinion, we arent good enough for the 4-4-2 a this level as we've established, our wingers are not playing the 4-4-2 wide midfielder role. everytime schlupp gets space he runs and never crosses until he is right on the byline, meaning the ball has no pace and is going away from goal... Mahrez does the same, or the same old cut in and cross it with his left which plays to the defenders strengths... Get albrighton on (our best crosser) Get Mahrez on the left wing (so he can cross with his favoured left foot) Or knockaert. Have 2 box to box midfielders (one given a free role to move forward, the other being cambiasso who's job is to get forward when he can but ultimately keep a tight midfield. Defenders bloody defend and only support the attack when neccesary, Get ulloa and Kramaric IN THE BOX, And pump that ball in behind the defence and let them bloody attack it. 9/10 whenever Ulloa or kramaric get the ball they are dropped back into midfield, how the hell does nigel expect us to score??? we are defenders dream. Go back to the tried and tested, Get the ball into the box, let the strikers and advancing midfielders attack it.
m4DD0gg Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Ffs how many times it was not 5 at the back. Oh ok let me put it another way, negative and boring.
Leicesterpool Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Hamer is out of the side but I would like to see him in, he is definitely good enough to be playing. I actually do agree, Schwarzer for me is simply too old and little hit n miss for me, Kasper I think at this level is a little sloppy, on saturday he was dreadful. Hamer is really the only one I think in his performances not to have made many cock ups.
Max Power Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 The reverse fixtures of those 8 games: West Ham - Lost West Brom - Lost Swansea - Lost Burnley - Drew Chelsea - Lost Newcastle - Lost Southampton - Lost Sunderland - Drew QPR - Lost Can't share your optimism mate. Maybe if we get more than 2 points from now until the end of the season people can spin it into IMPROVEMENT and giving Pearson an eight year deal. But not for me. We're gone.
Silverdaz Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 This. Personally I think he's our best keeper by quite some distance. Really???, you reall think this you obviously didnt go to any pre season games he still third choice keeper but his time will come its just that Kasper and Mark are better than him at the moment

Too old? did you see his performace against Man CIty if he makes saves and dives like that at 42 then ill have whatever he has taken

He ain't playing because Pearsons ego to what albrightons Mrs posted on Twitter and lambert was a knob Albrighton can change games and he has done when he's eventually played !!

Lets be honest the post that criticised Pearson before yours was unbalanced and a load of accusations that are wide of the mark and unproved, is it any wonder those who back Pearson struggle to take some of the arguments against him seriously with the pure hatred of how they are written. I changed justfoxes post at an attempt to make a more compelling argument and I know I would find it harder to disagree with it if I wasn't having to sift through personal insults and constant 'ego' 'mates' 'abusing fans' comments that are always included. I'm hoping we can still avoid the drop And we won't win games leaving out a creative player like Albrighton and a capable goalscorer such as Kramaric, whilst playing a centre back who has made a number of mistakes in Morgan, even though we have looked pretty strong with a back four containing Wasilewski! Pearson still doesn't seem to know what his strongest 11 at this stage of the season which is fairly concerning, surely such a lack of consistency is damaging. He can't rely just on those players who got the job done last season, ok Morgan got a goal Saturday but his ratio of goals to his defensive mishaps letting players past him etc out ways any positives! Pearsons team selections and tactics are a cause for concern, for one reason or another, we don't know what the issue with Albrighton is but we are missing a player who can deliver some dangerous crosses as seen in some of his breif appearances perfect crosses. I used to be Pearson fan, but now far to fed up with his constant tinkering last minute substitutions team selections and nonsensical formations his media handling and foul language towards a fan and a journalist comes across as unprofessional and doesn't reflect well on the club !! . This was a good response until the last sentence - it doesn't appear to be just down to ability - there are players that are not even making the subs bench that are better than the team that Pearson is selecting.

Socks Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 I agree. We're like a Wart Hog in a fight for survival with a Tiger. We will cause some damage and leave few a few scars but we always end up having our necks broken... Going down
