TOMBlcfc Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 50k a week, no chance. How can he be asking for more money than cambiassoHow much is cambiasso on?
iancognito Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 How much is cambiasso on? 30, less than Albrighton & Vardy Wouldn't even consider Sako as an improvement & I'll bet very few of the bottom half clubs will either.
Monsell1976 Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 Think we need to be looking at improving on what we already have, is he really any better?
Stevosevic Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 Can do better than this althoughw we will need squad fillers
Webbo Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 30, less than Albrighton & Vardy I doubt that. I'm sure that it was generally believed to be around £35k at the time. I'd be surprised if Vardy's on more than £30k.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 He'd be a good coup as long as we're not paying shite loads for him
Scotch Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 If it was earlier in the season,I would have jumped at the chance to sign him but with players we already have, finding their feet at this level like Schlupp and Vardy, I wouldn't pay what we will have to pay for him as I don't think we can afford to wait on him finding his feet in the EPL (assuming we stay up that is) I reckon that there is prob more cost effective and safer options available.
Swiper Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 Depends on cost. For the right price he could be a solid pick-up. Definitely not a priority, but could bolster the roster a little once more important signings (Huth) have been completed. Would be a huge boost to get someone like him for set-pieces. Albrighton has looked great lately, but is he capable of delivering any direct free kick goals? That's a skill set this team is sorely lacking right now. I don't know if Sako is the answer but we could do worse.
Fox in the North Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 He'd be a decent squad player. You'd just have to see if he'd cut it a level higher. He's made some defences look very silly this year and his confidence level will be sky high. If he is gonna play in the Prem it's now or never but it's got to be at a reasonable price.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 Good player but I'd like us to set our sights a little higher if we stay up and get some proven talent. Oh God, I used the word 'proven' I'm having transfer talk flashbacks of horror. I agree. If we do stay up, we need real quality coming through the door.
FoxyPalace.com Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 better than knockeart? Got to be better than somebody who never plays.
Clever Fox Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 Our first signing should be Huth. Sako is a good player but not at 50k if that's true. But it would give us 2 good left sided players with Schlupp.
ealingfox Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 He is definitely good enough to be part of our squad, I have no doubts about that. But if he wants 50 bags a week, well then he can suck my chuddies.
Hack Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 Not gonna outright say no but on first thoughts I wouldn't be keen, should we survive we need to improve, ALOT, the players we have have improved in the last month or so but the a fair few of them need replacing and improving. We currently have too many '(quality) championship standard' players here, in Sako I fear we'd be signing another one. Isn't this the same exact conversation people had about paying 8 mil for a championship striker called Ulloa? Are we not happy with him? and what is he worth now? Again, shouldn't we trust the the management on recruitment. Yes, there is nothing in the story about Sako and LCFC.
Hack Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 14 goals is decent, thought it was Dicko & Afobe doing all the work at Wolves. Wouldn't want him though, with the way Wolves fans have described him in the past he could be N'Guessan the 2nd. 27 years old as well, if we want Championship players I'd rather get potential like Demarai Gray & Alex Mowatt. 27 is the peak age for a top class striker. So why is his age an obstacle?
Swiper Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 27 is the peak age for a top class striker. So why is his age an obstacle? Surely he would be brought in as an attacking midfielder/winger. Striker is the last position this team needs to worry about.
MPH Posted 5 May 2015 Posted 5 May 2015 Underwhelming but I trust Nige I feel the same for about 80% of his signings and most are pretty decent.. I am right in thinking that he's never played PL football ?? If that IS so then he's going to be a 'take a chance' signing for any PL outfit. If we're really aiming to progress, (provided we are in the top level next season), then 27 y.o. 'maybes' perhaps isn't the way to go. Especially those that expect £50k + wages ! We'll probably send wood out on loan or he may indeed be replacing knocks. Either way he's just a stocking filler
