Next season who would you like to see come in?

Surely Lucas Leiva is exactly what we want. He's available for a realistic price id imagine too. Love to see him back on his attacking creative midfield role for us.

Can't really argue with this.

We do seem to take a difficult approach to signing players, when ultimately the fans can see "easier"outcomes to filling roles in team, with a similar player, with the same characteristics, which are seemingly available on the market.

For instance you could pick up Lucas and say Courcuff (free agent) and this would sort all issues within our line-up.

Was thinking about this. I've not watched him much obviously but from what I've heard he would kind of fit the mould.

He's experienced but not too old at 28, played at a high level, played plenty of Prem football, solid player. On the other hand he's had injury problems and he's less creative than we'd probably like, more of a ball winner and a harrier. We seem to have brought in Kante to do this job, although he might be better on the ball than we know about, a possible box to box type. If Claudio is happy giving him a more creative role then Lucas could be perfect.

Would also be a good player for Kante and the other lads to learn from with his experience at club and international level

Yoann Gourcuff - free agent.

Won Champions League with Milan.

Got a bit of an attitude apparently, think that was why he was bombed out of Milan, according to most pages on the forum most people don't want 'bad apples'

Securing the signature of a player can be a rather complicated affair, because it sometimes involves a lot of different parties, not just a player, an agent and two clubs. Negotiating a suitable contract also takes its time - think of all the add-ons that could be part of a package, special wishes, etc.

You can't in this day and age simply call up an agent, explain your situation, make an offer and then expect the official representative and the player in question to show up with a signed contract within 24 hours.

If it is true that Ranieri has been in touch with the player directly on multiple occasions, then it's safe to say the manager (and/or the club) have identified Inler as a key component in order to move up the table this season.

Also, it remains debatable whether other transfer targets would or would've come here quicker. Have you seen the Aranguiz thread? :D

Leiva isn't traditionally as defensive as people think. Made to play that role because he's strong and hard working, but essentially likes to be far more attacking. A bit like Milner.

for me...Inler, Amartey and then maybe get a winger in on loan.

Then I'm done and happy with the summers business

Someone's had a bid accepted for Dwight Gayle. I'd be amazed if it wasn't us. Very versatile young forward with lightening pace and a good work ethic. I'd be happy.

I am sure I saw it was Bristol City.  For real.

Let's hope he's another Dos Santos. Doesn't look bad though. 7 million for him, must be something missing.

Buy back clause of 8 million probably

Yep! I think the only issue is Barca can't make room for these players until 3 or 4 years down the line.

Then if he's so good why Villa? Doesn't make sense.

It is a strange one, and could be another Dos Santos.... but I watched him 3 times last season and every time it was just edge of your seat wow.

Who knows, maybe he really does just want to play, get himself seen etc.

Once Inler arrives, (assuming he does) I think we would only need one more player and that would be a left mid. Schlupp is the only natural left winger we have so I would think we should beef up that area.
