That's exactly what he does, banter with the journalists so they don't start attacking his selections, tactics or more importantly players. Obviously it seems facetious but it works, all the talk will be of Nigel's post match comments, not so much the game / results.

The media have all been saying we have been playing well and have been unlucky to be where we are. Read about 3 pages of this forum - the knives have been out from a number of angles all season, you've got to have your head in the sand to have missed it.
