st albans fox Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 benthefoxface - sadly, neither the tooth fairy or santa exist. sorry to break the bad news to you what will definitely happen between now and the end of the season is that sland, hull and west brom will get unexpected good results. whether thats a point against a top side or a win against a mid table one will dictate how our season ends (assuming we can continue to pick up some wins). i still think that 35 points (poss 34 if our GD comes into play) will be enough.
bovril Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Wouldn't it be ironic after all the talk of fine margins and not getting thrashed, we stay up on goal difference.
Number 6 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Pfft, we all know his team talk is about how we're the market leaders and our pound note department is leading the market. "They spent £8m on the lad sat on the bench!"
Number 6 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Another way to look at it: would you want to be Hull or Sunderland right now? As has been mentioned elsewhere we've been forced to come out fighting. If Newcastle could do the reasonable thing and help us relegated their neighbours, that'd be great.
The Doctor Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 "They spent £8m on the lad sat on the bench!" in fairness, Nigels new trainers cost more than their stadium, since no-one wants to be in Burnley - not even Burnley fans (the only one I've ever met came from Surrey).

Finn Claw II Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 I had Sunderland storming up the league! We stay up on goal difference us, QPR and Burnley all on 34 points, West Brom bottom on 33. Burnley win last day of the season but don't score enough to push us into 18th, draw on the last day good enough for us... Safe to say that isn't going to happen!

The Quick Brown Fox Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Who predicted the last two results correctly?
Number 6 Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 I had us beating Newcastle and Sunderland and drawing with Swansea, Soton and QPR. Stayed up by a point, QPR survived on goal difference. Sunderland, Burnley, Hull down.

Staffs Fox Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 The below looks like me being overly optimistic but I've gone for the following results which I think you'll agree if pretty fair. I've hardly given any points to Sunderland, WBA or Hull but then again would you looking at their run-in?? v Swansea W (2-0) v Burnley D (2-2) v Chelsea L (2-3) v Newcastle W (2-0) v Southampton D (1-1) v Sunderland D (1-1) v QPR D (2-2) 14 Aston Villa 37 15 Leicester 35 16 West Brom 34 17 Burnley 32 18 QPR 31 19 Sunderland 30 20 Hull 29

I've hardly given any points to Sunderland, WBA or Hull but then again would you looking at their run-in?? but they will. they wont get only one point from their remaining fixtures. not all three of them. unless we are on a crazy unprecedented run of wins, this going down to the wire. like villa at spurs, each week one team above us will pick up an unexpected result. hopefully will be surprise draws as opposed to wins
Staffs Fox Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 but they will. they wont get only one point from their remaining fixtures. not all three of them. unless we are on a crazy unprecedented run of wins, this going down to the wire. like villa at spurs, each week one team above us will pick up an unexpected result. hopefully will be surprise draws as opposed to wins Oh I agree 100%, but when presented with individual score predictions for every game, even if I'm being impartial I couldn't realistically and logically predict they'll get much out of the games, The reality will be somewhat different as we know football has no logic
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 I'm worried about likes of Hull going and getting a result at Spurs, who have nothing to play for really as they dont want Europa seemingly and cant really do top four. Will be plenty of twists before season end, i expect Hull to get some decent points somewhere as i do for Sunderland too.
Kilworthfox Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 I think 35 is going to be enough to stay up. We need at least 3 wins. We need to make sure we don't lose to any of Sunderland, QPR or Burnley! I think Newcastle at Home will be our best fixture for a win, seeing as they are pretty awful at present & should be safe already. I have us in 16th on 34 points. However more important to any of this, is that we maintain our performance levels from the last 2 weeks. We have relied on 2 late goals, & that probably won't continue to happen in the remaining fixtures knowing our luck! I think we have a real chance, but we have to give everything for 90+minutes, keep on going even if we have set backs & we can definitely stay up, as our fate is now up to our results!
hackneyfox Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 Anyone got a link to the predictor where you put in the results for your chosen team and the rat are sorted on form? Thanks

Will be plenty of twists before season end, i expect Hull to get some decent points somewhere as i do for Sunderland too. Looking at Hull's fixtures now they don't look that horrendous as a lot of their opponents will have little to play for. Sunderland and Hull will be looking to beat us and Burnley at home respectvely and scrape another surprise win or a few draws against other teams. It's a real threat to our survival but we can only effect what we do and hope our relegation rivals make things easier for us by shooting themselves in the foot. I don't know why teams are afraid of the Europa League, I'd play a second XI and if we got to the latter stages and were safe in the Premiership you can play your best XI. Looking at the team we played against West Brom and not starting any of them we could still field: Hamer Simpson Konchesky Moore Wasileweski Mahrez Knockaert Hammond King Drinkwater Krameric It's a great way of giving youth and the second string proper game time and a chance to stake a claim.
Guest Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 35pts and staying up. Anyone got a link to the predictor where you put in the results for your chosen team and the rat are sorted on form? Thanks Fish - on this thread.
Foxymcoxy Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 35pts and staying up. Fish - on this thread. Agreed, got us above Hull, Sunderland, QPR and Burnley. I also have 18th place on 30 points though which I find hard to believe....
eye666 Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 I think we can get something from the Chelsea game. Costa will be out, and I reckon there's a good chance Fabregas and Matic will be suspended. Both are one card away from a 2 game ban, and with big games against Arsenal and Man Utd to come where you'd expect a competitive and feisty midfield battle, I really wouldn't be surprised if one or both were out as well. If that were to happen, keep Hazard quiet (wishful thinking I know...) and I think we could get at least a point. I'd certainly take a turgid 0-0 and move on.

I think we have a chance of getting something from Chelsea. They looked like creating nothing against QPR and could have easily lost it instead of winning. Drogba looks finished at this level and if we keep it tight and look to nick one you never know? It's not a "bonus" game for me but one I'd have expectations of seeing a point from.

Think we're on the same wavelength. Let's hope we're right. I think I had Hull, Sunderland and Burnley going down which surprises me - I felt sure that QPR would be at the bottom.
justfoxes Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 Wonder what the odds are us going undefeated for our last 7 games ??
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Bump for this thread. What outcome do we all get now? I keep getting us staying up
