Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 Don't think it really matters whether he'd have him on a free or not, your part time P.E teacher of a manager could offer £10m for him and Nige would just laugh in his pathetic face imo.
KFS Posted 6 May 2015 Posted 6 May 2015 Wow, what is that Wolves fan on? Anyway, Sako would be a good filler. If he'd come for 30k a week then go for it.
The Bear Posted 6 May 2015 Posted 6 May 2015 Am I not allowed to have an opinion on players now? Jeez. No need to get so precious about it just because I support a different club. I know enough Leicester STHs who agree with me to know I'm not rating him for no reason. 1 goal and 1 assist last season (assuming that's correct) says plenty. If he's improving fair enough. But he's not what we want or need right now. In my opinion obviously. I'd have Knockaert though.
foxfanazer Posted 6 May 2015 Posted 6 May 2015 Massively overrated. Goes missing in far too many games. Good goal scoring record in lower leagues though

Jeff would piss on the Championship. His only criticism has come from being caught out by world class talent when playing as a left back. The boy has successfully played three positions in the English top flight this year, I can't agree, sorry. Knockaert is physically not up to it. He was arguably our best and most creative player last year. But watching him running after the West Ham back line whilst they effortlessly passed the ball round him just said it all.

Yes but saying something daft like "I wouldn't want him on a free" is going to get a response isn't it. And well done for getting that response you were looking for. I know everyone's allowed an opinion but you're just wrong Schlupp is 22. He played his first full season in the Championship last year. He only played just over half the games. Pretty much all of those games were spent at left back, a position in which he had rarely played before and one where you're not going to get many goals or assists (hence 1 goal, 1 assist). In his second full season for the club he is playing Premier League football and has made himself a regular at left midfield/left wing back (yes another position he had rarely played before). He has 3 goals and 1 assist this season. Those stats don't jump off the page but he's also scared the living daylights out of many a PL full back with his pace, power and directness. So in only his second proper season of football Schlupp has become a regular PL winger/wing-back having been brought up as a striker and shifted to a LB in his first season for the club. I understand the stick Schlupp gets (from myself included) because at times he looks lazy or looks like he doesn't know what to do, however any Championship club would want him. Who could say no to a young player with potential who is versatile, fast, strong, powerful and has had a full season in the PL where he's improved no end in another new position? Come on, let's not come out with daft things like "I wouldn't want him on a free". Also, one of the people that's been knocked out of the team as a result of his rise is Knockaert.
cjslcfc Posted 6 May 2015 Posted 6 May 2015 Schlupp has scored 4 goals and about 4 assists. I was talking about in the league
sylofox Posted 6 May 2015 Posted 6 May 2015 He is definitely good enough to be part of our squad, I have no doubts about that. But if he wants 50 bags a week, well then he can suck my chuddies. We don't need good enough to be part of our squad we need first team players. Also players that can hit the ground running. We carried in to many players this season that were good enough to be part of our squad and needed time. Thats why we are in this mess as well as Niges mistakes.
Gerard Posted 6 May 2015 Posted 6 May 2015 The only players coming to the club to be squad players are young talent. Signing players who aren't good enough for the first XI is a recipe for disaster.
WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-fc-transfer-rumours-la-9372325 Last paragraph, nothing much but we've been mentioned
Ric Flair Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I'd still take him but the dream is for Gradel to come back
AyewJoking Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Hes been a regular for Arsenal and Man City so would be a great option for our defence.
VLC86 Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Hes been a regular for Arsenal and Man City so would be a great option for our defence. Ok mate.
FoxLAD Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I wouldn't mind him on a free. Good player to bring on for last 20/30 mins of a game.
MPH Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Don't think we are really looking at him to be a world beater and taker the prem by storm.. If thats the intention then yes, this would be the wrong signing.... with knocky leaving there is a squad space to fill and maybe have someone who come off the bench and do a job? They have been intrested in Wood in the past so maybe Wood for Sako?
foxoffderby Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Take him for free squad player. NP back room team have a history of scouting/ buying out of contract or players coming to the end of their contracts. Wouldn't be surprised if this happened.
Matty Hamez Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Like others have said, very happy to have him fill out the squad on a free. Just not if he's really expecting to get 50k a week.
1884Fox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Decent player and wouldn't mind him tbh. He's out of contract isn't he? If so then I'd take him for sure, could be a good impact player
