StanSP Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 The way he mocked him at the end....'are you... are you erm what....this is stupid' *walks out*. And the 'ostrich' comment. Magic.
Akinbiyi24 Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Another after timer saying he should have done this that or the other Bet you didn't say that at half time I wasn't stupid enough to think we would win at half time
Corky Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Stop being weird, Nige. Genuinely think it's a really unsubtle way of taking the spotlight off the players. I don't think it's to do with taking the pressure off the players, he's probably just very short tempered with people. He's always had issues with the press and with the extra interest there's more scope for getting annoyed. He's not an actor or a bullshitter, he tells you straight what he thinks. Whether you agree or not he doesn't hold back. Problem is that he's got a back catalogue so this will be blown up.
ousefox Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 He said 'What criticism are you referring to that your players received that you don't think is right?' or something along those lines
Akinbiyi24 Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 To be fair its bullying and ridiculous. Its a fair question. What criticism has there been of the players exactly this season. The media have all been saying we have been playing well and have been unlucky to be where we are.
Callabinho Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Piers Morgan is having a pop, that fat irrelevant **** would tear a hammy doing his laces up.
Corky Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Piers Morgan is having a pop, that fat irrelevant **** would tear a hammy doing his laces up. He's just had a row with Sean from Enderby Prat.
Zapp Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 No problem with that at all How about journalists start upping their game. Nige owes them no hospitality when they try to belittle him.

I agree with his personality but there's a middle ground where you don't just insult people. The reporters there to get quotes, even if he's aware of the criticism (he's seemingly been in the pressers) he wants him to talk about it.
Merging Cultures Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 That was uncomfortable! The players haven't received too much criticism really. Glad the reporter took it with good grace. NP needs to stop drinking at half time.

Akinbiyi24 Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 I have a feeling hes getting sacked in the summer even if we stay up. The thais will be dismayed at his antics this season off the field.
ousefox Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 In the skysports video does he say 'don't thank me', then ' ...........**** me' when he leaves? That was a bit harsh in my opinion. I've supported him on other occasions when he's done similar stuff but that was a bit OTT
fuchsntf Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Whats even more amusing, and down right funny, are the fans who use this to criticise Pearson.. Hes a football manager, not a sunday school teacher ffs.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Brilliant from Nige as per. Don't ask shit questions you won't get such sharp put downs. Pearson doesn't buy into this media bollocks that surrounds the Premier League and I'm glad he is like that. Journo's who watch us play a couple of times a year and have very little knowledge about us looking to fill half a page of a paper asking shite rent-a-quote questions.
ealingfox Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Well he'll look a mug if we go down. If we don't, who's to say it wasn't part of the plan?
Harry - LCFC Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 I think this is the only incident this season where I disagree slightly with Nige. The team has had criticism but I don't think it's been over the top as he appears to be suggesting. Indeed there's been plenty of recognition for our good performances and misfortune. It didn't appear to me that the journalist was suggesting there had been no criticism, just that it hadn't been excessive. I have a feeling hes getting sacked in the summer even if we stay up. The thais will be dismayed at his antics this season off the field. You're dismayed you mean. You're just translating your opinion onto them. We've seen this thing before - not from you specifically but it was the same sort of sentiment. After the FOAD incident people just assumed that the owners wanted to sack Pearson because they themselves wanted him sacked. It's verging on Cantona and his "seagulls" speech. I thought that too. Not quite as elegant but similar.
cjslcfc Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Just read the transcript on the Mercury online. I'm pretty sure if it was their pal Jose they'd be lapping it up. Personally, I really don't care much for how Pearson comes across in the media. As long as they are talking about him and not the team losing then it's something that works to take pressure and spotlight off the players.

Hes a great manager for us. But the thais will not like this side show
cjslcfc Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 Scrap the Cambiasso idea for Sunderland, anyone got any ostrich masks?
Bettsj2 Posted 29 April 2015 Posted 29 April 2015 The question seems reasonable so can only assume that Nige has done this to deflect any critisism from the players to lift the pressure on Saturday.
