Richard Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Burnley (26 points): West Ham (a) Hull (a) Stoke (h) Villa (a) QPR (27 points): Liverpool (a) Man City (a) Newcastle (h) Leicester (a) Sunderland (30 points): Southampton (h) Everton (a) Leicester (h) Arsenal (a) Chelsea (a) Leicester (31 points): Chelsea (h) Newcastle (h) Southampton (h) Sunderland (a) QPR (h) Hull (31 points): Liverpool (h) Arsenal (h) Burnley (h) Tottenham (a) Man Utd (h) Villa (32 points): Everton (h) West Ham (h) Southampton (a) Burnley (h) Arsenal (a) How many points do we reckon we'll need to stay up?
The Doctor Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Said 35 a couple of weeks ago, still think that'll be enough: Sunderland and Hull won't both pick up 5+ points with those run-ins.
Benguin Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 I think 37 will be the number. 2 more wins which could come form QPR, Newcastle, Sunderland or Southampton. Really want to be safe come QPR so we can just enjoy the last game
Zapp Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 when you look at sunderlands fixtures you almost think avoiding defeat to them & QPR would be enough in itself to survive however we have proven successive wins can be accomplished and i think 7 points might be required a 4 point cushion over sunderland when we meet them would add 5+ years onto my life i reckon.
cc_star Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 2 wins may be enough if 1 of them is against Sunderland
Richard Posted 25 April 2015 Author Posted 25 April 2015 It all rides on the Sunderland game, if we avoid defeat there I think 5 will be enough
One Legged Beaver Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Two wins should be enough, maybe even just one if that win is against Sunderland!
HoustonFox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 We need to beat Newcastle. Having to go to Sunderland and then beat QPR on the last day would end me Burnley's run in isn't that bad.
FrankieADZ Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 id say we need 35, looking at the other run ins. i'd rather us try & win every game tho.
Raw Dykes Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 The amount of points we'll need seems to go up every week. I'll say 37/38. Looking at those run-ins makes for a good read. Four at home, and only one away for us. Hull, QPR and Sunderland have some really horrible fixtures left. I'm half tempted to say that QPR and Burnley look doomed, but then we know better than anyone else not to write them off too soon. The best thing about today is that it looks like we could catch Villa or even Newcastle, meaning we might not have to rely on just one team messing up to survive. More teams to catch means a better chance of catching one of them.
RobHawk Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 35 is the number! Hope we finish with more than that given where we are now. QPR look done with their run in. Tough for Burnley to but at least they have winnable games. On paper we could finish well clear leaving hull and Sunderland to fight out but we all know it won't be that easy!
Tuna Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 We need to be very careful with the 6 pointers. Ideally we'd need to be safe before the QPR match. 2 wins and a draw hopefully.
NewquayFox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 We will finish on 40 points 2 wins 3 draws, Burnley, QPR & Sunderland to go down, Villa stay up with last minute goal in final game.... Up the City....

Bilo Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Sunderland need to be safe by the time the final whistle blows against us, given their trips to the top two, that's a huge ask with that run-in. I can see the bottom three staying exactly as it is.
emmpii8 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Burnley (26 points): don't see them getting more than 3 = 29 points QPR (27 points): 1-3 points at max - 30 Points Sunderland (30 points): 4-5 points I guess = 34-35 Points Leicester (31 points): Can get 8 but I say 7 = 38 Hull (31 points): 4-6 = 35-37 Villa (32 points): Easily get about 6 points = 38 With those estimations I'm going for bottom 2 to stay the same and Either Hull or Sunderland to go down though would have thought Hull are more likely
Mrfox452 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 I still think it'll go to the final day. Hope not,im only 20 but i dont think my heart coukd take it.
fuchsntf Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Lets now take, a real look at these rest games...and a look of end of season, not obvious results.. Burnley (26 points)... > 31-33pts <: West Ham (a)....draw Hull (a)...............draw/lose Stoke (h)............win Villa (a)..............draw QPR (27 points)........> 33pts<: Liverpool (a)....draw Man City (a).....lose Newcastle (h)..win Leicester (a).....draw Sunderland (30 points)...> 35-37pts <: Southampton (h)....win Everton (a)..............lose Leicester (h)...........draw/win Arsenal (a)..............lose Chelsea (a).............draw Leicester (31 points)...> 36-38pts <: Chelsea (h)...........lose Newcastle (h).......win Southampton (h)..draw Sunderland (a)......draw/lose QPR (h)..................draw Hull (31 points)............> 36-38pts <: Liverpool (h) Arsenal (h) Burnley (h) Tottenham (a) Man Utd (h) Villa (32 points): Everton (h) West Ham (h) Southampton (a) Burnley (h) Arsenal (a) How many points do we reckon we'll need to stay up? Hull and Villa, take your pick...champagne or selters.
Kitchandro Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Surely Newcastle should be considered as well? They have lost 7 in a row, only 4 points ahead of us and we have a game in hand. If we beat them next week we could conceivably go above them.
Kitchandro Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 I'm trying not to look too far ahead, we have 3 home games before we play Sunderland, who knows what the situation will be by the time we play them.
